PM Modi’s Open Letter to Amarnath Pilgrims: ‘Strengthen National Unity Along with Spiritual Devotion’
New Delhi: Ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written an open letter to devotees preparing for the pilgrimage.
In his message, he appealed to every pilgrim to become a messenger of national unity while undertaking the sacred journey.
He said the centuries-old tradition of the Amarnath Yatra is not only a source of spiritual strength but also a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage and collective spirit.
Highlighting the significance of the pilgrimage, the Prime Minister urged devotees to strictly follow all safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness throughout the journey.
He stressed that every pilgrim should respect the rules laid down by the administration so that the yatra remains safe, orderly and environmentally responsible.
In his letter, PM Modi noted that every year the Amarnath Yatra begins with the traditional Pratham Puja, after which lakhs of devotees from different parts of the country travel to the holy cave shrine.
According to him, this sacred pilgrimage not only fills people with spiritual energy but also reinforces the feeling of oneness that defines India’s diverse society.
The Prime Minister further observed that people from different states, speaking different languages and following different traditions, come together with the same faith to seek the blessings of Baba Amarnath.
He described the pilgrimage as a living example of India’s cultural unity, where service, devotion, and mutual respect are reflected in every step of the journey.
Appreciating everyone associated with the yatra, PM Modi praised the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, the Army, paramilitary forces, police personnel, civil administration, sanitation workers and volunteers for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
PM Modi Appeals to Pilgrims to Take These Five Pledges
First: Follow cleanliness norms throughout the pilgrimage and ensure that the entire route remains free from litter.
Second: Strictly comply with all instructions issued by the administration, including traffic regulations and security advisories, particularly in view of changing weather conditions.
Third: Purchase at least ten per cent of your travel-related items from local vendors and encourage local handicrafts to strengthen the economy of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth.
Fourth: At the end of the pilgrimage, plant a sapling in memory of the sacred journey and contribute to environmental conservation by nurturing it.
Fifth: Along with the spirit of patriotism, perform your duties with sincerity and actively contribute towards building a developed India.
अमरनाथ यात्रा से पहले पीएम मोदी का संदेश: ‘आस्था के साथ राष्ट्र निर्माण का भी बनें सहभागी’
वार्षिक अमरनाथ यात्रा के शुभारंभ से पहले प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने श्रद्धालुओं के नाम एक खुला पत्र जारी किया है।
उन्होंने सभी यात्रियों से अपील की कि वे इस पवित्र यात्रा के दौरान केवल धार्मिक आस्था तक सीमित न रहें, बल्कि देश की एकता और राष्ट्र निर्माण का संदेश भी जन-जन तक पहुंचाएं।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि अमरनाथ यात्रा सदियों पुरानी भारतीय परंपरा का प्रतीक है, जो आध्यात्मिक ऊर्जा के साथ-साथ हमारी सांस्कृतिक विरासत और राष्ट्रीय एकजुटता को भी सशक्त बनाती है।
अपने संदेश में प्रधानमंत्री ने श्रद्धालुओं से आग्रह किया कि यात्रा के दौरान सभी सुरक्षा मानकों का पूरी गंभीरता से पालन करें और स्वच्छता को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दें। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रशासन द्वारा जारी दिशा-निर्देशों का ईमानदारी से पालन करने से यात्रा सुरक्षित, सुव्यवस्थित और पर्यावरण के अनुकूल बनी रहेगी।
पत्र में प्रधानमंत्री ने उल्लेख किया कि प्रत्येक वर्ष पारंपरिक प्रथम पूजा के साथ अमरनाथ यात्रा का शुभारंभ होता है, जिसके बाद देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से लाखों श्रद्धालु पवित्र गुफा के दर्शन के लिए पहुंचते हैं।
उनके अनुसार यह यात्रा केवल आध्यात्मिक शक्ति ही नहीं देती, बल्कि विविधताओं से भरे भारत में एकता और भाईचारे की भावना को भी और मजबूत करती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि अलग-अलग राज्यों, भाषाओं और परंपराओं से जुड़े श्रद्धालु एक ही विश्वास और श्रद्धा के साथ बाबा अमरनाथ के दर्शन के लिए पहुंचते हैं। यही इस यात्रा की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता है, क्योंकि यह भारतीय सांस्कृतिक एकता, सेवा भावना और पारस्परिक सम्मान का जीवंत उदाहरण प्रस्तुत करती है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने यात्रा के सफल संचालन में योगदान देने वाले सभी लोगों की सराहना की। उन्होंने श्री अमरनाथजी श्राइन बोर्ड, जम्मू-कश्मीर प्रशासन, सेना, अर्धसैनिक बलों, पुलिस, नागरिक प्रशासन, स्वच्छता कर्मियों तथा स्वयंसेवकों के समर्पण और सेवा भावना की विशेष प्रशंसा करते हुए उनके प्रयासों को महत्वपूर्ण बताया।
श्रद्धालुओं से पांच संकल्प लेने की अपील
पहला संकल्प: पूरी यात्रा के दौरान स्वच्छता के नियमों का पालन करें और यात्रा मार्ग पर कहीं भी कचरा न फैलाएं।
दूसरा संकल्प: प्रशासन द्वारा जारी सभी दिशा-निर्देशों, यातायात नियमों और सुरक्षा संबंधी सलाह का पूरी निष्ठा से पालन करें, विशेष रूप से मौसम में होने वाले बदलावों को ध्यान में रखते हुए।
तीसरा संकल्प: यात्रा के दौरान अपनी कुल खरीदारी का कम से कम 10 प्रतिशत हिस्सा स्थानीय दुकानदारों से करें और स्थानीय हस्तशिल्प को बढ़ावा देकर जम्मू-कश्मीर के युवाओं की आजीविका को मजबूती दें।
चौथा संकल्प: यात्रा पूर्ण होने के बाद उसकी स्मृति में एक पौधा अवश्य लगाएं और उसकी देखभाल कर पर्यावरण संरक्षण में अपना योगदान दें।
पांचवां संकल्प: राष्ट्रभक्ति की भावना के साथ अपने दायित्वों का ईमानदारी से निर्वहन करें और विकसित भारत के निर्माण में सक्रिय भागीदारी निभाएं।
