We are a Secular Country. We cannot side with any particular religion. Hence any religious structure harming public interest should be demolished: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has said that any religious structure at any public place should be demolished irrespective of any religion that it belongs to because public interest is more supreme than any other thing.

We are a secular country. Whatever we are determining is in the interest of every citizen, and organization.
This is not for any community. We cannot have a seperate law for a particular religion.
Hearing a writ carrying complaint against state’s that are using bulldozers to demolish properties owned by criminals the supreme court said we are reserving any remarks or judgment on this issue.
The court said, it would issue directions on this issue later on. This direction will be applicable on all citizens
The court however said, any persons criminal background or his being an accused cannot be a ground of demolition of his house.
The bench of Justice BR Gawai and Justice KV Vishwanathan observed that in its order on Sept 17, the bench had made clear that no property of criminals will be demolished till further orders.
The supreme court also made it clear that it will not come in aid of any person or people encroaching upon public road, forests or government land.
