Prayagraj Tragedy: Truck Driver Dies by Suicide After Recording Emotional Video, Alleges Harassment by In-Laws
A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Prayagraj’s Ghoorpur area, where a 30-year-old truck driver allegedly died by suicide after recording an emotional video accusing his in-laws of mentally harassing him.
Before taking the extreme step, he reportedly shared the video with family members, after which it quickly spread across social media and drew widespread attention.
The deceased has been identified as Arvind Tiwari, a resident of Iradatganj Bazaar in the Ghoorpur police station area.
He lived with his mother, wife, and children. Family members said Arvind belonged to a family of truck operators and had built his livelihood through the transport business.
According to relatives, Arvind had purchased two trucks nearly two years ago. While he personally drove one vehicle, the other was operated by a hired driver.
Despite managing his business, family members claimed that he had been under emotional stress for the past several days due to frequent domestic disputes.
Those close to the family alleged that disagreements between Arvind and his wife had become increasingly frequent in recent days.
Neighbours also claimed that an argument reportedly took place at his home on Sunday night. A short while later, Arvind left the house and did not return.
After stepping outside, Arvind allegedly recorded a video on his mobile phone before ending his life by hanging himself. In the video, he reportedly appealed that his wife should not receive any benefits after his death.
He also alleged that his brother-in-law and father-in-law had been mentally troubling him for a long time, saying he was no longer able to bear the constant pressure.
Family members said the video was sent to relatives before the incident came to light.
The emotional recording soon circulated on social media, prompting concern among residents and leading police to begin an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Police reached the spot after receiving information, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Officials said further legal action will be taken after examining the post-mortem report, the video, and statements from family members.
Investigators are also verifying the allegations made in the deceased’s recording.

मृतक की पहचान अरविंद तिवारी के रूप में हुई है, जो धूरपुर थाना क्षेत्र के इरादतगंज बाजार का रहने वाला था। वह अपनी मां, पत्नी और बच्चों के साथ रहता था।
परिजनों के अनुसार, अरविंद ट्रांसपोर्ट व्यवसाय से जुड़ा हुआ था और परिवार के साथ मिलकर ट्रकों का संचालन करता था।
परिवार के लोगों ने बताया कि करीब दो वर्ष पहले अरविंद ने दो ट्रक खरीदे थे। एक ट्रक वह स्वयं चलाता था, जबकि दूसरा चालक के माध्यम से संचालित होता था। परिजनों का कहना है कि पिछले कुछ दिनों से वह घरेलू तनाव के कारण मानसिक रूप से काफी परेशान चल रहा था।
रिश्तेदारों और स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार, पिछले कुछ समय से अरविंद और उसकी पत्नी के बीच अक्सर विवाद हो रहा था। पड़ोसियों ने भी बताया कि रविवार रात घर में एक बार फिर कहासुनी हुई थी। इसके कुछ समय बाद अरविंद घर से निकल गया और फिर वापस नहीं लौटा।
घर से बाहर निकलने के बाद अरविंद ने अपने मोबाइल फोन पर एक वीडियो रिकॉर्ड किया और उसके बाद कथित तौर पर फांसी लगाकर आत्महत्या कर ली।
वीडियो में उसने कहा कि उसकी मौत के बाद उसकी पत्नी को किसी प्रकार का लाभ न मिले।
उसने अपने साले और ससुर पर लंबे समय से मानसिक रूप से प्रताड़ित करने का आरोप भी लगाया और कहा कि वह अब इस तनाव को सहन करने की स्थिति में नहीं है।
परिजनों के अनुसार, आत्महत्या से पहले रिकॉर्ड किया गया वीडियो रिश्तेदारों को भेजा गया था। कुछ ही समय में यह वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो गया, जिसके बाद स्थानीय लोगों में चिंता फैल गई और पुलिस ने पूरे मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी।
सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची, शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट, वायरल वीडियो और परिजनों के बयान के आधार पर आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
साथ ही वीडियो में लगाए गए आरोपों की भी गहनता से जांच की जा रही है।
