Ram Temple Trust Hands Religious Affairs to Ayodhya Saints, Revives Permanent Priest Training Institute

Ayodhya: In a significant move aimed at strengthening the traditional religious leadership of the Ram Temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Wednesday constituted a new nine-member Dharmik (Religious) Committee and entrusted it with complete responsibility for the temple’s spiritual affairs.

The Trust also approved the revival of a permanent training institute for priests to preserve and promote traditional temple practices.

The newly constituted committee comprises five prominent seers from Ayodhya and four eminent religious figures from outside the temple town.

Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri, who has been appointed chairman of the panel, said all matters related to worship, rituals and religious traditions of the Ram Temple would now be supervised by Ayodhya’s saints and seers.

He said the decision removed any uncertainty regarding who would guide the temple’s religious functioning.

The committee includes Shankaracharya Vasudevanand Saraswati, Swami Vishwaprasannatirth, Mahant Dinendra Das of Nirmohi Akhara, Mahant Kamal Nayan Das of Maniram Chhavni, Mahant Rajkumar Das of Ramavallabh Kunj, Mahant Ramanand Das of Ram Katha Kunj, Swami Mithileshnandini Sharan and Swami Parmanand, besides Govind Dev Giri as its chairman.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Trust’s Board of Trustees amid long-standing concerns expressed by several religious institutions in Ayodhya that local saints were not receiving adequate participation in the administration of the temple.

By expanding the representation of Ayodhya’s leading spiritual figures in the Dharmik Committee, the Trust has sought to address those concerns and strengthen the role of the city’s traditional monastic community.

According to the Trust, the committee has been given clear authority to oversee every aspect of the temple’s religious activities and ensure that all worship, ceremonies and customs continue strictly in accordance with the Vedic Ramanandi tradition.

Announcing the decision, Govind Dev Giri said the panel would supervise daily rituals, annual festivals, priestly training and maintain regular coordination with Ayodhya’s saints, monasteries and religious institutions.

Explaining his appointment as chairman, Giri said Trust rules require the head of every committee to be a trustee.

He added that the members unanimously entrusted him with the responsibility of leading the newly formed religious body.

Outlining the committee’s responsibilities, Giri said its work would extend far beyond administrative supervision and would involve active participation in temple affairs.

Its foremost responsibility will be to ensure that the daily worship of Lord Ram is performed strictly according to the Vedic Ramanandi tradition without any deviation.

Another important duty assigned to the committee is to determine the official dates for major religious festivals whenever differences arise because of varying calendar calculations.

Festivals such as Ram Navami, Sita Navami and Vivah Panchami sometimes fall on two separate dates, and the committee will now take the final decision on their observance.

It will also oversee the planning and conduct of all annual religious celebrations at the temple.

The panel has also been entrusted with supervising daily spiritual programmes, including Ramarcha, Vedic recitations, special yajnas during festivals and other traditional rituals that form part of the temple’s regular religious schedule.

The Trust has simultaneously decided to revive its priest training programme, which had earlier produced around 30 trained priests before it was discontinued.

The new institute will function as a permanent training centre where aspiring priests will receive comprehensive instruction not only in rituals and mantra pronunciation but also in temple discipline, traditions and management practices.

Maintaining close communication with Ayodhya’s monasteries, temples, saints and gurukuls has also been included among the committee’s primary responsibilities.

Giri expressed confidence that the Ram Temple would now function under the direct spiritual guidance of Ayodhya’s sadhus and saints, with the Vedic Ramanandi tradition serving as the guiding principle for all religious decisions.

Trust Chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das presided over Wednesday’s meeting. Besides him, interim General Secretary Krishna Mohan, Treasurer Govind Dev Giri and members Vishwaprasannatirth, Dinendra Das, Vasudevanand Saraswati and Swami Parmanand attended the deliberations.

Ayodhya District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi participated in the meeting as an ex officio member of the Trust, while Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad joined through virtual mode.

Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra and Union Ministry of Culture Additional Secretary Prashant Lokhande, both ex officio members, remained absent.

Senior Trust member Keshav Parasaran also did not attend the meeting. The next meeting of the Trust has been scheduled for September 2.

राम मंदिर की धार्मिक व्यवस्था अब अयोध्या के संतों के हाथों में, स्थायी पुजारी प्रशिक्षण संस्थान भी होगा शुरू

अयोध्या: श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट ने बुधवार को राम मंदिर की धार्मिक व्यवस्था को अयोध्या की पारंपरिक संत परंपरा के नेतृत्व में सौंपने की दिशा में बड़ा निर्णय लेते हुए नई नौ सदस्यीय धार्मिक समिति का गठन किया।

इसके साथ ही ट्रस्ट ने पुजारियों के लिए स्थायी प्रशिक्षण संस्थान को दोबारा शुरू करने का भी फैसला किया, ताकि मंदिर की धार्मिक परंपराओं को व्यवस्थित रूप से आगे बढ़ाया जा सके।

नई समिति में अयोध्या के पांच प्रमुख संतों के साथ चार अन्य प्रतिष्ठित धार्मिक व्यक्तित्वों को शामिल किया गया है। ट्रस्ट के कोषाध्यक्ष गोविंद देव गिरि को समिति का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया है।

उन्होंने कहा कि अब राम मंदिर में पूजा-पाठ, धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों और सभी आध्यात्मिक व्यवस्थाओं की निगरानी पूरी तरह अयोध्या के साधु-संत करेंगे और इस विषय में अब किसी प्रकार की कोई अस्पष्टता नहीं रहेगी।

समिति में शंकराचार्य वासुदेवानंद सरस्वती, स्वामी विश्वप्रसन्नतीर्थ, निर्मोही अखाड़े के महंत दिनेंद्र दास, मणिराम छावनी के महंत कमल नयन दास, रामवल्लभ कुंज के महंत राजकुमार दास, रामकथा कुंज के महंत रामानंद दास, स्वामी मिथिलेशनंदिनी शरण तथा स्वामी परमानंद को शामिल किया गया है।

यह निर्णय ट्रस्ट की न्यासी परिषद की बैठक में लिया गया। लंबे समय से अयोध्या के अनेक संत-महंत यह महसूस कर रहे थे कि मंदिर के धार्मिक संचालन में स्थानीय संत समाज की भागीदारी अपेक्षित स्तर पर नहीं है।

नई समिति में प्रमुख स्थानीय संतों को स्थान देकर ट्रस्ट ने उनकी भूमिका को औपचारिक और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने का प्रयास किया है।

ट्रस्ट ने स्पष्ट किया कि समिति को राम मंदिर की समस्त धार्मिक गतिविधियों की देखरेख का अधिकार दिया गया है। उसका प्रमुख दायित्व यह सुनिश्चित करना होगा कि मंदिर की पूजा-पद्धति, धार्मिक अनुष्ठान और परंपराएं पूरी तरह वैदिक रामानंदी परंपरा के अनुरूप संचालित हों।

गोविंद देव गिरि ने बताया कि समिति दैनिक पूजा, वार्षिक उत्सवों, पुजारियों के प्रशिक्षण और अयोध्या के मठों एवं संत समाज के साथ समन्वय का कार्य भी संभालेगी।

अपने अध्यक्ष बनाए जाने पर उन्होंने कहा कि ट्रस्ट के नियमों के अनुसार प्रत्येक समिति का अध्यक्ष किसी ट्रस्टी को ही बनाया जाता है। इसी व्यवस्था के तहत सभी सदस्यों ने सर्वसम्मति से उन्हें इस समिति की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी।

गोविंद देव गिरि ने बताया कि समिति केवल औपचारिक बैठकों तक सीमित नहीं रहेगी, बल्कि मंदिर की धार्मिक व्यवस्था में प्रत्यक्ष रूप से सक्रिय भूमिका निभाएगी। इसकी पहली जिम्मेदारी यह होगी कि भगवान श्रीराम की दैनिक पूजा पूरी तरह वैदिक रामानंदी परंपरा के अनुसार संपन्न हो।

समिति को प्रमुख धार्मिक पर्वों की तिथियां निर्धारित करने का भी अधिकार दिया गया है। कई बार राम नवमी, सीता नवमी, विवाह पंचमी जैसे पर्व पंचांगों के अंतर के कारण दो अलग-अलग दिनों में पड़ते हैं।

ऐसी स्थिति में अंतिम निर्णय यही समिति करेगी और मंदिर में होने वाले सभी वार्षिक धार्मिक आयोजनों की योजना तथा संचालन की जिम्मेदारी भी इसी के पास होगी।

दैनिक धार्मिक कार्यक्रमों की व्यवस्था भी समिति की महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी होगी। इसके अंतर्गत रामार्चा, वैदिक पारायण, पर्वों पर विशेष यज्ञ तथा अन्य नियमित धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों का संचालन सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा।

ट्रस्ट ने पुजारी प्रशिक्षण केंद्र को भी स्थायी रूप से पुनर्जीवित करने का निर्णय लिया है। पहले इस केंद्र से लगभग 30 प्रशिक्षित पुजारी तैयार किए गए थे, लेकिन बाद में यह व्यवस्था बंद हो गई थी।

अब नए संस्थान में केवल पूजा-पद्धति और मंत्रोच्चारण ही नहीं, बल्कि मंदिर संचालन, अनुशासन और धार्मिक परंपराओं का भी समग्र प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा।

समिति का एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण दायित्व अयोध्या के मठों, मंदिरों, संतों और गुरुकुलों के साथ नियमित संवाद और समन्वय बनाए रखना होगा।

गोविंद देव गिरि ने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि अब राम मंदिर का धार्मिक संचालन अयोध्या के साधु-संतों के मार्गदर्शन में होगा तथा वैदिक रामानंदी परंपरा ही सभी धार्मिक निर्णयों का आधार बनेगी।

बुधवार को हुई बैठक की अध्यक्षता ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष महंत नृत्य गोपाल दास ने की। बैठक में कार्यवाहक महासचिव कृष्ण मोहन, कोषाध्यक्ष गोविंद देव गिरि तथा ट्रस्ट के सदस्य स्वामी विश्वप्रसन्नतीर्थ, महंत दिनेंद्र दास, शंकराचार्य वासुदेवानंद सरस्वती और स्वामी परमानंद भी उपस्थित रहे।

अयोध्या के जिलाधिकारी शशांक त्रिपाठी ने ट्रस्ट के पदेन सदस्य के रूप में बैठक में भाग लिया, जबकि उत्तर प्रदेश के अपर मुख्य सचिव (गृह) संजय प्रसाद वर्चुअल माध्यम से जुड़े।

ट्रस्ट के अन्य पदेन सदस्य तथा राम मंदिर निर्माण समिति के अध्यक्ष नृपेंद्र मिश्र और केंद्रीय संस्कृति मंत्रालय के अपर सचिव प्रशांत लोखंडे बैठक में उपस्थित नहीं हो सके।

ट्रस्ट के वरिष्ठ सदस्य केशव परासरन भी बैठक में शामिल नहीं हुए। ट्रस्ट की अगली बैठक 2 सितंबर को आयोजित की जाएगी।
