Prayagraj Becomes Uttar Pradesh’s Hottest City as Heatwave Intensifies
Scorching weather conditions pushed Prayagraj to the top of Uttar Pradesh’s temperature chart, with the city recording the highest daytime temperature in the state.
Intense sunshine, hot winds, and rising humidity made outdoor movement extremely difficult, leaving residents struggling with oppressive heat.
On Sunday, the mercury climbed to 43.4 degrees Celsius, the highest maximum temperature recorded anywhere in the state.
The weather department reported that Prayagraj’s maximum temperature was 39.6 degrees Celsius just a day earlier.
Within 24 hours, the temperature surged by 3.8 degrees Celsius, touching 43.4 degrees Celsius.
The city’s night temperature also remained unusually high at around 30 degrees Celsius, while Friday night’s minimum temperature had been 28.8 degrees Celsius, indicating an increase of nearly 1.2 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists said that rising daytime and nighttime temperatures have significantly increased discomfort for residents.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditions are expected to change between June 29 and July 4.
Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and rainfall are likely to bring temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave.
Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 kmph, which could lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures across the region.
However, weather experts have advised people to remain cautious until conditions improve.
Residents have been urged to avoid prolonged exposure to the afternoon sun, stay hydrated and take necessary precautions, especially during peak daytime hours, as heat-related illnesses remain a concern.

मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, इससे एक दिन पहले प्रयागराज का अधिकतम तापमान 39.6 डिग्री सेल्सियस था। केवल 24 घंटे के भीतर तापमान में 3.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस की बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की गई और पारा 43.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक पहुंच गया। रात का तापमान भी सामान्य से अधिक रहा और करीब 30 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया।
वहीं शुक्रवार रात का न्यूनतम तापमान 28.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस था, जिसमें लगभग 1.2 डिग्री सेल्सियस की वृद्धि हुई। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि दिन और रात दोनों समय बढ़ते तापमान ने लोगों की परेशानी और बढ़ा दी है।
भारतीय मौसम विभाग के पूर्वानुमान के मुताबिक 29 जून से 4 जुलाई के बीच मौसम में बदलाव देखने को मिल सकता है। इस दौरान तेज हवा, गरज-चमक और बारिश की संभावना है, जिससे भीषण गर्मी से कुछ राहत मिलने के आसार हैं। हवाओं की रफ्तार 40 से 50 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा तक पहुंच सकती है, जिससे तापमान में गिरावट आने की संभावना जताई गई है।
मौसम विशेषज्ञों ने सलाह दी है कि मौसम में बदलाव आने तक लोग विशेष सावधानी बरतें। दोपहर के समय अनावश्यक रूप से बाहर निकलने से बचें, पर्याप्त मात्रा में पानी पीते रहें और गर्मी से बचाव के उपाय अपनाएं, क्योंकि लगातार बढ़ती गर्मी स्वास्थ्य पर प्रतिकूल असर डाल सकती है।
