The Delhi police have arrested the driver of a Jeep who while wading through the accumulated heavy rain water in speed literally banged his vehicle against the gate of the Delhi Coaching Institute.

His irresponsible driving not only broke the door of the Rau’s IAS Coaching Institute but also facilitated gushing of water into the basement in such a speed that created a 12 feet pond in the library within few minutes. Everything was so quick that around 30 students in the basement were caught unawares.
However, most of them managed to make an escape but the three students including two girls and a boy perished inside.
Reports suggest that it was too late when they could have tried to save their lives. The fact that they were at the fag end of the basement and other escaping students were ahead of them could be a big reason behind their drowning.
The Thar Jeep was identified through the CCTV Camera.
Police will also question the four building owners who had rented the place to the person who was running the coaching institute.
Due to heavy rains much water had accumulated on the road in Rajendra Nagar. This happened on July 27.
In a crackdown against people running coaching institutes at prohibited places, the Delhi police sealed 13 coaching centres that were making illegal use of basements meant for parking and storage.
In all five persons including the coaching owner and it’s coordinator have been arrested in this case under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
