CM Yogi Launches ₹452 Crore Development Projects in Prayagraj, Highlights City’s Transformation
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹452.64 crore in Prayagraj, describing the city as a growing symbol of cultural heritage, faith, and modern urban development.
Addressing a public gathering during the event, the Chief Minister said Prayagraj has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years.
He noted that the city, once troubled by disorder and neglect, is now moving steadily towards becoming a clean, organized, and well-developed urban centre.
Several major civic and infrastructure initiatives were launched during the programme.
These included projects related to road development, beautification works, urban amenities, and smart city upgrades aimed at improving the daily lives of residents.
The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation also introduced a new website, allowing citizens easier access to information and online services.
The Chief Minister also announced that Ramghat will now host a daily evening Ganga Aarti, similar to the spiritual ceremonies held in other major pilgrimage cities.
He said the initiative would further strengthen Prayagraj’s religious and cultural identity while attracting more visitors and devotees.
During the event, Yogi Adityanath honoured Mahant Ganesh Kesarwani and sought blessings while interacting with saints and local representatives.
Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and several public representatives were also present at the programme.
Speaking about infrastructure growth, the Chief Minister highlighted the rapid progress of the Prayagraj-Ganga Expressway project.
He said the expressway would significantly improve connectivity and reduce travel time between Prayagraj and Delhi to nearly six to seven hours, giving a major boost to trade, tourism, and regional development.
Yogi Adityanath stated that before 2017, Prayagraj and several other cities in Uttar Pradesh struggled with poor infrastructure, law and order concerns, and administrative inefficiency.
However, he claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the state government’s efforts, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed large-scale improvements in governance, security, and public infrastructure.
He further said that the state government is committed to preserving India’s cultural and spiritual traditions while simultaneously promoting modern development.
Referring to the successful organisation of religious events and infrastructure upgrades in Prayagraj, he added that the city has emerged as an important centre of faith tourism and cultural pride.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining public infrastructure properly.
He directed municipal officials to ensure regular monitoring, cleanliness, and upkeep of newly developed civic facilities so that residents continue to benefit from long-term urban improvements.
According to officials, several heritage structures and public spaces in Prayagraj are also being renovated under ongoing development plans.
The administration aims to modernize urban infrastructure while retaining the city’s historical and spiritual character.
