Iranian TV Threat to Barron Trump: US Secret Service Responds
Iranian state television aired a programme allegedly targeting Barron Trump and claiming to have tracked his movements. The US Secret Service says it is aware of the video and is investigating potential threats.
A controversial programme aired on Iranian state television has raised fresh alarm in the United States after making explicit and unverified claims about Barron Trump, the youngest son of US President Donald Trump.
The broadcast, which has reportedly been circulated by media outlets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), focused on Barron Trump’s whereabouts and alleged knowledge of locations connected with his studies, transportation and security arrangements.
It also referred to an alleged $10 million reward for his killing, a claim that has not been independently verified.
US Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring confirmed that the agency was aware of the broadcast, telling CNN that the service investigates any material that could be interpreted as a threat to people under its protection.
“The US Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Herring said, while declining to discuss specific protective intelligence issues due to operational security concerns.
The nearly three-minute video, aired on Channel 3 of Iranian state television, carries an explicitly threatening title directed at Barron Trump.
According to reports, the programme claims that his movements have been closely monitored and displays what it says are locations associated with his university, security escort and Secret Service personnel.
However, the broadcast offers no independently verified evidence to support its surveillance claims.
It also makes extraordinary allegations about a woman allegedly gaining access to Barron Trump and passing information to the makers of the programme.
The video further claims that he communicates through voice and text services on Xbox beyond the reach of his security detail.
These assertions have also not been independently confirmed.
CNN reported that the video appears to represent the first publicly known instance in which Iranian media has specifically focused on Barron Trump.
Iranian hardline outlets had previously directed threatening rhetoric at other members of the Trump family, including Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
The latest episode is being viewed in the context of what US officials and media reports describe as a broader pattern of hostile messaging aimed at the Trump family.
Earlier this year, Iranian media reportedly circulated a separate programme focusing on Melania Trump and discussing her movements and possible security vulnerabilities in New York.
Reports have also emerged in recent months about alleged threats involving other members of the Trump family, including Ivanka Trump.
Donald Trump himself has repeatedly featured in threatening imagery and broadcasts from Iranian media.
In one widely reported case, a billboard in Tehran depicted Trump apparently dead inside a coffin.
Another video reportedly attempted to trace the routes his motorcade took between airports and his properties in Florida and New York, with the Secret Service saying at the time that it was reviewing the material.
The hostile rhetoric comes against the backdrop of the long-running confrontation between Washington and Tehran, including Iran’s repeated calls for retaliation following the 2020 US strike that killed Qassem Soleimani.
More recent commentary in Iranian state-linked media has invoked the Islamic concept of qisas, or retributive justice, while discussing the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the February 28 US-Israeli strikes, according to Euronews.
One commentator, Mohammad-Javad Larijani, described retaliation as what he called the Islamic Republic’s “inalienable right”, while another, Mohsen Ghanbarian, argued that failing to punish those responsible would leave Iran’s leadership permanently vulnerable.
The Secret Service has not disclosed whether the latest broadcast has led to any specific change in the protection arrangements for Barron Trump or other members of the presidential family.
For now, the agency has said only that it is aware of the video and is examining any potential threat, while declining to reveal operational details surrounding its protective measures.

रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, करीब तीन मिनट के इस वीडियो में बैरन ट्रंप की हत्या के लिए कथित तौर पर 1 करोड़ डॉलर के इनाम का भी उल्लेख किया गया है। हालांकि, इस दावे की स्वतंत्र रूप से पुष्टि नहीं हो सकी है।

हेरिंग ने कहा, “अमेरिकी सीक्रेट सर्विस वीडियो से अवगत है और हमारे संरक्षण में आने वाले लोगों के खिलाफ किसी भी संभावित खतरे की जांच करती है।
” हालांकि, उन्होंने परिचालन सुरक्षा का हवाला देते हुए सुरक्षात्मक खुफिया जानकारी से जुड़े विशिष्ट मामलों पर टिप्पणी करने से इनकार कर दिया।
CNN की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, यह संभवतः पहली बार है जब ईरानी मीडिया में सार्वजनिक रूप से बैरन ट्रंप को विशेष रूप से निशाना बनाते हुए ऐसी धमकी भरी सामग्री सामने आई है।
इससे पहले ईरानी कट्टरपंथी मीडिया में डोनाल्ड ट्रंप और अमेरिका की प्रथम महिला मेलानिया ट्रंप के खिलाफ भी धमकी भरी सामग्री प्रसारित हो चुकी है।
अमेरिकी मीडिया रिपोर्टों और अधिकारियों के अनुसार, इस वीडियो को ट्रंप परिवार को निशाना बनाने वाली व्यापक गतिविधियों के संदर्भ में भी देखा जा रहा है।
इससे पहले ईरानी मीडिया से जुड़ी रिपोर्टों में मेलानिया ट्रंप की न्यूयॉर्क में गतिविधियों और उनकी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की कथित कमजोरियों पर चर्चा करने वाला एक वीडियो सामने आया था।
मई में इवांका ट्रंप को लेकर भी कथित खतरे से जुड़ी खबरें प्रकाशित हुई थीं।
डोनाल्ड ट्रंप स्वयं भी लंबे समय से ईरानी मीडिया की धमकी भरी बयानबाजी और प्रचार सामग्री का केंद्र रहे हैं। जुलाई में तेहरान में लगाए गए एक होर्डिंग में उन्हें कथित तौर पर ताबूत में मृत दिखाया गया था।
इसके अलावा, एक अन्य वीडियो में फ्लोरिडा और न्यूयॉर्क में उनके आवासों तथा हवाई अड्डों के बीच उनकी मोटरकेड के संभावित मार्ग को दर्शाने का दावा किया गया था।
उस समय भी अमेरिकी सीक्रेट सर्विस ने कहा था कि वह संबंधित सामग्री की समीक्षा कर रही है।
ताजा घटनाक्रम अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच बढ़े तनाव की पृष्ठभूमि में सामने आया है। दोनों देशों के बीच संबंधों में लंबे समय से तनाव बना हुआ है, विशेषकर 2020 में अमेरिकी हमले में ईरानी सैन्य कमांडर कासिम सुलेमानी की मौत के बाद।
ईरानी अधिकारियों ने उसके बाद से कई बार प्रतिशोध की चेतावनी दी है।
हालिया रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, ईरानी सरकारी और राज्य-संबद्ध मीडिया में अमेरिकी-इजराइली हमलों के बाद “क़िसास” यानी प्रतिशोधात्मक न्याय की इस्लामी अवधारणा का भी उल्लेख किया गया है।
ईरानी टिप्पणीकार मोहम्मद-जवाद लारीजानी ने प्रतिशोध को इस्लामिक गणराज्य का “अहस्तांतरणीय अधिकार” बताया, जबकि एक अन्य टिप्पणीकार मोहसेन गनबरियन ने ऐसी कार्रवाई न होने की स्थिति में ईरानी नेतृत्व की सुरक्षा को लेकर गंभीर आशंकाएं व्यक्त कीं।
फिलहाल अमेरिकी सीक्रेट सर्विस ने यह स्पष्ट नहीं किया है कि बैरन ट्रंप को लेकर प्रसारित इस वीडियो के बाद उनकी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था में कोई विशेष बदलाव किया गया है या नहीं।
एजेंसी का कहना है कि वह वीडियो से अवगत है और संभावित खतरे से जुड़ी सामग्री की जांच कर रही है, लेकिन सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के परिचालन विवरण सार्वजनिक नहीं किए जाएंगे।
