Guru Arjan Dev Martyrdom Day Observed with Deep Reverence at Prayagraj Gurudwara
Prayagraj: The martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, was observed with devotion and solemnity at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Mutthiganj on Thursday.
The occasion was marked by prayers, remembrance, and tributes to the Guru’s unparalleled sacrifice.
Members of the Sikh community gathered at the gurudwara, bowed before the Guru’s holy shrine and offered their respects.
Devotees also participated in a special Ardas (prayer ceremony) and later received Guru Ka Langar, the community meal served to all without distinction.
Addressing the congregation, Sardar Harjinder Singh, President of Sri Guru Singh Sabha, said that Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom was not merely the first martyrdom in Sikh history but also a timeless sacrifice made for the protection of truth, justice and human rights.
He emphasised that the Guru’s teachings continue to inspire people to embrace brotherhood, harmony and compassion in their daily lives.
On the occasion, Pramukh Sewadar Paramjit Singh Bagga described Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s sacrifice as extraordinary and urged devotees to follow the Guru’s ideals and values.
As part of the programme, women who had completed the continuous recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib for 40 days were felicitated for their dedication and devotion.
Among those present at the event were Up-President Jasmeet Singh, Treasurer Manjit Singh Madaan, Sardar Maninder Pal Singh, Sardar Harmeet Singh, Sardar Jasmeet Singh, Sardar Gurcharan Singh, Kuldeep Singh Bagga, Baljeet Singh, Manu Singh Chawla, Harjyoti Singh Kathuria and Trilochan Singh Bagga, along with several other members of the Sikh community.
प्रयागराज के गुरुद्वारे में श्रद्धा और सम्मान के साथ मनाया गया श्री गुरु अर्जन देव जी का शहीदी दिवस
प्रयागराज: सिखों के पाँचवें गुरु श्री गुरु अर्जन देव जी का शहीदी दिवस गुरुवार को मुट्ठीगंज स्थित गुरुद्वारा श्री गुरु सिंह सभा में अत्यंत श्रद्धा, भक्ति और सम्मान के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर गुरु के अद्वितीय बलिदान को स्मरण करते हुए विशेष प्रार्थनाएं और श्रद्धांजलि कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए।
सिख समाज के लोग बड़ी संख्या में गुरुद्वारे पहुंचे, गुरु चरणों में शीश नवाया और श्रद्धापूर्वक नमन किया। श्रद्धालुओं ने विशेष अरदास में भाग लिया और इसके बाद सभी ने गुरु का लंगर ग्रहण किया।
सभा को संबोधित करते हुए श्री गुरु सिंह सभा के अध्यक्ष सरदार हरजिंदर सिंह ने कहा कि गुरु अर्जन देव जी का बलिदान केवल सिख इतिहास की पहली शहादत नहीं, बल्कि सत्य, न्याय और मानवाधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए दिया गया एक अमर संदेश है। उन्होंने कहा कि गुरु की शिक्षाएं आज भी समाज को प्रेम, भाईचारे और सद्भाव के मार्ग पर चलने की प्रेरणा देती हैं।
इस अवसर पर प्रमुख सेवादार परमजीत सिंह बग्गा ने गुरु अर्जन देव जी की शहादत को अद्वितीय बताते हुए लोगों से उनके आदर्शों और शिक्षाओं को अपने जीवन में अपनाने का आह्वान किया।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान 40 दिनों तक श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब का अखंड पाठ करने वाली महिलाओं को उनके समर्पण और सेवा भाव के लिए सम्मानित भी किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में उपाध्यक्ष सरदार जसमीत सिंह, कोषाध्यक्ष सरदार मनजीत सिंह मदान, सरदार मनिंदर पाल सिंह, सरदार हरमीत सिंह, सरदार जसमीत सिंह, सरदार गुरचरण सिंह, कुलदीप सिंह बग्गा, बलजीत सिंह, मनु सिंह चावला, हरज्योति सिंह कथूरिया और त्रिलोचन सिंह बग्गा सहित सिख समाज के अनेक गणमान्य सदस्य उपस्थित रहे।
