Lucknow Aliganj Fire: SIT Begins Investigation, Visits Tragedy Site and Injured Victims at KGMU
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday formally launched its investigation into the devastating Aliganj fire incident in Lucknow, carrying out a comprehensive inspection of the damaged building and meeting survivors receiving treatment at King George’s Medical University (KGMU).
The probe aims to establish the exact cause of the fire and identify any lapses that may have contributed to the tragedy.
The two-member inquiry panel was formed on the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
It is headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism and Culture) Amrit Abhijat and Additional Director General of Police (Lucknow Zone) Praveen Kumar.
During their visit, the officers spent more than an hour examining different portions of the fire-ravaged structure, where at least 15 people lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries.
Investigators carefully documented the scene using photographs while assessing the building’s layout, fire safety measures, and structural condition.
Officials said the inspection focused on understanding how the blaze started, how it spread so rapidly, and whether any shortcomings in safety arrangements or regulatory compliance played a role.
Speaking to the media, Amrit Abhijat said the investigation was progressing through scientific evidence and witness statements.
He noted that statements from survivors, residents, and officials associated with the building would be recorded.
According to him, testimony from those injured in the incident, along with physical evidence collected at the site, will be crucial in determining the sequence of events and establishing accountability.
ADG Praveen Kumar said the investigation would examine the responsibilities of every department involved in the building’s operation and maintenance.
He added that forensic experts had already collected important evidence from the scene, which would guide the next phase of questioning.
No department linked to the incident, he said, would be kept outside the scope of the inquiry.
Following the site inspection, the SIT members visited KGMU Hospital, where they interacted with those injured in the fire.
Officials believe the firsthand accounts of survivors will help investigators reconstruct the events leading up to the blaze and provide valuable insights into how the tragedy unfolded.
At the same time, a team from the Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), led by Director Adarsh Kumar, carried out a detailed scientific examination of the site.
The forensic experts collected debris, burnt electrical appliances, damaged wiring, and other materials for laboratory analysis.
These samples will be examined to determine the origin of the fire and detect any electrical faults, technical failures, or violations of prescribed safety norms.
The state government constituted the SIT after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally inspected the fire site on Monday and later visited the injured victims at KGMU Hospital.
The committee has been directed to complete its inquiry and submit a detailed report within seven days.
Meanwhile, the investigation has already led to action against several individuals.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident, while four government officials have been placed under suspension as authorities continue to examine allegations of negligence, administrative failures, and possible violations of safety regulations that may have contributed to the deadly fire.
लखनऊ अलीगंज अग्निकांड: एसआईटी ने शुरू की जांच, घटनास्थल और केजीएमयू में घायलों से की मुलाकात
लखनऊ के अलीगंज अग्निकांड की जांच के लिए गठित विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) ने मंगलवार को औपचारिक रूप से अपनी पड़ताल शुरू कर दी। टीम ने आग से पूरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त इमारत का विस्तृत निरीक्षण किया और किंग जॉर्ज मेडिकल यूनिवर्सिटी (केजीएमयू) में भर्ती घायलों से मुलाकात कर घटना की प्रत्यक्ष जानकारी जुटाई। जांच का उद्देश्य आग लगने के वास्तविक कारणों का पता लगाना और किसी भी प्रकार की लापरवाही या चूक की जिम्मेदारी तय करना है।
मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के निर्देश पर गठित दो सदस्यीय एसआईटी में अपर मुख्य सचिव (पर्यटन एवं संस्कृति) अमित अभिजात और अपर पुलिस महानिदेशक (लखनऊ जोन) प्रवीण कुमार शामिल हैं। दोनों अधिकारियों ने एक घंटे से अधिक समय तक आग से प्रभावित भवन के विभिन्न हिस्सों का बारीकी से निरीक्षण किया। इस हादसे में अब तक कम से कम 15 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है, जबकि कई अन्य घायल हुए हैं।
जांच टीम ने पूरे घटनास्थल का फोटोग्राफिक रिकॉर्ड तैयार किया और भवन की संरचना, अग्नि सुरक्षा व्यवस्था तथा अन्य सुरक्षा मानकों का गहन परीक्षण किया। अधिकारियों के अनुसार, यह समझने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है कि आग कैसे लगी, इतनी तेजी से कैसे फैली और क्या सुरक्षा उपायों या नियमों के पालन में किसी प्रकार की कमी रही।
मीडिया से बातचीत करते हुए अमित अभिजात ने बताया कि जांच वैज्ञानिक साक्ष्यों और प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के बयानों के आधार पर आगे बढ़ रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि घायलों, स्थानीय लोगों तथा भवन से जुड़े अधिकारियों के बयान दर्ज किए जाएंगे। घटनास्थल से एकत्र किए गए साक्ष्य और पीड़ितों की जानकारी जांच में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगी तथा जिम्मेदार लोगों की पहचान करने में मदद करेगी।
एडीजी प्रवीण कुमार ने कहा कि भवन के संचालन और रखरखाव से जुड़े सभी विभागों की भूमिका की जांच की जा रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि फोरेंसिक विशेषज्ञों ने घटनास्थल से महत्वपूर्ण साक्ष्य एकत्र किए हैं, जिनके आधार पर आगे पूछताछ की जाएगी। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि इस जांच के दायरे से किसी भी संबंधित विभाग को बाहर नहीं रखा जाएगा।
घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण करने के बाद एसआईटी के सदस्य केजीएमयू अस्पताल पहुंचे, जहां उन्होंने घायलों से मुलाकात कर पूरी घटना की जानकारी ली। अधिकारियों का मानना है कि प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों और जीवित बचे लोगों के बयान आग लगने से पहले और उसके दौरान हुई घटनाओं की पूरी श्रृंखला समझने में महत्वपूर्ण साबित होंगे।
इसी दौरान उत्तर प्रदेश फोरेंसिक साइंस लैबोरेटरी (एफएसएल) की टीम, निदेशक आदर्श कुमार के नेतृत्व में, घटनास्थल पर वैज्ञानिक जांच में जुटी रही। टीम ने मलबा, जले हुए विद्युत उपकरण, क्षतिग्रस्त तार और अन्य सामग्री के नमूने एकत्र किए हैं। इनकी प्रयोगशाला में जांच कर आग लगने की वास्तविक वजह, संभावित तकनीकी खराबी और सुरक्षा मानकों के उल्लंघन का पता लगाया जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ द्वारा सोमवार को घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण करने और बाद में केजीएमयू में घायलों से मुलाकात करने के बाद राज्य सरकार ने एसआईटी का गठन किया था। जांच समिति को सात दिनों के भीतर अपनी विस्तृत रिपोर्ट सरकार को सौंपने का निर्देश दिया गया है।
इस बीच, मामले में कार्रवाई भी तेज हो गई है। अब तक चार लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया जा चुका है, जबकि चार सरकारी अधिकारियों को निलंबित किया गया है। सरकार हादसे में संभावित लापरवाही, प्रशासनिक विफलताओं और सुरक्षा नियमों के उल्लंघन की हर पहलू से जांच कर रही है।
