Three Killed in South Delhi House Fire; Young Woman Dies After Blaze and Fall in Separate Incident
New Delhi: A devastating fire that broke out in a residential building in South Delhi’s BK Dutt Colony on Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two children and a woman.
Fire department officials said the blaze erupted on the third floor of the house, where all three victims were found during rescue and firefighting operations.
According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the control room received an emergency call at 10:21 am reporting a fire at a house in B Block of BK Dutt Colony.
Acting swiftly, the Safdarjung Fire Station dispatched three fire tenders to the spot.
Upon reaching the location, Station Officer Manoj informed the control room at around 10:50 am that flames had engulfed the third floor of the building.
During the operation, firefighters recovered the bodies of a woman and two children from the affected floor.
Rescue teams managed to bring the blaze under control by 11:10 am, after which cooling operations continued to eliminate any possibility of the fire reigniting.
Fire officials said the exact reason behind the incident would be determined only after the completion of firefighting and forensic examination.
The identities of the deceased had not been officially confirmed till the filing of this report.
In a separate tragedy reported from West Delhi, a 23-year-old woman lost her life on Wednesday after allegedly setting her residence on fire and subsequently falling from the third floor of a building in Hari Nagar.
Police said preliminary findings indicate that the woman may have ignited the fire herself, although investigators are examining all possible circumstances surrounding the incident, including the exact cause of the blaze and the circumstances leading to her fall.
Police officials said the woman had resigned from her job only a few days before the incident and had reportedly been under severe emotional stress following a prolonged dispute over the custody of her young child after separating from her husband.
Investigators are questioning both her parental family and in-laws to establish the sequence of events.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar Swami said police received information on Wednesday afternoon that a woman had fallen from the third floor of a building that had caught fire.
Residents immediately shifted her to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.
During the preliminary inquiry, the woman’s father told investigators that she had married in 2023 and the couple had a son.
Owing to matrimonial differences, she had left her husband’s residence nearly two years ago and had since been living with her parents.
She was employed at a garment store in Uttam Nagar but had resigned from her job four to five days before the incident.
Her father further informed police that she had been experiencing considerable mental distress, primarily over the custody of her child.
According to family members, her husband’s family wanted custody of the boy, a move she strongly opposed, which had added to her emotional burden.
Investigators said no suicide note was recovered from the scene.
The body has been preserved for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police suspect the woman may have set fire to her room before falling from the third floor, though the investigation is continuing to establish the complete sequence of events.
दक्षिण दिल्ली में मकान में आग लगने से महिला समेत तीन की मौत, पश्चिमी दिल्ली में आग और तीसरी मंजिल से गिरने से युवती की जान गई
नई दिल्ली: दक्षिण दिल्ली के बीके दत्त कॉलोनी में मंगलवार सुबह एक रिहायशी मकान में लगी भीषण आग ने एक ही परिवार की खुशियां छीन लीं। इस दर्दनाक हादसे में दो मासूम बच्चों और एक महिला की मौत हो गई।
दमकल विभाग के अधिकारियों के अनुसार आग मकान की तीसरी मंजिल पर लगी थी, जहां से राहत एवं बचाव अभियान के दौरान तीनों के शव बरामद किए गए।
दिल्ली अग्निशमन सेवा (डीएफएस) के मुताबिक सुबह 10:21 बजे नियंत्रण कक्ष को बीके दत्त कॉलोनी के बी-ब्लॉक स्थित एक मकान में आग लगने की सूचना मिली। सूचना मिलते ही सफदरजंग फायर स्टेशन से तीन दमकल गाड़ियों को मौके पर रवाना किया गया।
घटनास्थल पर पहुंचने के बाद स्टेशन अधिकारी मनोज ने लगभग 10:50 बजे बताया कि आग पूरी तरह तीसरी मंजिल पर फैल चुकी है।
आग बुझाने और बचाव अभियान के दौरान दमकलकर्मियों ने एक महिला और दो बच्चों के शव बरामद किए।
दमकल विभाग ने 11:10 बजे तक आग पर पूरी तरह काबू पा लिया, जिसके बाद दोबारा आग भड़कने की आशंका को समाप्त करने के लिए कूलिंग ऑपरेशन शुरू किया गया।
अधिकारियों ने बताया कि आग लगने के वास्तविक कारणों का पता विस्तृत जांच पूरी होने के बाद ही चल सकेगा। समाचार लिखे जाने तक मृतकों की पहचान आधिकारिक रूप से सार्वजनिक नहीं की गई थी।
इसी बीच पश्चिमी दिल्ली के हरि नगर से भी एक दुखद घटना सामने आई, जहां बुधवार को 23 वर्षीय एक युवती की मौत हो गई।
पुलिस के अनुसार प्रारंभिक जांच में आशंका जताई गई है कि युवती ने पहले अपने कमरे में आग लगाई और उसके बाद भवन की तीसरी मंजिल से नीचे गिर गई।
हालांकि पुलिस ने स्पष्ट किया कि आग लगने और युवती के गिरने की वास्तविक परिस्थितियों की विस्तृत जांच अभी जारी है।
जांच अधिकारियों के अनुसार युवती ने घटना से कुछ दिन पहले ही अपनी नौकरी छोड़ दी थी और पति से अलग रहने के बाद अपने बच्चे की अभिरक्षा को लेकर गहरे मानसिक तनाव से गुजर रही थी।
पूरे घटनाक्रम की सच्चाई जानने के लिए पुलिस उसके मायके और ससुराल पक्ष के लोगों से पूछताछ कर रही है।
पश्चिमी जिले के पुलिस उपायुक्त हरेश्वर स्वामी ने बताया कि बुधवार दोपहर पुलिस को सूचना मिली थी कि आग लगी इमारत की तीसरी मंजिल से एक महिला नीचे गिर गई है।
आसपास के लोगों ने उसे तत्काल दीन दयाल उपाध्याय (डीडीयू) अस्पताल पहुंचाया, लेकिन इलाज के दौरान चिकित्सकों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।
प्रारंभिक पूछताछ में युवती के पिता ने पुलिस को बताया कि उसकी शादी वर्ष 2023 में हुई थी और उसका एक बेटा है। वैवाहिक विवाद के चलते वह लगभग दो वर्ष पहले अपने पति का घर छोड़कर अपने माता-पिता के साथ रहने लगी थी।
वह उत्तम नगर स्थित एक कपड़ों की दुकान में काम करती थी, लेकिन घटना से चार-पांच दिन पहले उसने नौकरी छोड़ दी थी।
परिजनों के अनुसार बच्चे की अभिरक्षा को लेकर चल रहा विवाद युवती के मानसिक तनाव का सबसे बड़ा कारण था।
परिवार का कहना है कि उसके ससुराल पक्ष ने पोते की कस्टडी की इच्छा जताई थी, जिसका युवती लगातार विरोध कर रही थी। इसी वजह से वह पिछले कुछ समय से काफी परेशान चल रही थी।
पुलिस ने बताया कि घटनास्थल से कोई सुसाइड नोट बरामद नहीं हुआ है। शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए सुरक्षित रख दिया गया है ताकि मौत के सही कारणों का पता लगाया जा सके।
प्रारंभिक जांच में आशंका व्यक्त की जा रही है कि युवती ने अपने कमरे में आग लगाने के बाद तीसरी मंजिल से छलांग लगाई, हालांकि पूरे मामले की हर पहलू से जांच अभी जारी है।
