Mother’s Body Found Near Crime Scene in Ambedkar Nagar Sibling Murder Case; Police Probe Deepens

Ambedkar Nagar: In a shocking development in the case involving the killing of four siblings in Akbarpur, the body of their mother—who had been named as the prime suspect—was discovered on Sunday, adding a new layer of mystery to the incident.

The woman, identified as Gasiya Khatun, was found inside a sack in a drain located about 100 meters from the crime scene in Muradabad, Meerapur locality.

While no visible injury marks were found on her body, the possibility of foul play has not been ruled out. Police officials say they are examining all angles, including whether it was a case of murder or suicide.

Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh stated that the investigation is ongoing and multiple possibilities are being considered.

Following the brutal killing of the four children, both the Crime Branch and local police had been actively searching for the mother.

On Sunday, authorities conducted a drone-assisted search operation, during which her body was recovered around 6 pm. The identity was later confirmed by her husband.

Investigators are also exploring the possible involvement of a third person in the case. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify any suspicious movements.

Meanwhile, the postmortem of the four children was conducted late Saturday night at the government medical college in Sadarpur under strict camera surveillance.

According to preliminary findings, the children died after being struck on the head with a heavy object. It remains unclear whether they were administered any intoxicants or poison; viscera samples have been preserved for forensic analysis.

The final rites of the children were performed in their ancestral village, Kasda, under the Mahrua police station limits, as the community continues to grapple with the tragedy.
