Father and Son Die of Electrocution While Repairing Tube Well in Prayagraj Village
A tragic accident claimed the lives of a father and his son in Bara tehsil of Prayagraj after both were electrocuted while attempting to repair a tube well.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Tuesday in Maharajganj village, where the duo came into contact with a live electric cable during maintenance work. Their sudden deaths left the entire village in mourning.
The victims have been identified as 60-year-old farmer Vinod Bind and his 30-year-old son Dhanu Bind.
According to family members, Dhanu had gone to the family’s agricultural field to switch on the tube well for irrigation.
When the motor failed to start, he began checking the electrical connection near the installation.
While inspecting the system, Dhanu reportedly came in contact with a live electric wire and suffered a severe electric shock. Hearing his cries, his father, Vino,d rushed to rescue him.
In an attempt to pull his son away from the current, Vinod too was caught in the electric flow, and both collapsed on the spot.
Family members and villagers immediately reached the field after learning about the incident and rushed the father and son to a nearby private hospital.
However, doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. The news of their deaths spread quickly through Maharajganj, leaving relatives and residents devastated.
After receiving information, police arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest that a damaged electric cable lying across the field may have caused the fatal accident.
Authorities have sent both bodies for post-mortem examination and are looking into the exact circumstances that led to the electrocution.

प्रयागराज के बारा तहसील क्षेत्र में मंगलवार को एक दर्दनाक हादसे में पिता और पुत्र की करंट लगने से मौत हो गई। महाराजगंज गांव में ट्यूबवेल की मरम्मत के दौरान दोनों जीवित विद्युत तार की चपेट में आ गए। इस हादसे के बाद पूरे गांव में शोक की लहर फैल गई।
मृतकों की पहचान 60 वर्षीय किसान विनोद बिंद और उनके 30 वर्षीय पुत्र धनु बिंद के रूप में हुई है। परिजनों के अनुसार, धनु खेत की सिंचाई के लिए ट्यूबवेल चालू करने गया था। जब मोटर नहीं चली तो उसने ट्यूबवेल के पास विद्युत कनेक्शन की जांच शुरू कर दी।
जांच के दौरान धनु का हाथ अचानक करंट प्रवाहित कर रहे तार से छू गया और वह बिजली की चपेट में आ गया। बेटे की चीख सुनते ही विनोद बिंद उसे बचाने के लिए दौड़े। बेटे को करंट से अलग करने की कोशिश में वह स्वयं भी विद्युत प्रवाह की गिरफ्त में आ गए और दोनों खेत में ही गिर पड़े।
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही परिवार के सदस्य और ग्रामीण मौके पर पहुंचे तथा दोनों को तत्काल पास के एक निजी अस्पताल ले गए। वहां चिकित्सकों ने जांच के बाद पिता-पुत्र को मृत घोषित कर दिया। इस दुखद घटना की खबर फैलते ही महाराजगंज गांव में मातम छा गया और परिजनों का रो-रोकर बुरा हाल हो गया।
सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस ने घटनास्थल पहुंचकर जांच शुरू की। शुरुआती पड़ताल में आशंका जताई जा रही है कि खेत में बिछी क्षतिग्रस्त बिजली की केबल इस हादसे की वजह बनी। पुलिस ने दोनों शवों को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है और पूरे मामले की विस्तृत जांच की जा रही है।
