Prayagraj Targets Over 71 Lakh Saplings on July 12: DM Manish Kumar Verma Orders Mission-Mode Plantation Drive
Prayagraj: Preparations for the massive tree plantation campaign scheduled for July 12 have gathered momentum in Prayagraj, with District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma directing all departments to complete their assigned responsibilities well before the deadline.
Stressing that protecting nature is a collective responsibility rather than merely an administrative exercise, the District Magistrate urged officials to transform the plantation programme into a people’s movement by encouraging maximum public participation.
The review meeting of the District Tree Plantation Committee was held on Wednesday at Sangam Auditorium in the presence of Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Kumar Yadav, and senior district officials.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate said that nature nurtures humanity and deserves to be protected with commitment and sincerity.
He asked every department to work beyond routine official duties and motivate citizens to actively participate in the plantation campaign.
Highlighting the importance of long-term environmental conservation, Verma said the success of the campaign would not be measured merely by the number of saplings planted but by how many survive and grow into trees.
He directed all departments to ensure proper maintenance and protection of every sapling after plantation.
Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Kumar Yadav informed the meeting that a total of 71,05,300 saplings are proposed to be planted across the district during July.
The Forest Department has been assigned the highest target of 24 lakh saplings, followed by the Rural Development Department with 23.72 lakh saplings.
The District Magistrate sought a detailed progress report from every department regarding preparations for the mega campaign.
Officials were asked to furnish information on identified plantation sites, total area earmarked, the number of pits already dug, and the plantation targets fixed for each location.
He instructed departments to coordinate with local nurseries immediately to procure healthy, well-grown saplings so that transportation and distribution could be completed safely and on time.
Emphasising transparency and digital monitoring, Verma directed all departments to ensure that every planted sapling is geo-tagged without exception.
He instructed officials to upload the geo-tagged details on the Haritima App immediately after plantation, warning that negligence at any stage of the process would not be tolerated.
Special attention was also given to the Miyawaki plantation model, under which 150 plantation sites have been identified in rural areas.
The District Magistrate directed officials to ensure the availability of robust multi-species saplings, complete fencing around plantation sites, uninterrupted irrigation facilities, deployment of adequate manpower for maintenance, and proper soil preparation before plantation begins.
He also reiterated that geo-tagging of every sapling planted under the Miyawaki model must be completed with 100 percent accuracy.
Calling the campaign a district-wide green mission, Verma instructed departments to identify large stretches of land for plantation and ensure participation from every section of society.
He directed the District Panchayati Raj Officer to hold meetings with village heads, the Basic Education Officer to coordinate with teachers of primary and junior schools, the District Inspector of Schools to engage government and private educational institutions, and the Regional Higher Education Officer to organise an online interaction with college principals under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate.
To expand public participation, the District Magistrate asked departments to involve trade bodies, industrial organisations, labour groups, farmers’ associations, petrol pump operators, brick kiln owners, and other community organisations.
He said a separate meeting under his chairmanship would be organised with representatives of these sectors to ensure widespread public involvement.
He also instructed officials to actively involve elected public representatives so that the plantation drive develops into a true mass movement.
The District Magistrate further directed that plantation should be undertaken at all Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
He also recommended selecting major roads where saplings of a single species could be planted in a thematic pattern to create attractive green corridors across the district.
Reviewing the preparedness of industrial establishments, Verma made it clear that tree plantation would be mandatory for all industries. If industrial units face a shortage of land, suitable government land may be identified and made available for plantation.
He also instructed Public Works Department officials to coordinate with the National Highways Authority, NH projects, and UPDA to finalise plantation plans along highways and ensure foolproof arrangements for protecting the saplings.
The Municipal Corporation was directed to prioritise plantation in newly expanded urban areas where green cover remains inadequate.
Officials were also instructed to identify every available roadside location suitable for plantation and maximise the number of saplings planted there.
The District Magistrate further called for an extensive public awareness campaign through public address systems, display boards, social media platforms, and other communication channels to encourage citizens to participate enthusiastically.
Concluding the meeting, Verma asked every department to document its best work through photographs and success stories for wider publicity.
He also instructed all Block Development Officers to organise plantation programmes in their respective areas and ensure the active participation of elected representatives to make the district-wide campaign a grand success.

प्रयागराज: 12 जुलाई को आयोजित होने वाले वृहद वृक्षारोपण अभियान को लेकर प्रयागराज प्रशासन ने तैयारियां तेज कर दी हैं। जिलाधिकारी मनीष कुमार वर्मा ने सभी संबंधित विभागों को निर्धारित समय सीमा के भीतर तैयारियां पूरी करने के निर्देश देते हुए कहा कि यह केवल सरकारी कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि प्रकृति संरक्षण का जनआंदोलन बनना चाहिए।
उन्होंने अधिकारियों से अधिक से अधिक लोगों को इस अभियान से जोड़ने और पर्यावरण संरक्षण को जनभागीदारी से मजबूत बनाने का आह्वान किया।
बुधवार को संगम सभागार में जिला वृक्षारोपण समिति की समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित हुई। बैठक में मुख्य विकास अधिकारी हर्षिका सिंह, प्रभागीय वनाधिकारी अरविंद कुमार यादव तथा विभिन्न विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।
जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि प्रकृति मानव जीवन का आधार है और उसकी रक्षा करना प्रत्येक नागरिक की जिम्मेदारी है। उन्होंने सभी विभागों से औपचारिकता से आगे बढ़कर मिशन मोड में कार्य करने और लोगों को पौधरोपण के लिए प्रेरित करने को कहा।
जिलाधिकारी ने स्पष्ट किया कि अभियान की सफलता केवल पौधे लगाने से नहीं, बल्कि उन्हें सुरक्षित रखकर वृक्ष बनने तक उनकी देखभाल सुनिश्चित करने से तय होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक विभाग पौधों की सुरक्षा और नियमित देखरेख को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दे।
बैठक में प्रभागीय वनाधिकारी अरविंद कुमार यादव ने बताया कि जुलाई माह में जिले में कुल 71 लाख 5 हजार 300 पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है। इसमें वन विभाग को 24 लाख तथा ग्राम विकास विभाग को 23.72 लाख पौधों का सबसे बड़ा लक्ष्य सौंपा गया है।
बैठक के दौरान जिलाधिकारी ने सभी विभागों से वृक्षारोपण की तैयारियों की विस्तृत जानकारी ली। उन्होंने चिन्हित स्थलों की संख्या, कुल क्षेत्रफल, लक्ष्य के अनुरूप खोदे गए गड्ढों की स्थिति तथा प्रत्येक स्थान पर लगाए जाने वाले पौधों की संख्या की समीक्षा की।
साथ ही स्थानीय नर्सरियों से समन्वय स्थापित कर बड़े और गुणवत्तापूर्ण पौधों की समय रहते उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए ताकि परिवहन और रोपण में किसी प्रकार की कठिनाई न आए।
डिजिटल निगरानी पर विशेष जोर देते हुए जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि लगाए गए प्रत्येक पौधे की जियो टैगिंग अनिवार्य रूप से कराई जाए और उसका विवरण हरितिमा ऐप पर तत्काल अपलोड किया जाए। उन्होंने स्पष्ट चेतावनी दी कि इस कार्य में किसी भी स्तर पर लापरवाही स्वीकार नहीं की जाएगी।
बैठक में मियावाकी पद्धति के तहत ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में चयनित 150 स्थलों पर विशेष वृक्षारोपण की तैयारियों की भी समीक्षा की गई।
जिलाधिकारी ने विभिन्न प्रजातियों के मजबूत पौधे उपलब्ध कराने, सभी स्थलों की फेंसिंग, सिंचाई की समुचित व्यवस्था, रखरखाव के लिए पर्याप्त मानव संसाधन तथा पौधरोपण से पहले मिट्टी की वैज्ञानिक तैयारी सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए।
उन्होंने इन सभी स्थलों पर लगाए जाने वाले प्रत्येक पौधे की शत-प्रतिशत जियो टैगिंग कराने को भी अनिवार्य बताया।
मनीष कुमार वर्मा ने अभियान को जनभागीदारी से जोड़ने के लिए बड़े भूभाग चिन्हित करने तथा समाज के प्रत्येक वर्ग को इसमें शामिल करने पर बल दिया।
उन्होंने जिला पंचायत राज अधिकारी को ग्राम प्रधानों, बेसिक शिक्षा अधिकारी को प्राथमिक एवं जूनियर विद्यालयों के शिक्षकों, जिला विद्यालय निरीक्षक को सरकारी एवं निजी विद्यालयों तथा क्षेत्रीय उच्च शिक्षा अधिकारी को महाविद्यालयों के प्राचार्यों के साथ ऑनलाइन बैठक आयोजित करने के निर्देश दिए।
उन्होंने उद्योग संगठनों, व्यापार मंडलों, श्रमिक संगठनों, किसान संगठनों, पेट्रोल पंप संचालकों, ईंट-भट्ठा संचालकों और अन्य सामाजिक संस्थाओं को भी इस अभियान से जोड़ने पर जोर दिया।
जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि इन सभी संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों के साथ उनकी अध्यक्षता में अलग बैठक आयोजित कर व्यापक जनसहभागिता सुनिश्चित की जाएगी। उन्होंने सभी जनप्रतिनिधियों की सक्रिय भागीदारी के साथ इस अभियान को जनआंदोलन का स्वरूप देने के निर्देश दिए।
जिलाधिकारी ने सभी सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों (सीएचसी) और प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों (पीएचसी) परिसरों में भी पौधरोपण कराने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने प्रमुख सड़कों का चयन कर एक ही प्रजाति के बड़े पौधे लगाने की योजना तैयार करने को कहा, जिससे जिले में आकर्षक हरित कॉरिडोर विकसित किए जा सकें।
औद्योगिक इकाइयों की तैयारियों की समीक्षा करते हुए जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि प्रत्येक उद्योग परिसर में वृक्षारोपण अनिवार्य होगा। यदि किसी औद्योगिक इकाई के पास पर्याप्त भूमि उपलब्ध नहीं है, तो प्रशासन आवश्यकतानुसार सरकारी भूमि उपलब्ध कराने पर विचार करेगा।
उन्होंने लोक निर्माण विभाग को राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण, यूपीडीए और संबंधित एजेंसियों से समन्वय कर राजमार्गों के किनारे पौधरोपण की विस्तृत कार्ययोजना तैयार करने तथा पौधों की सुरक्षा के लिए प्रभावी व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए।
नगर निगम को निर्देश दिए गए कि विस्तारित शहरी क्षेत्रों में, जहां हरित क्षेत्र अपेक्षाकृत कम हैं, वहां बड़े पैमाने पर पौधरोपण कराया जाए।
सड़क किनारे उपलब्ध प्रत्येक उपयुक्त स्थान की पहचान कर अधिक से अधिक पौधे लगाए जाएं। साथ ही पीए सिस्टम, डिस्प्ले बोर्ड, सोशल मीडिया और अन्य संचार माध्यमों के जरिए व्यापक जनजागरूकता अभियान चलाकर लोगों को वृक्षारोपण से जोड़ने के निर्देश भी दिए गए।
बैठक के अंत में जिलाधिकारी ने सभी विभागों को अपने उत्कृष्ट कार्यों की फोटो और सफलता की कहानियां उपलब्ध कराने के निर्देश दिए ताकि अभियान का व्यापक प्रचार-प्रसार किया जा सके।
उन्होंने सभी खंड विकास अधिकारियों को अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों में वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम आयोजित करने तथा उनमें जनप्रतिनिधियों की सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने को कहा, ताकि 12 जुलाई का यह हरित महाअभियान ऐतिहासिक सफलता प्राप्त कर सके।
