UP CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Swift Relief Measures After Storm and Lightning Deaths, Warns Against Negligence

Yogi Adityanath has directed the Uttar Pradesh administration to remain on high alert following incidents of deaths and injuries caused by storms, heavy rainfall, and lightning strikes across several parts of the state.

Taking the situation seriously, the Chief Minister on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

He instructed officials to ensure immediate medical treatment for those injured and ordered that relief compensation be provided to all affected families within 24 hours.

The Chief Minister also asked district magistrates to stay actively present in the field and personally monitor relief and rescue operations.

He stressed that negligence at any level would not be tolerated and directed authorities to ensure prompt and effective action in all affected areas.

Expressing sorrow over the tragedy, Yogi Adityanath said the state government stands with the families who have suffered losses due to the adverse weather conditions.

He emphasised that providing timely assistance and proper healthcare to victims must remain the administration’s top priority.

At the same time, the Chief Minister also addressed teachers and Shiksha Mitras during a programme and called for a more constructive and positive approach towards nation-building through education.

He said that the mindset of constant confrontation and negativity must be abandoned, adding that teachers and education workers cannot function with a “trade union mentality” if they want to contribute meaningfully to society.

“If teachers or Shiksha Mitras remain focused only on demands and continue to work with a negative mindset, they will weaken the foundation of children and ultimately harm society and the nation,” he said.

The Chief Minister stressed that educators play a crucial role in shaping future generations and that only those working with dedication, positivity, and a sense of responsibility can help build a stronger society.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued another alert warning of strong winds, heavy rainfall, and lightning strikes in several districts over the next 24 hours.

Authorities have appealed to residents to stay indoors during severe weather conditions and avoid open areas, trees, and electric poles to minimise risk.

Rescue and disaster response teams have been deployed in vulnerable regions and are continuing relief operations in affected districts.

During the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also honoured several selected Shiksha Mitras and handed over enhanced honorarium cheques to them in recognition of their contribution to the education sector.

Among those honoured were Sangeeta, Pratima Gupta, Faria Tabassum, Tejbhan Singh, Dhirendra Kumar Sharma, Sanjay, Shashi Prabha Singh, Abhay Kumar, Suman Lata Devi, Sarvesh Kumar Pandey, Anuradha, Lalta Prasad, Sonu Yadav, and Meera from districts including Gorakhpur, Kasganj, Firozabad, Maharajganj, Deoria, Kushinagar, Basti, and Sant Kabir Nagar.
