Aaditya Thackeray Rejects Disha Salian Link, Calls Allegations Political Campaign
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader says he never knew or met the late celebrity manager and urges an impartial CBI investigation without political or media pressure
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray has rejected renewed attempts to associate him with the death of celebrity manager Disha Salian, saying he had never met or known her and that his name had been repeatedly dragged into the controversy without supporting evidence.
Thackeray’s remarks came after the Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR in the six-year-old case on September 14, following a direction from the Bombay High Court for a fresh investigation.
The development has brought the case back into the political spotlight, with several prominent names coming under the CBI’s scrutiny.
In a statement posted on X, Thackeray said the repeated association of his name with Salian’s death amounted to an attempt to damage his reputation.
He maintained that despite the allegations having circulated for years, no evidence establishing a connection between him and Salian had been presented.
He also appealed for the investigation to be allowed to take its course independently.
According to Thackeray, political intervention and television debates should not be allowed to influence a case that is now being examined by the investigating agency.
The CBI’s FIR has been registered pursuant to the Bombay High Court’s September 2 order. Reports on the case indicate that the agency is examining the allegations and the roles of several people whose names figure in the complaint.
However, the court made it clear while ordering the investigation that the individuals concerned should not automatically be regarded as accused unless the investigation produces sufficient material against them.
Salian, who had worked as a celebrity manager and had professional links with actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a residential building in Mumbai.
Her death occurred only days before Rajput died, leading to years of speculation and repeated attempts to connect the two cases.
Mumbai Police had previously concluded its investigation without finding evidence of foul play or a link between Salian’s death and Rajput’s death.
Thackeray said attempts to revive the allegations for political purposes would not prevent him from continuing to speak about what he described as the need for truth and due process.
He reiterated that the authorities should be allowed to establish the facts through the investigation rather than through political statements or what he described as a media-driven trial.
The controversy has intensified in recent days as the CBI inquiry has reopened public debate over circumstances surrounding Salian’s death.
The investigation is now expected to examine the allegations and available evidence before reaching any conclusions about the role, if any, of individuals named in the case.

मुंबई: शिवसेना (यूबीटी) के विधायक आदित्य ठाकरे ने दिवंगत सेलिब्रिटी मैनेजर दिशा सालियान की मौत से खुद को जोड़ने की कोशिशों को खारिज करते हुए कहा है कि वह उन्हें न तो जानते थे और न ही कभी उनसे मिले थे।
ठाकरे ने आरोप लगाया कि पिछले कई वर्षों से बिना ठोस सबूत के उनका नाम इस मामले से जोड़ा जा रहा है।
उनकी यह प्रतिक्रिया ऐसे समय आई है जब केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) ने दिशा सालियान की मौत के मामले में 14 सितंबर को FIR दर्ज कर जांच शुरू की है।
यह कार्रवाई बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के 2 सितंबर के आदेश के बाद हुई, जिसमें मामले की नए सिरे से जांच के निर्देश दिए गए थे।
एक्स पर जारी अपने बयान में ठाकरे ने कहा कि सालियान की मौत से उनका नाम लगातार जोड़ना उनकी छवि को नुकसान पहुंचाने की कोशिश है।
उनका कहना था कि करीब छह वर्षों से आरोप लगाए जा रहे हैं, लेकिन अब तक ऐसा कोई प्रमाण सामने नहीं आया है जो उनके और दिशा सालियान के बीच किसी संबंध को स्थापित करता हो।
ठाकरे ने जांच एजेंसियों को स्वतंत्र रूप से अपना काम करने देने की अपील की। उन्होंने कहा कि मामले को राजनीतिक हस्तक्षेप से दूर रखा जाना चाहिए और टेलीविजन चैनलों पर होने वाली बहसों को जांच का विकल्प नहीं बनाया जा सकता।
CBI की FIR बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के 2 सितंबर के निर्देश के बाद दर्ज की गई है। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, एजेंसी शिकायत में सामने आए विभिन्न नामों और आरोपों से जुड़े पहलुओं की जांच कर रही है।
हालांकि, हाई कोर्ट ने जांच का आदेश देते समय स्पष्ट किया था कि केवल किसी व्यक्ति का नाम सामने आ जाने से उसे आरोपी नहीं माना जा सकता।
किसी व्यक्ति के खिलाफ पर्याप्त सामग्री मिलने के बाद ही उसकी भूमिका के बारे में निष्कर्ष निकाला जा सकता है।
दिशा सालियान एक सेलिब्रिटी मैनेजर थीं और दिवंगत अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के साथ भी पेशेवर रूप से जुड़ी रही थीं। 8 जून 2020 को मुंबई की एक आवासीय इमारत से गिरने के बाद उनकी मौत हो गई थी।
इसके कुछ ही दिन बाद सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की भी मौत हुई थी। दोनों घटनाओं के बीच संबंध को लेकर वर्षों से तरह-तरह के दावे और अटकलें सामने आती रही हैं।
मुंबई पुलिस की पिछली जांच में दिशा सालियान की मौत में किसी आपराधिक साजिश या गड़बड़ी का प्रमाण नहीं मिला था। पुलिस जांच में उनकी मौत को सुशांत सिंह राजपूत की मौत से जोड़ने वाले दावों का भी समर्थन नहीं मिला था।
आदित्य ठाकरे ने कहा कि राजनीतिक उद्देश्य से लगाए जा रहे आरोप उन्हें सच्चाई और निष्पक्ष जांच की मांग उठाने से नहीं रोक सकते।
उन्होंने जोर दिया कि मामले में निष्कर्ष राजनीतिक बयानों या मीडिया बहसों के आधार पर नहीं, बल्कि जांच में सामने आने वाले तथ्यों और सबूतों के आधार पर निकाला जाना चाहिए।
CBI की नई जांच के बाद दिशा सालियान की मौत से जुड़े पुराने सवाल एक बार फिर चर्चा में हैं।
अब जांच एजेंसी के सामने उपलब्ध साक्ष्यों, बयानों और आरोपों की जांच कर यह निर्धारित करने की जिम्मेदारी है कि मामले में आगे क्या कार्रवाई की जानी चाहिए।
