Prayagraj Plans Integrated Metro and Ropeway Stations to Cut Costs, Aerocity to Get High-Rise Development

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to develop metro and ropeway stations together in Prayagraj in an effort to reduce construction expenses and optimise land use.

Authorities have begun exploring the possibility of constructing both transport facilities within a single integrated campus, a move expected to make the project more economical and convenient for commuters.

According to officials, separate stations for the metro and ropeway would require a significantly larger land parcel and substantially increase acquisition costs.

Preliminary estimates suggest that land needed for independent facilities would cost around ₹110 crore.

By integrating the two stations, the requirement can be brought down to nearly 10,000 square metres, resulting in considerable savings.

The proposed development is planned near the Parade Ground area, where both metro and ropeway services are expected to operate. T

The integrated transport hub will also include parking facilities and other passenger amenities, ensuring seamless connectivity between the two modes of transport.

Aerocity to Permit Buildings Up to 120 Metres

As part of the city’s broader urban development strategy, authorities are also planning an ambitious Aerocity project.

The proposed township will permit the construction of buildings up to 120 metres in height, paving the way for modern high-rise developments in Prayagraj.

Officials are working on preparing the required infrastructure and regulatory framework for the project.

The Aerocity initiative is expected to attract investments and transform the surrounding areas into a major commercial and residential destination.

Proposal for AI City Near Aerocity

The government is also considering the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) City in the vicinity of Aerocity.

The proposed project aims to create a technology-driven ecosystem equipped with modern infrastructure and facilities for innovation and research.

Land acquisition and planning exercises are currently underway, with authorities evaluating various proposals to establish the futuristic development zone.

Nandigram Park to Feature a Flower Valley

In another beautification initiative, the Nandigram Park in Kalindipuram is set to be transformed with the creation of a Flower Valley. The project will include extensive landscaping and colourful floral displays, offering residents and visitors a scenic recreational space.

Officials said the park’s redevelopment is intended to enhance the city’s green cover and provide a vibrant public destination for leisure and tourism.

New Mega Park Planned in the State

The state government is also preparing to develop another mega park to promote picnics and recreational activities.

A detailed project report is being prepared, and the initiative is expected to become an important public attraction once completed.

The series of projects—including the integrated metro-ropeway station, Aerocity, AI City, and new parks—reflects Prayagraj’s push towards modern infrastructure, sustainable urban planning, and improved public amenities.
