Prayagraj Municipal Corporation to Build 1,100 Roads and Lanes; Big Beautification Plan for Four Crossroads Near Signature Cable-Stayed Bridge
The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation is set to undertake a massive infrastructure push in the current financial year, with plans to construct and upgrade 1,100 roads, lanes and drains across the city.
The ambitious initiative is aimed at strengthening civic infrastructure and improving basic amenities in both densely populated and developing areas.
Under the proposal, corporators from all 100 municipal wards have been asked to submit recommendations for the construction of roads, streets and drainage systems.
Each ward councillor has been directed to identify and prioritise 10 development works requiring immediate attention.
Nearly all corporators have already submitted their recommendations to the Municipal Commissioner, with each list containing around 10 projects related to road and drain construction.
According to civic officials, the proposed works will be carried out after carefully assessing the specific requirements of every ward. The administration intends to prioritise projects based on local needs and public convenience.
Areas suffering from poor road connectivity, damaged lanes and inadequate drainage facilities will receive special attention.
Localities grappling with chronic waterlogging and sanitation issues are also expected to be given priority.
In another major urban development initiative, the city administration has unveiled plans to transform the four crossroads connected to the newly constructed Signature Cable-Stayed Bridge over the Ganga River.
A large-scale beautification drive has already been initiated to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding areas and create a more welcoming gateway to the city.
The crossroads linked to the bridge are set to receive prominent artistic installations and decorative structures.
Officials are preparing to install large sculptures and attractive landscaping elements to give the area a distinctive identity.
The beautification exercise is also expected to significantly improve the visual appeal of one of Prayagraj’s most important infrastructure projects.
The Signature Cable-Stayed Bridge has remained a major talking point among residents ever since its inauguration.
To complement the landmark structure, the Municipal Corporation, in coordination with the Public Works Department and the Bridge Corporation, has formulated an integrated development plan for the adjoining intersections.
Under the proposal, the crossroads connected to the bridge will be redesigned with modern landscaping features, artistic installations and improved civic amenities.
Authorities believe the initiative will not only beautify the area but also enhance the overall urban experience for residents and visitors.
