Shamli Teen Murder Case: Girl Allegedly Strangled Inside Locked Room as Younger Brother Recorded Chilling Incident
Shamli: A shocking and deeply disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district has left residents horrified after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly strangled to death inside her home by a young man, while her 14-year-old brother reportedly recorded the incident on his mobile phone from outside the room.
Police have arrested 22-year-old Ali Mohammad in connection with the case. Investigators said a nearly two-minute-long video of the incident has emerged as crucial evidence and will now be sent for forensic examination to verify its authenticity and sequence of events.
According to police officials, the tragedy unfolded after the accused was allegedly found inside the teenager’s house while she was alone.
When the girl’s mother confronted her about the youth’s presence, the teenager reportedly denied calling him to the house and instead claimed that he had entered forcibly.
Investigators said tensions escalated rapidly inside the house after the mother allegedly threatened to inform the police and implicate the accused in a sexual assault case.
The atmosphere reportedly became emotionally charged, with arguments and accusations intensifying within minutes.
A police officer involved in the investigation said the woman then allegedly pushed her daughter into the room where Ali Mohammad was present and locked the door from outside.
She subsequently called the police control room to report the matter.
Meanwhile, the accused and the teenager allegedly got into a heated argument inside the locked room.
According to police, the young man repeatedly expressed fear that the girl’s changing statements could falsely implicate him in a serious criminal case.
Officers said the teenager was heard pleading with her mother to open the door, but the room reportedly remained locked from the outside.
What followed has left investigators and residents stunned.
Police said the victim’s younger brother began filming the events unfolding inside the room through a window.
During the argument, Ali Mohammad allegedly lost his temper and strangled the teenager using her scarf. The horrifying act was reportedly captured on the mobile phone recording.
Officials said the boy was standing outside the room near a window while recording the video. The footage is now expected to play a key role in the investigation.
When police personnel reached the house after receiving the emergency call, they found the teenager lying unconscious on the floor. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
N P Singh confirmed that the video evidence would be sent to a forensic science laboratory for detailed examination.
Investigators are also examining the statements of family members and witnesses to establish the exact chain of events leading to the girl’s death.
Police said the victim was the third among the complainant’s 11 children. Authorities also confirmed that both the teenager and the accused belonged to the same community.
The incident has triggered shock and intense discussion across the region, with many questioning how a domestic confrontation spiraled into such a horrifying tragedy.
