CJP Ends 36-Day Protest After Dharmendra Pradhan’s Exit, Vows to Continue Nationwide Campaign for Education Reforms
Although the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has prompted the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to withdraw its 36-day nationwide agitation, the organisation has made it clear that its larger campaign is only beginning.
Party leaders said the protest had achieved an important milestone, but their broader objective of transforming the country’s education system and expanding the movement at the grassroots level remains unchanged.
Announcing the suspension of the protest on Saturday after the Centre accepted one of the organisation’s principal demands, CJP leaders maintained that the minister’s resignation should not be viewed as the culmination of the movement.
Instead, they described it as the first significant step in what they called a long-term struggle for accountability and educational reforms.
Reiterating that the campaign would continue, CJP leader Dipke said ending the demonstrations did not signify the end of the organisation’s mission.
In a post on X, he wrote that the movement had only entered its next phase and that the Cockroach Janta Party intended to continue working towards its stated objectives across the country.
Dipke also urged the government to provide financial assistance to the families of students who allegedly died by suicide during the examination controversy.
He demanded compensation of ₹1 crore for each affected family, arguing that they deserved meaningful support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
According to the organisation, the Centre has assured it that the highest possible compensation permissible under the law would be extended to the bereaved families.
Apart from its demands relating to students, the organisation also sought action against police personnel over the clashes that took place during the July 20 “Chalo Sansad” march, alleging excesses during the protest.
Sharing a similar view, CJP spokesperson Neha Bora said the agitation had demonstrated the strength of collective youth participation.
She remarked that the campaign had proved how united young people could influence public policy and bring about meaningful change, adding that the conclusion of the protest marked the beginning of a new phase rather than the end of the movement.
Another party spokesperson, Saurav Das, said the organisation would continue highlighting issues affecting young people while advocating reforms in both education and governance.
According to him, the group’s agenda extends beyond a single protest and focuses on long-term institutional changes.
Speaking about the organisation’s plans, Das said contesting elections was not currently under consideration.
He argued that despite the presence of hundreds of political parties in the country, young people’s aspirations remained largely unaddressed.
The immediate priority, he said, was to strengthen the movement at the grassroots level so that governments, irrespective of political affiliation, would be compelled to respond to the concerns of the youth.
While ruling out any immediate political ambitions, CJP leader Ranka left open the possibility of entering electoral politics at a later stage.
Responding to a question on whether the organisation could eventually transform into a political party, he said he had learnt never to rule out any possibility in public life.
Even so, Ranka emphasised that the organisation’s present focus remained firmly on overhauling India’s education system.
He asserted that the campaign would continue until meaningful reforms were implemented, describing the end of the agitation as merely the opening chapter of a much longer movement.

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे के बाद भले ही कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) ने अपना 36 दिन लंबा देशव्यापी आंदोलन स्थगित कर दिया हो, लेकिन संगठन का कहना है कि उसकी असली लड़ाई अभी शुरू हुई है।
पार्टी नेताओं ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह आंदोलन किसी एक मांग तक सीमित नहीं था, बल्कि शिक्षा व्यवस्था में व्यापक सुधार और देशभर में जनाधार मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक लंबी मुहिम का पहला चरण था।
शनिवार को केंद्र सरकार द्वारा संगठन की प्रमुख मांगों में से एक स्वीकार किए जाने के बाद आंदोलन समाप्त करने की घोषणा करते हुए सीजेपी नेतृत्व ने कहा कि धर्मेंद्र प्रधान का इस्तीफा उनकी अंतिम मंजिल नहीं है।
उनके अनुसार यह केवल उस व्यापक अभियान की शुरुआत है, जिसका उद्देश्य शिक्षा व्यवस्था में जवाबदेही और संरचनात्मक सुधार सुनिश्चित करना है।
सीजेपी नेता दीपके ने कहा कि धरना-प्रदर्शन समाप्त करने का अर्थ यह नहीं है कि आंदोलन खत्म हो गया है।
सोशल मीडिया मंच एक्स पर उन्होंने लिखा कि यह संघर्ष अब नए चरण में प्रवेश कर चुका है और कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी अपने उद्देश्यों को पूरा करने के लिए देशभर में अभियान जारी रखेगी।
दीपके ने परीक्षा विवाद के दौरान कथित रूप से आत्महत्या करने वाले छात्रों के परिवारों के लिए आर्थिक सहायता की भी मांग की। उन्होंने प्रत्येक प्रभावित परिवार को ₹1 करोड़ का मुआवजा दिए जाने की बात कही।
संगठन का दावा है कि केंद्र सरकार ने मृतकों के परिजनों को नियमों के तहत अधिकतम संभव सहायता उपलब्ध कराने का आश्वासन दिया है।
संगठन ने 20 जुलाई को आयोजित ‘चलो संसद’ मार्च के दौरान हुई झड़पों का भी मुद्दा उठाया और प्रदर्शन के दौरान कथित पुलिस कार्रवाई की जांच करते हुए संबंधित पुलिसकर्मियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की।
सीजेपी की प्रवक्ता नेहा बोरा ने कहा कि इस आंदोलन ने यह साबित कर दिया है कि संगठित युवा देश में बदलाव की ताकत बन सकते हैं।
उनके अनुसार आंदोलन का समापन किसी संघर्ष का अंत नहीं बल्कि एक नए दौर की शुरुआत है, जिसमें युवाओं की भागीदारी और भी व्यापक होगी।
पार्टी के एक अन्य प्रवक्ता सौरव दास ने कहा कि संगठन आगे भी युवाओं से जुड़े मुद्दों को प्रमुखता से उठाता रहेगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि शिक्षा और सुशासन में सुधार लाने के लिए सीजेपी दीर्घकालिक अभियान चलाएगी और आवश्यक नीतिगत बदलावों की मांग जारी रखेगी।
भविष्य की रणनीति पर बोलते हुए दास ने स्पष्ट किया कि फिलहाल चुनावी राजनीति में उतरना संगठन की प्राथमिकता नहीं है।
उनका कहना था कि देश में अनेक राजनीतिक दल होने के बावजूद युवाओं की अपेक्षाओं को पर्याप्त महत्व नहीं मिला है।
इसलिए संगठन फिलहाल गांव-गांव और शहर-शहर अपने अभियान का विस्तार करेगा ताकि सत्ता में कोई भी सरकार हो, उसे युवाओं की आवाज सुननी पड़े।
हालांकि संगठन ने तत्काल राजनीतिक दल बनने की संभावना से इनकार किया, लेकिन सीजेपी नेता रांका ने भविष्य के विकल्पों के लिए दरवाजे खुले रखे।
यह पूछे जाने पर कि क्या आगे चलकर संगठन राजनीतिक दल का रूप ले सकता है, उन्होंने कहा कि सार्वजनिक जीवन में उन्होंने इतना जरूर सीखा है कि किसी संभावना से कभी इनकार नहीं करना चाहिए।
रांका ने दोहराया कि वर्तमान समय में संगठन का सबसे बड़ा लक्ष्य देश की शिक्षा व्यवस्था में व्यापक सुधार सुनिश्चित करना है।
उन्होंने कहा कि जब तक शिक्षा प्रणाली में वास्तविक परिवर्तन नहीं होता, तब तक उनका अभियान जारी रहेगा और यह संघर्ष आने वाले समय में और व्यापक रूप लेगा।
