St. Columbus Baily Branch Launches Sanskrit Week with Cultural Performances
Sanskrit Week Inaugurated at St. Columbus School Group Baily Branch.
Students and teachers celebrated the richness of Sanskrit through prayers, shlok recitations, and devotional presentations during the opening ceremony held on August 26.
Prayagraj: St. Columbus School Group, Baily Branch, marked the beginning of its Sanskrit Week celebrations on August 26 with a programme dedicated to the language’s literary, cultural and spiritual traditions.
The inaugural ceremony began in a traditional manner as participants paid floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati and lit the ceremonial lamp, setting the tone for a series of Sanskrit-focused activities.
Students from different classes took the stage with devotional and classical presentations.
Class 10 students Vaibhav Dubey and Kushagra Mishra recited Sanskrit shlokas, while Manvi Sakshi of Class 7A presented an invocation.
Arya of Class 10 and Abhinandan Singh of Class 8B also participated with Saraswati Vandana and shlok recitation.
Administrative Officer Shri Gopal Dua attended the event as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mrs. Preeti Pathak highlighted the importance of keeping Sanskrit connected with younger generations.
She described the language as an important part of India’s heritage and said educational institutions have a significant role in carrying its legacy forward.
She said the school has been making continuous efforts to encourage Sanskrit learning and awareness among students.
The event also featured presentations by Sanskrit teachers Mrs. Vimla Pandey and Mrs. Sadhna Srivastava, who recited shlokas and verses from the Bhagavad Gita.
The programme witnessed the participation of teachers, students and school staff.
Among those present were Bhavna, Sadhna Tripathi, Coordinator Sangeeta Mam, Anjali and Saman, along with the Sanskrit faculty and other members of the teaching staff.
The opening ceremony brought together devotional expression, student participation and the school’s emphasis on cultural learning, giving Sanskrit Week a traditional and educational beginning.

सेंट कोलंबस स्कूल ग्रुप की बेली ब्रांच में 26 अगस्त को संस्कृत सप्ताह का शुभारंभ हुआ। कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों ने श्लोक गायन, सरस्वती वंदना और भगवद्गीता के श्लोकों की प्रस्तुति दी।
प्रयागराज: सेंट कोलंबस स्कूल ग्रुप, बेली ब्रांच में 26 अगस्त को संस्कृत भाषा और भारतीय सांस्कृतिक परंपरा को समर्पित संस्कृत सप्ताह का शुभारंभ किया गया।
उद्घाटन समारोह में विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों ने मंत्रोच्चार, श्लोक गायन तथा भक्ति प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से संस्कृत की समृद्ध विरासत को रेखांकित किया।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत मां सरस्वती के चित्र पर माल्यार्पण और दीप प्रज्ज्वलन से हुई। इसके बाद मंच पर विद्यार्थियों ने विभिन्न संस्कृत एवं धार्मिक प्रस्तुतियां देकर कार्यक्रम को गरिमामय बनाया।
कक्षा 10 के छात्र वैभव दुबे और कुशाग्र मिश्रा ने श्लोक गायन प्रस्तुत किया। कक्षा 7ए की छात्रा मानवी साक्षी ने ईश वंदना प्रस्तुत की।
वहीं कक्षा 10 की आर्या और कक्षा 8बी के अभिनंदन सिंह ने सरस्वती वंदना तथा श्लोक गायन से सभी को प्रभावित किया।
कार्यक्रम में प्रशासनिक अधिकारी श्री गोपाल दुआ मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।
प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती प्रीति पाठक ने विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित करते हुए संस्कृत के संरक्षण और प्रसार की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
उन्होंने कहा कि संस्कृत भारत की सांस्कृतिक और बौद्धिक धरोहर है तथा नई पीढ़ी को इससे जोड़ने के लिए निरंतर प्रयास किए जाने चाहिए।
उन्होंने कहा कि विद्यालय भी इस दिशा में लगातार कार्य कर रहा है और संस्कृत के प्रति विद्यार्थियों की रुचि बढ़ाने के लिए विभिन्न गतिविधियों का आयोजन किया जाता है।
संस्कृत शिक्षिकाओं श्रीमती विमला पांडेय और श्रीमती साधना श्रीवास्तव ने भी कार्यक्रम में श्लोक गायन किया और श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता के श्लोकों का पाठ प्रस्तुत किया।
संस्कृत सप्ताह के उद्घाटन समारोह में विमला पांडेय, साधना श्रीवास्तव, भावना, साधना त्रिपाठी, समन्वयक संगीता मैम, अंजलि और समन सहित विद्यालय के शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाएं तथा बड़ी संख्या में विद्यार्थी उपस्थित रहे।
सांस्कृतिक और आध्यात्मिक वातावरण के बीच संपन्न उद्घाटन समारोह ने संस्कृत सप्ताह की गतिविधियों के लिए एक प्रभावशाली शुरुआत की।
