US President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged a tense conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, revealing that he expressed frustration over Israel’s continued military operations in Lebanon.
Speaking during a podcast interview on Wednesday, Trump said he was increasingly concerned that the ongoing conflict was undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at easing regional tensions and advancing negotiations involving Iran.
During the interview, Trump was questioned about reports claiming he had sharply criticised Netanyahu during a phone call earlier this week and described him as being reckless in his handling of the conflict.
While the US president did not confirm every detail of the reported remarks, he admitted that the conversation had been unusually direct and reflected his dissatisfaction with the escalating violence.
Appearing on the New York Post’s Pod Force One podcast, Trump explained that he was not necessarily angry but was troubled by the continued hostilities involving Lebanon.

The Republican leader also underscored the United States’ longstanding support for Israel, arguing that Washington’s backing has been central to the country’s security and survival.

Earlier reports from Axios, citing an unnamed US official, alleged that Trump delivered an unusually blunt message to Netanyahu during their conversation.
According to the report, the US president expressed deep frustration over Israel’s actions and warned that the country was facing growing international criticism as the conflict continued.
Reflecting on the exchange, Trump said he eventually urged Netanyahu to seek a path toward de-escalation.
According to the president, he told the Israeli leader that the fighting needed to stop and that further escalation would only make resolving the broader crisis more difficult.
