Three Institutions Sealed in Prayagraj for Operating from a Single Building Without an Approved Building Plan

Prayagraj: Three separate institutions functioning from a single building on the busy Stanley Road in Civil Lines were sealed by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) after officials found multiple violations of building regulations.

The premises housed a digital library, a paramedical training institute, and a girls’ hostel, all of which were being operated without complying with the required legal norms.

During the inspection, officials found that the building, located near the MP Bhavan crossing on Stanley Road, had been constructed over an area of nearly 1,200 square metres.

The premises accommodated a digital library, a computer centre, a paramedical training institute,e and a girls’ hostel.

However, the necessary approvals and statutory permissions required for running these establishments had not been obtained.

Acting on information received about the violations, a PDA team led by Executive Engineer Ranjan Mohan Sharma reached the site for inspection.

After verifying the irregularities, officials locked the main entrance of the building and sealed the entire premises.

Police personnel remained present throughout the operation to ensure that the action was carried out peacefully and without any disruption.

The investigation further revealed that the building did not have an approved building plan.

Officials also found that construction from the ground floor to the third floor had been carried out in violation of the sanctioned norms.

The large-scale unauthorised construction was considered a serious breach of development authority regulations.

Officials also observed that several establishments, including the Modern Paramedical Training Institute, digital library, computer centre, and girls’ hostel, were operating inside the building despite the absence of mandatory permissions.

Since the institutions were functioning without the required approvals and in a structure that violated building regulations, the PDA sealed the entire premises and initiated further legal proceedings.
