Iran Sets 7 Conditions for US Talks, Warns Trump of ‘Decisive War’ if Demands Rejected
Tehran has conveyed its terms through Qatar as regional mediators seek to revive diplomacy; Iran publicly identifies an end to fighting, release of frozen funds, and removal of the US naval blockade among its demands.
TEHRAN: Iran has placed a fresh set of conditions before the United States for reopening negotiations, using Qatar as an intermediary to convey its seven-point position to Washington as efforts to halt the continuing conflict gather pace.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran was waiting for a response from US President Donald Trump after Qatar transmitted the Iranian terms.
While Rezaei did not disclose the complete seven-point package, he publicly identified three central demands.
Tehran is seeking an end to hostilities across all fronts, the return of Iranian funds that remain frozen abroad, and the lifting of what it describes as the US naval blockade.
Rezaei presented acceptance of those conditions as the route towards ending the conflict.
At the same time, the Iranian official coupled the diplomatic initiative with a warning of further escalation.
He said Tehran was prepared for what he called a “decisive war” should Washington reject the demands.
The dual message — negotiations on one track and military preparedness on another — comes as regional governments continue trying to reopen a channel between the two adversaries.
Qatar has been communicating with both sides, while Pakistan has also remained involved in diplomatic efforts.
Rezaei said Iranian military planners were also preparing for the possibility of another US strike.
He claimed that Tehran had altered its military approach after earlier rounds of fighting, with particular attention being given to American naval forces operating in waters stretching from the Persian Gulf towards the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea.
He further claimed that Iran had recently conducted a test involving a multi-warhead anti-ship missile near a US naval vessel or aircraft carrier.
That assertion was made by the Iranian official and has not been independently verified in the available reporting.
Rezaei warned that another American attack could trigger Iranian strikes against US military installations in the region as well as American commercial interests.
Those remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and continuing attacks involving Iran and US forces.
Despite the military warnings, Tehran says it wants the conflict brought to a close. Rezaei said Iran’s objective was to end the war as quickly as possible, while stressing that fighting had not actually stopped.
The diplomatic track has faced setbacks in recent months.
A memorandum reached through Pakistan-hosted discussions expired without producing a durable settlement, after which regional intermediaries continued efforts to bring Washington and Tehran back towards negotiations.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also expected to travel to Tehran, although Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said he was not aware of any specific US proposal that Naqvi was carrying.
Iran keeps nuclear policy under review.
The nuclear issue remains another major point of contention between Tehran and Washington.
Rezaei said Iran had not decided to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and maintained that its nuclear doctrine had not changed.
He also referred to Iran’s longstanding religious prohibition against developing nuclear weapons.
At the same time, he warned that continued US actions could eventually force Tehran to reconsider its position.
The latest diplomatic message therefore leaves two possibilities open: renewed negotiations if Washington responds positively to Tehran’s conditions, or another escalation if the demands are rejected.
For now, Qatar remains one of the principal channels through which the two sides are communicating indirectly.

अमेरिकी नौसेना पर ईरान की नजर
रेजई ने कहा कि ईरानी सेना ने संघर्ष के पिछले चरणों के बाद अपनी रणनीति में बदलाव किया है।
उनके मुताबिक, अब अमेरिकी नौसैनिक संसाधनों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है, खासकर फारस की खाड़ी से लेकर ओमान की खाड़ी और अरब सागर तक सक्रिय अमेरिकी सैन्य परिसंपत्तियों पर।
ईरानी अधिकारी ने यह भी दावा किया कि हाल में एक अमेरिकी पोत या विमानवाहक पोत के निकट ईरान ने मल्टी-वारहेड एंटी-शिप मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया।
यह दावा ईरानी अधिकारी की ओर से किया गया है और उपलब्ध स्वतंत्र रिपोर्टों से इसकी पुष्टि नहीं हुई है।

हालांकि, रेजई ने संकेत दिया कि अमेरिका की आगे की कार्रवाइयां तेहरान को भविष्य में अपनी मौजूदा स्थिति पर पुनर्विचार करने के लिए मजबूर कर सकती हैं।
