Ram Temple Trust Defers CEO Appointment by a Month After Receiving 5,200 Applications
Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Wednesday postponed the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by one month, saying the selection panel requires additional time to evaluate 5,200 of the applications received for the post.
The Trust also approved the appointment of an interim secretary and decided to designate an official spokesperson to strengthen its growing administrative and public communication framework.
The decisions were taken during a meeting of the Trust’s Board of Trustees in Ayodhya.
Besides discussing key administrative matters, the members reviewed preparations for the expected increase in the number of devotees visiting the Ram Temple during the holy month of Shravan.
Financial issues and several organisational matters also figured prominently in the deliberations.
Although several important issues were discussed, the Board did not decide on filling the three vacant positions within the Trust.
Officials said the pending matters, including appointments to those posts, will now be considered at the next meeting scheduled for September 2.
Speaking after the meeting, Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said the three-member selection committee informed the Board that it needed more time to examine the applications received for the CEO’s post.
According to him, nearly 5,200 candidates have applied, making the scrutiny process both extensive and time-consuming.
Giri said the committee requested an additional month to carefully assess every application and prepare a shortlist of three suitable candidates.
Considering the significance of the appointment and the need to ensure complete transparency and due diligence, the Board unanimously accepted the request.
This was the Trust’s second major meeting in Ayodhya since the alleged donation theft controversy surfaced in June. The previous meeting of the Board had been held on July 6, during which several administrative issues were also reviewed.
Interim General Secretary Krishna Mohan said the Board was of the view that postponing the CEO selection would not disrupt the day-to-day functioning of the Trust.
He said the interim administrative arrangements would continue until the selection process is completed.
Trust officials reiterated that the decision to defer the appointment was taken solely because the screening committee required more time to thoroughly verify and evaluate suitable candidates from the 5,200 applications received for the prestigious post.

अयोध्या: श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट ने बुधवार को अपने पहले मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) की नियुक्ति एक माह के लिए स्थगित कर दी। ट्रस्ट ने कहा कि चयन समिति को इस पद के लिए प्राप्त बड़ी संख्या में आवेदनों की गहन जांच और मूल्यांकन के लिए अतिरिक्त समय की आवश्यकता है।
साथ ही ट्रस्ट ने प्रशासनिक जरूरतों को देखते हुए एक अंतरिम सचिव नियुक्त करने तथा जनसंपर्क और मीडिया से संवाद के लिए एक आधिकारिक प्रवक्ता नियुक्त करने का भी निर्णय लिया।
यह फैसला अयोध्या में आयोजित ट्रस्ट के न्यासी मंडल की बैठक में लिया गया। बैठक के दौरान सदस्यों ने श्रावण मास में राम मंदिर आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की संभावित बढ़ती संख्या को देखते हुए व्यवस्थाओं की समीक्षा की। इसके अलावा प्रशासनिक, वित्तीय तथा संगठनात्मक विषयों पर भी विस्तार से चर्चा की गई।
बैठक में कई महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर विचार हुआ, लेकिन ट्रस्ट के तीन रिक्त पदों को भरने पर कोई अंतिम निर्णय नहीं लिया गया। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि इन लंबित विषयों पर अगली बैठक में विचार किया जाएगा, जो 2 सितंबर को प्रस्तावित है।
बैठक के बाद ट्रस्ट के कोषाध्यक्ष गोविंद देव गिरि ने बताया कि तीन सदस्यीय चयन समिति ने न्यासी मंडल को सूचित किया कि मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी के पद के लिए प्राप्त आवेदनों की संख्या अत्यधिक है।
उन्होंने कहा कि इस पद के लिए लगभग 5,200 आवेदन प्राप्त हुए हैं, जिनकी सावधानीपूर्वक जांच में अपेक्षा से अधिक समय लग रहा है।
गोविंद देव गिरि ने बताया कि समिति ने सभी आवेदनों का निष्पक्ष परीक्षण कर तीन उपयुक्त उम्मीदवारों की सूची तैयार करने के लिए एक माह का अतिरिक्त समय मांगा है।
नियुक्ति की महत्ता और पूरी पारदर्शिता सुनिश्चित करने की आवश्यकता को देखते हुए न्यासी मंडल ने समिति के अनुरोध को स्वीकार कर लिया।
यह बैठक जून में सामने आए कथित दान चोरी विवाद के बाद ट्रस्ट की दूसरी महत्वपूर्ण बैठक थी। इससे पहले न्यासी मंडल की बैठक 6 जुलाई को आयोजित हुई थी, जिसमें भी कई प्रशासनिक विषयों पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया था।
ट्रस्ट के कार्यवाहक महासचिव कृष्ण मोहन ने कहा कि मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी की नियुक्ति में हुई इस देरी का ट्रस्ट के नियमित कार्यों पर कोई प्रतिकूल प्रभाव नहीं पड़ेगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि स्थायी नियुक्ति होने तक अंतरिम प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था के माध्यम से सभी दैनंदिन कार्य पहले की तरह संचालित किए जाएंगे।
