Iran Expands Gulf Offensive, Claims Strikes on US-Linked Military Sites in Kuwait and Bahrain
The conflict in West Asia escalated further on Saturday as Iran launched a new series of missile and drone attacks targeting military installations linked to the United States in the Gulf region.
The fresh offensive came after seven consecutive nights of reported strikes on Iranian military assets, deepening fears of a wider regional confrontation.
Among the countries affected was Kuwait, where a major power generation and water desalination facility was reportedly hit. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the attack triggered a fire that forced several electricity generation units to shut down as a precaution.
Emergency teams were deployed to bring the blaze under control and restore essential services.
Amid continuing missile and drone threats, Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended flight operations.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had carried out missile strikes on Camp Arifjan, one of the principal US military logistics bases in Kuwait.
The force also claimed it had destroyed a radar system located at Ali Al Salem Air Base, another key military installation in the country.
Iranian state media further reported that the IRGC had targeted facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, including an area where US military aircraft were allegedly stationed, as well as an intelligence and data centre. However, these claims could not be independently verified.
Defending the military action, the Revolutionary Guards described the attacks as a response to continued US military operations against Iran.
In an official statement, the force maintained that it considered the strikes an act of retaliation rather than an escalation.
The IRGC said that, in the absence of what it described as effective international action to restrain the United States, Iran believed it had the right to respond.
Quoting a verse from the Quran, the statement declared that any attack would be answered similarly and warned that additional military action against US allies in the Gulf could follow if hostilities continued.
Tensions also intensified at sea after both sides widened the conflict to strategic maritime routes on Friday.
Washington announced that it was enforcing a naval blockade in the region, while Tehran said it had taken action against vessels it accused of violating its navigation rules in the Strait of Hormuz.
The narrow waterway is one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, carrying nearly one-fifth of global oil supplies.

पश्चिम एशिया में तनाव शनिवार को और गहरा गया जब ईरान ने खाड़ी क्षेत्र में अमेरिका से जुड़े सैन्य प्रतिष्ठानों पर मिसाइल और ड्रोन हमलों की नई श्रृंखला शुरू की।
यह कार्रवाई ईरान के सैन्य ठिकानों पर लगातार सातवीं रात हुए हमलों के बाद सामने आई है, जिससे पूरे क्षेत्र में व्यापक संघर्ष की आशंका और बढ़ गई है।
हमलों से प्रभावित देशों में कुवैत भी शामिल रहा। वहाँ एक प्रमुख विद्युत उत्पादन एवं समुद्री जल अलवणीकरण संयंत्र पर हमले की सूचना है।
कुवैत के बिजली, जल एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय ने बताया कि हमले के बाद संयंत्र में आग लग गई, जिसके कारण एहतियातन कई बिजली उत्पादन इकाइयों को बंद करना पड़ा।
दमकल और राहत दल आग पर काबू पाने तथा सेवाओं को जल्द बहाल करने में जुटे हैं। लगातार मिसाइल और ड्रोन खतरे को देखते हुए कुवैत अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर उड़ानों का संचालन भी अस्थायी रूप से रोक दिया गया।
ईरान की इस्लामिक रिवोल्यूशनरी गार्ड कॉर्प्स (आईआरजीसी) ने दावा किया कि उसने कुवैत स्थित कैंप अरिफजान, जो अमेरिका का एक प्रमुख सैन्य सहायता एवं लॉजिस्टिक अड्डा माना जाता है, पर सफल हमला किया।
आईआरजीसी ने यह भी कहा कि अली अल सलेम एयर बेस पर स्थापित एक रडार प्रणाली को भी नष्ट कर दिया गया।
ईरानी सरकारी मीडिया ने दावा किया कि बहरीन के शेख ईसा एयर बेस में उस क्षेत्र को भी निशाना बनाया गया, जहां कथित रूप से अमेरिकी लड़ाकू विमान तैनात थे।
इसके अलावा एक खुफिया डेटा केंद्र पर भी हमला किए जाने की बात कही गई। हालांकि इन दावों की स्वतंत्र पुष्टि नहीं हो सकी है।
आईआरजीसी ने अपने आधिकारिक बयान में इन सैन्य कार्रवाइयों को अमेरिका की लगातार सैन्य गतिविधियों के जवाब में उठाया गया कदम बताया। संगठन का कहना है कि यह कार्रवाई क्षेत्र में बढ़ती अमेरिकी सैन्य मौजूदगी और हमलों के प्रतिशोध के रूप में की गई है।
अपने बयान में आईआरजीसी ने कहा कि यदि अंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्थाएं अमेरिका की सैन्य कार्रवाई को रोकने में असफल रहती हैं, तो ईरान को स्वयं जवाब देने का अधिकार है।
संगठन ने कुरान की एक आयत का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि किसी भी हमले का उसी प्रकार उत्तर दिया जाएगा और चेतावनी दी कि यदि हालात नहीं बदले तो खाड़ी क्षेत्र में अमेरिका के सहयोगी देशों पर आगे भी हमले किए जा सकते हैं।
इस बीच, शुक्रवार से संघर्ष समुद्री मार्गों तक भी फैल गया है। अमेरिका ने घोषणा की है कि वह क्षेत्र में नौसैनिक नाकेबंदी लागू कर रहा है, जबकि ईरान का कहना है कि उसने होरमुज़ जलडमरूमध्य से गुजरने वाले उन जहाजों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की है जो उसके निर्धारित नौवहन नियमों का उल्लंघन कर रहे थे।
यह जलमार्ग वैश्विक ऊर्जा आपूर्ति की दृष्टि से अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है, क्योंकि दुनिया के लगभग 20 प्रतिशत कच्चे तेल का परिवहन इसी मार्ग से होता है।
