Yogi Adityanath Questions Congress, SP Over Waqf Land Silence Amid Ayodhya Row
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched a strong attack on the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing both parties of maintaining complete silence over the alleged illegal sale of Waqf properties while simultaneously claiming that the faith of Hindus has been hurt in Ayodhya.
The Chief Minister remarked that whenever questions are raised about Waqf land, the Opposition’s “mouths appear to be sealed with Fevicol.”
According to him, the same parties that remained quiet over alleged irregularities involving Waqf properties are now trying to corner the Bharatiya Janata Party by raising issues linked to Ayodhya and the Ram Temple.
The BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh have recently faced criticism from Opposition parties over allegations relating to the misappropriation of donations at the Ram Temple.
While the Opposition has projected the controversy as an insult to the Hindu faith, the Uttar Pradesh government has already ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the matter.
Adityanath has repeatedly maintained that the truth will emerge through the investigation and accused the Opposition of practising selective politics.
Addressing a government programme in Pratapgarh district, the Chief Minister alleged that Congress and the Samajwadi Party had ignored what he described as large-scale grabbing and sale of Waqf land for years.
He claimed that despite the seriousness of the issue, neither party ever raised its voice, but both were now attempting to create a political controversy over Ayodhya.
Taking a swipe at both parties, Adityanath said those who once questioned the existence of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna had suddenly begun presenting themselves as protectors of Sanatan traditions.
Referring to the Ayodhya movement, he alleged that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party had earlier stood with supporters of the Babri Masjid and were now changing their stand for political convenience.
The Chief Minister questioned the Opposition’s sudden concern for Ayodhya, asking when their faith had become linked with the holy city.
He asserted that devotees of Lord Ram and families that had struggled for the Ram Janmabhoomi movement had every right to speak about Ayodhya. Still, parties that had opposed the movement could not claim to represent the Hindu faith.
Continuing his criticism, Adityanath alleged that the Congress had denied the existence of Lord Ram, while the Samajwadi Party was responsible for opening fire on Ram devotees during its tenure.
He also accused previous governments of diverting funds meant for the restoration of temples and other religious places towards the construction of boundary walls around graveyards.
Raising the Waqf issue once again, the Chief Minister claimed that thousands of hectares of land across Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country had allegedly been sold illegally in the name of Waqf.
According to him, these properties were meant to benefit poor and weaker sections of society, but instead ended up enriching only a handful of influential people.
Adityanath said the land could have been used to create housing projects, convention centres, commercial complexes and employment opportunities for economically weaker families.
Instead, he alleged, valuable public assets were occupied and sold, depriving ordinary citizens of potential benefits while a select few gained enormous financial advantages.
Referring to the Ram Temple donation controversy, the Chief Minister clarified that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust itself had sought the formation of an SIT to establish the truth.
He said the preliminary findings of the investigation had already resulted in the registration of an FIR and that legal action was progressing in accordance with the law.
Renewing his attack on the Opposition, Adityanath asked why Congress and the Samajwadi Party remained silent whenever allegations regarding Waqf properties surfaced.
He also questioned whether the alleged diversion of money donated by Hindu devotees for purposes other than religious development amounted to hurting the sentiments of the community.
The Chief Minister further alleged that Opposition governments had repeatedly imposed restrictions on religious processions, obstructed traditional yatras and failed to prevent violence during festivals.
He argued that their real discomfort stemmed from the growing popularity of Ayodhya after the construction of the grand Ram Temple.
According to Adityanath, despite repeated attempts to create controversy, millions of devotees continue to visit Ayodhya with unwavering faith.
He said the magnificent Ram Temple now stands at a place where, according to him, some political parties had once preferred to preserve what he described as a symbol of slavery rather than support the aspirations of devotees.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav hit back at the BJP through a post on X.
He claimed that the BJP’s politics centred around religion had run its course and alleged that the ruling party would now increasingly depend on the politics of money. At the same time, corruption and inflation continued to rise.
Sharpening his attack, the SP chief ended his post with the slogan, “Jo BJP ka saathi, woh Ramghati,” accusing supporters of the ruling party of betraying the ideals associated with Lord Ram.
The exchange has further intensified the political battle between the BJP and the Opposition over Ayodhya, Waqf properties and the ongoing Ram Temple donation controversy.
उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने मंगलवार को कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी पर तीखा राजनीतिक हमला बोलते हुए आरोप लगाया कि वक्फ की कथित अवैध जमीनों की बिक्री के मुद्दे पर दोनों दल पूरी तरह चुप्पी साध लेते हैं, लेकिन अयोध्या और राम मंदिर से जुड़े मामलों पर हिंदू आस्था की दुहाई देने लगते हैं।
उन्होंने तंज कसते हुए कहा कि वक्फ का मुद्दा सामने आते ही विपक्ष के नेताओं के मुंह मानो “फेविकोल से चिपक” जाते हैं।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आज कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी अयोध्या की आस्था की चिंता जताने का दिखावा कर रही हैं, जबकि वर्षों तक उन्होंने उन मामलों पर कभी आवाज नहीं उठाई जिनमें वक्फ की संपत्तियों पर कथित कब्जे और उनकी बिक्री के आरोप लगते रहे।
उनके अनुसार, अब राजनीतिक लाभ के लिए वही दल भाजपा को घेरने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।
हाल के दिनों में राम मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं के चढ़ावे में कथित गड़बड़ी को लेकर केंद्र और उत्तर प्रदेश की भाजपा सरकार विपक्ष के निशाने पर रही है। विपक्ष इस पूरे मामले को हिंदू आस्था से जोड़कर सरकार पर हमला कर रहा है।
हालांकि राज्य सरकार पहले ही मामले की जांच के लिए विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) गठित कर चुकी है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जांच के बाद सच्चाई सामने आएगी और दोषियों के खिलाफ कानून के मुताबिक कार्रवाई होगी।
प्रतापगढ़ में आयोजित एक सरकारी कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए योगी आदित्यनाथ ने आरोप लगाया कि कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी ने वर्षों तक वक्फ की जमीनों पर कथित कब्जों और अवैध बिक्री को लेकर कभी कोई सवाल नहीं उठाया।
उन्होंने कहा कि हजारों हेक्टेयर जमीन से जुड़े इतने गंभीर मुद्दे पर विपक्ष की चुप्पी बहुत कुछ बयां करती है, लेकिन अब वही दल अयोध्या को लेकर राजनीति कर रहे हैं।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जिन राजनीतिक दलों ने कभी भगवान श्रीराम और भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के अस्तित्व पर सवाल उठाए थे, वही आज सनातन परंपरा के सबसे बड़े हितैषी बनने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि अयोध्या आंदोलन के दौरान कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी बाबरी मस्जिद के समर्थन में खड़ी दिखाई देती थीं, लेकिन अब बदलते राजनीतिक माहौल को देखकर अपना रुख बदल चुकी हैं।
योगी आदित्यनाथ ने विपक्ष से सवाल किया कि आखिर अयोध्या की आस्था से उनका रिश्ता कब जुड़ गया। उन्होंने कहा कि भगवान श्रीराम में विश्वास रखने वाले करोड़ों श्रद्धालुओं और राम जन्मभूमि आंदोलन के लिए संघर्ष करने वाले परिवारों को अयोध्या पर बोलने का पूरा अधिकार है, लेकिन जिन दलों ने इस आंदोलन का विरोध किया, वे अब आस्था के नाम पर राजनीति नहीं कर सकते।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कांग्रेस पर भगवान श्रीराम के अस्तित्व को नकारने का आरोप लगाया, जबकि समाजवादी पार्टी पर अतीत में रामभक्तों पर गोली चलवाने का आरोप दोहराया।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पहले धार्मिक स्थलों के विकास और संरक्षण के लिए निर्धारित धनराशि का उपयोग कब्रिस्तानों की चारदीवारी बनाने में किया जाता था, जिससे हिंदू समाज की भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंची।
वक्फ संपत्तियों का जिक्र करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने दावा किया कि उत्तर प्रदेश सहित देश के कई हिस्सों में गरीबों और कमजोर वर्गों के हित में इस्तेमाल की जा सकने वाली हजारों हेक्टेयर जमीन वक्फ के नाम पर कथित रूप से बेची गई। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि इस पूरे मामले में कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी ने कभी विरोध दर्ज नहीं कराया और कुछ चुनिंदा लोगों को इसका सबसे अधिक लाभ मिला।
योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि यदि इन जमीनों का सही उपयोग किया जाता तो गरीबों के लिए आवास बनाए जा सकते थे, कन्वेंशन सेंटर विकसित किए जा सकते थे, छोटे व्यापारियों के लिए दुकानें और व्यावसायिक परिसर तैयार किए जा सकते थे तथा हजारों लोगों के लिए रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होते।
लेकिन इसके बजाय कथित रूप से जमीनों पर कब्जा कर उन्हें बेच दिया गया और समाज के कमजोर वर्ग अपने अधिकारों से वंचित रह गए।
राम मंदिर में चढ़ावे से जुड़े विवाद का उल्लेख करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने स्पष्ट किया कि श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट ने स्वयं निष्पक्ष जांच सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एसआईटी जांच की मांग की थी। उन्होंने बताया कि प्रारंभिक जांच रिपोर्ट के आधार पर एफआईआर दर्ज की जा चुकी है और कानून के अनुसार आवश्यक कार्रवाई भी शुरू कर दी गई है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी से सवाल किया कि वक्फ संपत्तियों से जुड़े आरोप सामने आने पर आखिर दोनों दल चुप क्यों हो जाते हैं।
उन्होंने यह भी पूछा कि यदि हिंदू श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा धार्मिक स्थलों पर अर्पित धनराशि का उपयोग दूसरे कार्यों में किया गया, तो क्या उससे हिंदू समाज की धार्मिक भावनाएं आहत नहीं हुईं।
योगी आदित्यनाथ ने विपक्ष पर यह आरोप भी लगाया कि उसके शासनकाल में कई बार धार्मिक यात्राओं और जुलूसों पर प्रतिबंध लगाए गए, पारंपरिक आयोजनों में बाधाएं उत्पन्न की गईं और त्योहारों के दौरान होने वाली हिंसा को प्रभावी ढंग से रोकने में विफलता दिखाई गई।
उन्होंने कहा कि विपक्ष की वास्तविक परेशानी यह है कि भव्य राम मंदिर बनने के बाद अयोध्या दुनिया भर के करोड़ों श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था का प्रमुख केंद्र बन चुकी है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि विपक्ष चाहे जितना भ्रम फैलाने की कोशिश करे, देश और दुनिया से श्रद्धालुओं का अयोध्या पहुंचना लगातार जारी है।
उनके अनुसार, जहां कभी कुछ राजनीतिक दल गुलामी के प्रतीक को बनाए रखना चाहते थे, वहीं आज उसी स्थान पर भगवान श्रीराम का भव्य मंदिर करोड़ों लोगों की आस्था और विश्वास का प्रतीक बनकर खड़ा है।
उधर समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव ने सोशल मीडिया मंच ‘एक्स’ पर भाजपा पर पलटवार करते हुए दावा किया कि धर्म के नाम पर की जाने वाली भाजपा की राजनीति अब समाप्त हो चुकी है।
उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि अब सत्तारूढ़ दल केवल धन की राजनीति पर ध्यान देगा, जबकि भ्रष्टाचार और महंगाई लगातार बढ़ती रहेगी।
अपने संदेश के अंत में अखिलेश यादव ने नारा दिया, “जो बीजेपी का साथी, वो रामघाती।” इस टिप्पणी के साथ उन्होंने भाजपा समर्थकों पर भगवान श्रीराम के आदर्शों के साथ विश्वासघात करने का आरोप लगाया।
वक्फ जमीन विवाद, राम मंदिर चढ़ावा प्रकरण और अयोध्या को लेकर भाजपा और समाजवादी पार्टी के बीच सियासी टकराव अब और तेज होता दिखाई दे रहा है।
