‘Our Fight Has Just Begun’: CJP Vows to Expand Nationwide Campaign Despite Dharmendra Pradhan’s Exit
What the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) describes as its biggest political victory so far has also become the starting point of a much larger campaign.
Even after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned following weeks of protests over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy, the organisation has made it clear that its agitation is far from over.
Instead, its leaders say the focus will now shift from street demonstrations to building a nationwide movement aimed at overhauling India’s education system.
Sharing his first public message after the minister’s resignation, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke released a video on social media platform X, expressing gratitude to supporters who stood by the organisation during its 37-day nationwide agitation.
He acknowledged that thousands of volunteers and sympathisers across the country transformed what began as a protest into a people’s movement by demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in national examinations.
Looking back on the month-long campaign, Dipke said the past several weeks had been physically and mentally exhausting for both him and his colleagues.
He remarked that, after many days of uncertainty, he could finally spend a night at home without constantly worrying about planning the next protest or anticipating how events would unfold through the day.
Despite celebrating what he called an important achievement, the CJP founder urged supporters not to treat the minister’s resignation as the end of the struggle.
He reiterated that the organisation’s long-term mission remained unchanged and stressed that the campaign for educational reforms had only entered its next phase.
Extending an emotional message of appreciation, Dipke thanked supporters from every part of India for placing their faith in the organisation even when many doubted its ability to sustain such a prolonged movement.
According to him, public trust, encouragement and unwavering support enabled the campaign to gather momentum and eventually achieve one of its principal objectives.
Special recognition was also given to volunteers who remained at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar throughout the 37-day protest.
Dipke said their commitment and resilience formed the backbone of the movement and acknowledged that the campaign’s success would not have been possible without their continuous presence on the ground.
Rather than criticising those who questioned the organisation, Dipke chose to acknowledge them as well.
He observed that criticism and difficult questions had helped the CJP identify weaknesses, improve its functioning and communicate its objectives more effectively.
Constructive scrutiny, he said, ultimately strengthened the movement instead of weakening it.
Explaining his absence from Jantar Mantar after the resignation announcement, Dipke apologised to supporters who had gathered there hoping to meet him.
He disclosed that he had been diagnosed with typhoid and was suffering from a high fever of around 101 degrees, leaving him with no option but to return home on medical advice.
The Cockroach Janta Party was launched in May 2026 after remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a Supreme Court hearing triggered widespread debate and political satire.
His oral observations, widely interpreted as comparing some Indian youth to “cockroaches”, became the catalyst for the formation of the organisation and the campaign that followed.
As public attention around the issue intensified, the Chief Justice later clarified that his observations had been misunderstood and quoted without their proper context.
He explained that his criticism had been directed exclusively at individuals who had allegedly entered the legal profession through forged academic qualifications and not at the country’s youth.
Elaborating on his position, the Chief Justice said similar elements had also infiltrated other respected professions, including sections of the media and social media, which was why he had described them as “parasites”.
He firmly rejected suggestions that he had insulted India’s younger generation, emphasising that he held immense respect for the country’s youth and regarded them as one of its greatest strengths.
Reaffirming that clarification during proceedings in the Supreme Court on Friday, Justice Surya Kant once again stated that his “cockroach” remarks were confined to those who had allegedly secured entry into the legal profession using fake degrees.
He stressed that the observations were never intended to describe or demean the youth of India.

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे को कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) ने अपनी सबसे बड़ी उपलब्धि तो माना है, लेकिन संगठन का कहना है कि उसका संघर्ष अभी समाप्त नहीं हुआ है।
पार्टी नेतृत्व का दावा है कि कथित नीट प्रश्नपत्र लीक प्रकरण को लेकर शुरू हुआ आंदोलन अब एक व्यापक जनअभियान का रूप लेगा, जिसका लक्ष्य केवल जवाबदेही तय करना नहीं बल्कि देश की शिक्षा व्यवस्था में व्यापक सुधार सुनिश्चित करना है।
इस्तीफे के बाद पहली बार सार्वजनिक रूप से सामने आए सीजेपी के संस्थापक अभिजीत दीपके ने सोशल मीडिया मंच एक्स पर एक वीडियो संदेश जारी कर देशभर के समर्थकों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया।
उन्होंने कहा कि हजारों युवाओं, छात्रों और स्वयंसेवकों ने 37 दिनों तक लगातार आंदोलन का साथ देकर इस अभियान को राष्ट्रीय स्वरूप प्रदान किया और सरकार को उनकी प्रमुख मांगों पर विचार करने के लिए बाध्य किया।
बीते दिनों को याद करते हुए दीपके ने कहा कि आंदोलन का प्रत्येक दिन उनके और पूरी टीम के लिए चुनौतीपूर्ण रहा।
उन्होंने बताया कि लंबे समय बाद उन्हें ऐसा अवसर मिला है जब वह अपने घर में चैन से सो सकते हैं और सुबह उठते ही अगले प्रदर्शन या दिनभर की रणनीति को लेकर बेचैनी महसूस नहीं करनी पड़ रही।
हालांकि उन्होंने इसे आंदोलन की महत्वपूर्ण सफलता बताया, लेकिन समर्थकों से अपील की कि इसे अंतिम जीत न समझा जाए।
उनके अनुसार यह केवल उस लंबे संघर्ष की शुरुआत है, जिसके माध्यम से संगठन शिक्षा व्यवस्था में पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और संस्थागत सुधार लाने का प्रयास करेगा।
भावुक होते हुए दीपके ने देशभर के उन लोगों का विशेष रूप से धन्यवाद किया जिन्होंने कठिन समय में संगठन पर विश्वास बनाए रखा।
उन्होंने कहा कि जब अनेक लोग इस आंदोलन की सफलता को लेकर संशय में थे, तब आम नागरिकों और युवाओं का भरोसा ही उनकी सबसे बड़ी ताकत बना और उसी ने इस अभियान को निरंतर आगे बढ़ाया।
दिल्ली के जंतर-मंतर पर लगातार 37 दिनों तक डटे रहे स्वयंसेवकों का उल्लेख करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि उनके धैर्य, अनुशासन और समर्पण के बिना यह आंदोलन कभी सफल नहीं हो सकता था। उन्होंने इसे राष्ट्रहित में दिया गया एक महत्वपूर्ण योगदान बताते हुए सभी प्रतिभागियों को सलाम किया।
आलोचकों का भी आभार व्यक्त करते हुए दीपके ने कहा कि विरोध और सवालों ने संगठन को अपनी कमियों को समझने का अवसर दिया।
उन्होंने माना कि रचनात्मक आलोचना के कारण ही सीजेपी अपने कामकाज में सुधार कर सकी और जनता तक अपना संदेश अधिक प्रभावी ढंग से पहुंचाने में सफल रही।
जंतर-मंतर पर उपस्थित समर्थकों से मुलाकात न कर पाने पर उन्होंने खेद भी व्यक्त किया। दीपके ने बताया कि उन्हें टायफाइड हो गया है और उस समय उनका शरीर का तापमान लगभग 101 डिग्री तक पहुंच गया था।
चिकित्सकों की सलाह पर उन्हें कार्यक्रम बीच में छोड़कर घर लौटना पड़ा, जिसके कारण वह समर्थकों का व्यक्तिगत रूप से धन्यवाद नहीं दे सके।
कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी का गठन मई 2026 में उस समय हुआ था जब भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत की एक मौखिक टिप्पणी ने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बहस छेड़ दी थी।
अदालत की कार्यवाही के दौरान की गई उस टिप्पणी को व्यापक रूप से इस रूप में देखा गया कि उन्होंने कुछ भारतीय युवाओं की तुलना “कॉकरोच” से की है।
यही विवाद बाद में राजनीतिक व्यंग्य और इस संगठन की स्थापना का आधार बना।
जैसे-जैसे आंदोलन को देशभर में समर्थन मिलता गया, मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने अपने वक्तव्य पर स्पष्टीकरण जारी करते हुए कहा कि उनके शब्दों को संदर्भ से अलग करके प्रस्तुत किया गया।
उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि उनकी टिप्पणी केवल उन लोगों के लिए थी जिन्होंने कथित रूप से फर्जी डिग्रियों के आधार पर विधि पेशे में प्रवेश किया था, न कि देश के समस्त युवाओं के लिए।
मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने यह भी कहा कि इसी प्रकार के लोग मीडिया, सोशल मीडिया और अन्य प्रतिष्ठित क्षेत्रों में भी प्रवेश कर चुके हैं, इसलिए उन्होंने उन्हें “परजीवी” कहा था।
उन्होंने इस आरोप को पूरी तरह निराधार बताया कि उन्होंने भारत के युवाओं का अपमान किया है और कहा कि देश की युवा शक्ति पर उन्हें गर्व है तथा वही भारत के भविष्य की सबसे बड़ी ताकत है।
शुक्रवार को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय की कार्यवाही के दौरान भी न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत ने अपने रुख को दोहराते हुए कहा कि “कॉकरोच” संबंधी उनकी टिप्पणी केवल उन व्यक्तियों के संदर्भ में थी जिन्होंने कथित रूप से फर्जी शैक्षणिक प्रमाणपत्रों के आधार पर वकालत के पेशे में प्रवेश किया था।
उन्होंने दोहराया कि इस टिप्पणी का भारत के युवाओं से कोई संबंध नहीं था और उनके प्रति उनके मन में सदैव सम्मान का भाव है।
