Prayagraj Woman Climbs Water Tank, Demands Sub-Inspector Be Called
The woman, who had earlier filed a rape case against the police officer over allegations of sexual relations on the promise of marriage, was brought down safely after a nearly three-hour police effort.
Prayagraj: A dramatic situation unfolded in Prayagraj on Friday afternoon when a woman climbed a water tank at the Railway Electrification office premises and refused to come down unless a sub-inspector was brought before her.
The woman reportedly climbed the nearly 30-foot-high tank at around 3 pm, drawing the attention of people in the area.
As the situation became increasingly tense, police teams reached the spot and began efforts to persuade her to descend safely.
ACP Civil Lines, Vidyut Goyal, and Civil Lines police station in-charge, Ramashray Yadav, were among the officers who reached the scene.
Despite repeated appeals from the police, the woman remained on the tank and continued to insist that the sub-inspector be called there.
According to the police, the woman had lodged a case against the officer around six months ago, alleging that he had established physical relations with her on the promise of marriage.
The case is currently pending before a court.
The officer had earlier been suspended in connection with the matter and is currently posted at the Sarai Mamrez police station, according to information available in the report.
Police personnel continued negotiations for nearly three hours before finally persuading the woman to climb down. She was brought to safety at around 6 pm and was later sent home after being counselled.
The episode caused a major commotion in the area and attracted a large gathering of onlookers. Police said the woman was safely rescued and no injury was reported.

प्रयागराज में रेलवे विद्युतीकरण कार्यालय परिसर की करीब 30 फीट ऊंची पानी की टंकी पर चढ़ी महिला ने एक दरोगा को मौके पर बुलाने की मांग की। पुलिस ने लगभग तीन घंटे बाद उसे सुरक्षित नीचे उतार लिया।
प्रयागराज: प्रयागराज में शुक्रवार दोपहर उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई जब एक महिला रेलवे विद्युतीकरण कार्यालय परिसर में बनी करीब 30 फीट ऊंची पानी की टंकी पर चढ़ गई।
महिला एक दरोगा को मौके पर बुलाने की मांग कर रही थी और काफी देर तक नीचे उतरने को तैयार नहीं हुई।
घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही आसपास लोगों की भीड़ जुट गई। सूचना पर पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची और महिला को सुरक्षित नीचे उतारने के प्रयास शुरू किए गए। एसीपी सिविल लाइंस विद्युत गोयल और सिविल लाइंस थाना प्रभारी रामाश्रय यादव भी मौके पर पहुंचे।
पुलिस अधिकारियों ने महिला को लगातार समझाने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन वह अपनी मांग पर अड़ी रही।
बताया गया कि महिला पहले उक्त दरोगा के खिलाफ शादी का झांसा देकर शारीरिक संबंध बनाने के आरोप में मुकदमा दर्ज करा चुकी है। यह मामला फिलहाल न्यायालय में विचाराधीन है।
मामले में संबंधित दरोगा को पहले निलंबित किया जा चुका था। उपलब्ध जानकारी के अनुसार, वर्तमान में उसकी तैनाती सरायममरेज थाने में है।
करीब तीन बजे पानी की टंकी पर चढ़ी महिला को पुलिस और अधिकारियों ने लगभग तीन घंटे तक समझाने-बुझाने के बाद सुरक्षित नीचे उतार लिया।
बाद में उसे समझाकर घर भेज दिया गया।
घटना के दौरान रेलवे विद्युतीकरण कार्यालय परिसर और आसपास काफी भीड़ लगी रही। पुलिस के अनुसार, महिला को सुरक्षित नीचे उतार लिया गया और इस दौरान किसी के घायल होने की सूचना नहीं है।
