Naini Student Dies by Suicide After Alleged Blackmail; Family Accuses Girlfriend of Harassment
Prayagraj: A 19-year-old student from Naini in Prayagraj allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself in his rented room.
The incident took place at his rented accommodation in Lokpur, Jahanvipuram.
After receiving information, the police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Investigators also recovered a suicide note from the room, which has become a key part of the probe.
The deceased has been identified as Anshuman, the younger son of Rajeshwari Prasad Singh, a resident of Korav village.
According to the family, Anshuman had left home nearly six months ago to meet the girl he had befriended through Instagram.
Family Alleges Girlfriend and Her Relatives Forced Him Into Taking the Extreme Step
Police said the student was in a relationship with a young woman from Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.
The two reportedly became acquainted through Instagram and remained in contact for some time before a dispute developed between them. The disagreement eventually came to the notice of both families.
According to the complaint filed by Anshuman’s relatives, the young woman first visited his ancestral home in Korav on Friday, accompanied by her maternal uncle. She later reached the student’s rented room in Lokpur.
During this period, the family alleges that she repeatedly pressured Anshuman to transfer money to her, claiming she would otherwise involve him in legal trouble.
The student’s father has accused the woman of threatening to implicate his son in a false rape case if he refused to pay.
Distressed by the alleged intimidation and continuous pressure, Anshuman is believed to have taken the extreme step. Police have registered the complaint and are investigating all allegations from every angle.

मृतक की पहचान कोरांव निवासी राजेंद्र प्रसाद सिंह के छोटे बेटे अंशुमान के रूप में हुई है। परिजनों के अनुसार, वह करीब डेढ़ वर्ष पहले पढ़ाई के लिए घर छोड़कर लोहगढ़ में रह रहा था।

पुलिस के मुताबिक, अंशुमान की पहचान मध्य प्रदेश के सागर जिले की एक युवती से इंस्टाग्राम के माध्यम से हुई थी। दोनों के बीच कुछ समय तक बातचीत होती रही, लेकिन बाद में किसी बात को लेकर विवाद हो गया। धीरे-धीरे यह मामला दोनों परिवारों तक पहुंच गया।
परिजनों का आरोप है कि शुक्रवार को युवती अपने मामा के साथ पहले अंशुमान के पैतृक गांव कोरांव पहुंची और बाद में लोकपुर. स्थित उसके किराए के कमरे पर भी गई।
परिवार का दावा है कि युवती लगातार अंशुमान पर रुपये देने का दबाव बना रही थी और पैसे नहीं देने पर उसे कानूनी मामले में फंसाने की धमकी दे रही थी।
मृतक के पिता ने शिकायत में आरोप लगाया है कि युवती ने अंशुमान को झूठे दुष्कर्म के मुकदमे में फंसाने की चेतावनी दी थी।
परिजनों का कहना है कि इसी कथित मानसिक प्रताड़ना और दबाव से परेशान होकर उसने आत्मघाती कदम उठाया। पुलिस ने मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है और सभी आरोपों की निष्पक्षता से पड़ताल की जा रही है।
