Pune Murder Case: Ketan Agrawal’s Father Rejects Wig Theory, Police Say Siya Was Allegedly Instigated by Her Lover
The father of Ketan Agrawal, Vishal Agrawal, has rejected media reports claiming that his son was killed because his wife, Siya Agrawal,l disliked his hair wig.
Speaking to reporters in Pune, he said such reports were baseless and had no connection with the real circumstances of the murder.
Vishal Agrawal said that if Siya disliked Ketan’s wig or appearance, she could simply have told him.
According to him, such a reason could never justify taking someone’s life. He urged people not to believe speculation while the investigation is still underway.
Police Claim Lover Encouraged Siya to Murder Ketan
According to the police investigation, Siya Agrawal’s alleged lover encouraged and influenced her to eliminate Ketan Agrawal.
Investigators told the court that the murder was not a sudden act but was allegedly carried out after careful planning.
Police said the couple had been married for nearly 18 years, but their relationship had deteriorated over time.
Investigators claim Siya had been preparing for the crime for around 18 days. During this period, Ketan’s parents were planning to travel to Lonavala, but Ketan reportedly persuaded them not to leave Pune.
Investigators Recover Wig and Hair Samples
During the investigation, Ketan’s father handed over a small box containing a hair wig and hair strands, which police seized as evidence.
Investigators are also conducting forensic examinations of Siya’s mobile phone and laptop.
Officials are attempting to recover deleted chats, messages, es and digital records to establish communication between Siya and her alleged lover before the murder.
Police told the court that custodial interrogation is necessary to verify the digital evidence and uncover the complete conspiracy behind the killing.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured that the state government is treating the case with utmost seriousness and that strict legal action will be taken against everyone found guilty.
Daughter Alleges Mother Behaved Like a Prison Guard
According to the police, the couple’s daughter stated that Siya had treated Ketan “like a prisoner” for several years. She alleged that her mother constantly monitored and controlled her father, and this behaviour had continued for a long time before the murder.
Police said Ketan and Siya had known each other since their school days and later studied together in college before getting married. Ketan worked as a computer engineer, while Siya was employed as an interior designer.
Investigators further revealed that the couple had previously lived in London because of Ketan’s job before returning to Pune. Police also informed the court that their daughter had been sent to Nainital a day before Ketan was murdered in Pune on Monday.

पुणे के चर्चित हत्याकांड में मृतक केतन अग्रवाल के पिता विशाल अग्रवाल ने उन खबरों को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया है, जिनमें दावा किया गया था कि उनकी बहू सिया अग्रवाल को केतन की हेयर विग पसंद नहीं थी और इसी वजह से विवाद हुआ। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसी बातें निराधार हैं और मामले की वास्तविक जांच से लोगों का ध्यान भटका रही हैं।
विशाल अग्रवाल ने कहा कि यदि सिया को केतन की विग या उनका लुक पसंद नहीं था, तो वह उन्हें साफ तौर पर बता सकती थी। किसी की पसंद-नापसंद हत्या जैसा जघन्य अपराध करने का कारण नहीं हो सकती। उन्होंने लोगों से अपील की कि जांच पूरी होने से पहले अफवाहों पर भरोसा न करें।
पुलिस का दावा—प्रेमी ने सिया को केतन की हत्या के लिए उकसाया
पुलिस ने अदालत को बताया कि सिया अग्रवाल के कथित प्रेमी ने उसे केतन अग्रवाल को रास्ते से हटाने के लिए उकसाया था। जांच एजेंसियों के अनुसार, यह हत्या अचानक नहीं हुई बल्कि पूरी योजना बनाकर अंजाम दी गई।
पुलिस के मुताबिक, केतन और सिया की शादी को लगभग 18 वर्ष हो चुके थे, लेकिन समय के साथ दोनों के रिश्तों में तनाव बढ़ गया था। जांच में सामने आया है कि सिया पिछले 18 दिनों से कथित तौर पर इस साजिश की तैयारी कर रही थी। इसी दौरान केतन के माता-पिता लोनावला जाने की तैयारी में थे, लेकिन केतन ने उन्हें अपने साथ पुणे में ही रुकने के लिए मना लिया था।
जांच में विग और बालों के नमूने बरामद
जांच के दौरान केतन के पिता ने पुलिस को एक छोटा डिब्बा सौंपा, जिसमें हेयर विग और बालों के नमूने रखे थे। पुलिस ने इन्हें साक्ष्य के तौर पर जब्त कर लिया है।
इसके अलावा पुलिस सिया के मोबाइल फोन और लैपटॉप की फोरेंसिक जांच कर रही है। अधिकारियों का प्रयास है कि डिलीट किए गए चैट, संदेश और अन्य डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड को दोबारा प्राप्त किया जाए, ताकि कथित प्रेमी और सिया के बीच हुई बातचीत तथा हत्या की साजिश से जुड़े अहम सुराग मिल सकें।
पुलिस ने अदालत से कहा कि डिजिटल साक्ष्यों की पुष्टि और पूरे षड्यंत्र का खुलासा करने के लिए सिया से विस्तृत पूछताछ आवश्यक है।
इस बीच महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा है कि राज्य सरकार इस मामले को अत्यंत गंभीरता से ले रही है और जांच पूरी होने के बाद दोषियों के खिलाफ सख्त कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
बेटी का बयान—मां पिता के साथ कैदी जैसा व्यवहार करती थी
पुलिस के अनुसार, दंपति की बेटी ने अपने बयान में कहा कि सिया कई वर्षों से केतन के साथ कैदी जैसा व्यवहार करती थी। उसने आरोप लगाया कि उसकी मां पिता पर लगातार नियंत्रण रखती थी और उनके साथ कठोर व्यवहार करती थी।
जांच में यह भी सामने आया कि केतन और सिया एक-दूसरे को स्कूल के समय से जानते थे और कॉलेज में साथ पढ़ने के बाद दोनों ने विवाह किया था। केतन कंप्यूटर इंजीनियर थे, जबकि सिया इंटीरियर डिजाइनर के रूप में काम करती थीं।
पुलिस ने अदालत को यह भी बताया कि केतन की नौकरी के कारण दंपति कुछ समय लंदन में भी रहा था और बाद में पुणे लौट आया। घटना से एक दिन पहले उनकी बेटी को नैनीताल भेज दिया गया था। इसके अगले दिन, सोमवार को, पुणे स्थित घर में केतन अग्रवाल की हत्या कर दी गई।
