Criminal Complaint Filed Against UP Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ Over Alleged Remarks Against Akhilesh Yadav and Family

Prayagraj: A criminal complaint has been filed before an MP-MLA court in Prayagraj against Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, accusing him of making allegedly derogatory remarks against Samajwadi Party president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, his late father and former Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav.
The complaint has been moved by Samajwadi Party leader Sandeep Yadav, who has sought judicial directions for the registration of a criminal case against the minister.
The petitioner has alleged that the remarks made by Nandi were defamatory and aimed at tarnishing the reputation of senior Samajwadi Party leaders.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, the Court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP-MLA Court) has fixed August 20 for recording the complainant’s statement before deciding the next course of action in the matter.
According to the complaint, Nand Gopal Gupta allegedly posted objectionable comments on Facebook and X on June 18, 2026, targeting Akhilesh Yadav, former Union Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Dimple Yadav.
The complainant has claimed that the statements were factually incorrect and defamatory in nature.
The petition further alleges that the social media posts have continued to be circulated and amplified by the minister and his supporters, thereby spreading misinformation among the public.
It has been contended that the repeated sharing of the content has aggravated the controversy and caused damage to the public image of the leaders concerned.
The complainant has also claimed that the alleged posts have harmed the reputation of Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav and could potentially disturb public harmony by creating unnecessary tension in society.
In his plea before the court, Sandeep Yadav, who had earlier contested the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from the Prayagraj North constituency on a Samajwadi Party ticket, has requested the court to direct the registration of an FIR against the Cabinet minister under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as well as Section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act.
The matter will now proceed in accordance with the court’s directions after the complainant’s statement is recorded.
अखिलेश यादव और परिवार पर कथित टिप्पणी को लेकर यूपी मंत्री नंद गोपाल गुप्ता ‘नंदी’ के खिलाफ प्रयागराज कोर्ट में आपराधिक शिकायत
प्रयागराज: उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के कैबिनेट मंत्री नंद गोपाल गुप्ता ‘नंदी’ के खिलाफ प्रयागराज की एमपी-एमएलए अदालत में एक आपराधिक शिकायत दायर की गई है।
शिकायत में उन पर समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव, उनके दिवंगत पिता एवं पूर्व केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री मुलायम सिंह यादव तथा मैनपुरी से सांसद डिंपल यादव के विरुद्ध कथित रूप से आपत्तिजनक और मानहानिकारक टिप्पणी करने का आरोप लगाया गया है।
यह शिकायत समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता संदीप यादव ने दायर की है। उन्होंने अदालत से अनुरोध किया है कि मंत्री के खिलाफ आपराधिक मुकदमा दर्ज कराने के निर्देश जारी किए जाएं।
शिकायतकर्ता का आरोप है कि नंदी द्वारा की गई टिप्पणियां न केवल तथ्यहीन हैं बल्कि उनका उद्देश्य समाजवादी पार्टी के शीर्ष नेताओं की सार्वजनिक छवि को नुकसान पहुंचाना भी है।
मामले पर प्रारंभिक सुनवाई करते हुए अपर मुख्य न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट (एमपी-एमएलए कोर्ट) ने शिकायतकर्ता का बयान दर्ज करने के लिए 20 अगस्त की तिथि निर्धारित की है।
बयान दर्ज होने के बाद अदालत मामले में आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई पर निर्णय करेगी।
शिकायत में कहा गया है कि 18 जून, 2026 को नंद गोपाल गुप्ता ‘नंदी’ ने फेसबुक और एक्स पर कथित रूप से ऐसे पोस्ट साझा किए, जिनमें अखिलेश यादव, पूर्व केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री मुलायम सिंह यादव तथा सांसद डिंपल यादव के संबंध में आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणियां की गईं।
शिकायतकर्ता का कहना है कि ये टिप्पणियां तथ्यों पर आधारित नहीं थीं और इनका उद्देश्य उनकी प्रतिष्ठा को ठेस पहुंचाना था।
याचिका में यह भी आरोप लगाया गया है कि संबंधित पोस्ट को मंत्री तथा उनके समर्थकों द्वारा लगातार साझा किया जा रहा है, जिससे आम जनता के बीच कथित रूप से भ्रामक जानकारी प्रसारित हो रही है।
शिकायतकर्ता का कहना है कि इस तरह की गतिविधियों से विवाद और अधिक बढ़ा है तथा संबंधित नेताओं की सार्वजनिक छवि प्रभावित हुई है।
शिकायत में यह भी कहा गया है कि इन कथित सोशल मीडिया पोस्टों से अखिलेश यादव और डिंपल यादव की प्रतिष्ठा को नुकसान पहुंचा है तथा समाज में तनाव और सार्वजनिक शांति भंग होने की आशंका भी उत्पन्न हो सकती है।
समाजवादी पार्टी के टिकट पर पूर्व में प्रयागराज उत्तर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से चुनाव लड़ चुके संदीप यादव ने अदालत से आग्रह किया है कि कैबिनेट मंत्री नंद गोपाल गुप्ता ‘नंदी’ के खिलाफ भारतीय न्याय संहिता (बीएनएस) की प्रासंगिक धाराओं तथा सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी अधिनियम की धारा 66(डी) के तहत प्राथमिकी दर्ज कराने के निर्देश दिए जाएं।
अब इस मामले में शिकायतकर्ता का बयान दर्ज होने के बाद न्यायालय आगे की कानूनी प्रक्रिया तय करेगा।
