Zamiruddin accused of plotting the murder of Jaunpur based Journalist escapes from police custody

Putting a question mark over UP police alertness and further downsizing their image in the eyes of common man, Zamiruddin, the man who plotted the murder of Ashutosh Srivastava, the journalist, has escaped from police custody.

Ashutosh Srivastava was shot dead at Jaunpur on May 13.

Zamiruddin had escaped and evaded the Jaunpur police.

However, he was traced at Bhiwandi, Mumbai where he had gone into hiding.

He was being brought to Jaunpur by sub Inspector Mansha Ram Gupta and constable Brajesh Misra by train on police remand.

According to reports Zamiruddin went on the pretext of using the toilet when the train reached Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the two cops on duty realised that the accused had given them a slip.

Both the policemen have been placed under suspension and a hunt was on to track down Zamiruddin.
