Accused in Patna Coaching Institute Vandalism Case Found Dead in Nepal Amid Ongoing Investigation

In a significant development in the high-profile attack and vandalism case involving educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan’s coaching institute in Patna, one of the accused, Prince, has been found dead in Nepal under circumstances that are now under investigation.

Prince, the brother of jailed Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute director Raushan Anand, was among those named in connection with the June 2 violence outside Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna.

According to Nepal Police, he checked into a hotel in Biratnagar, eastern Nepal, on Saturday and was discovered dead in his room the following day.

Police officials in Nepal said four individuals who had accompanied Prince have been taken into custody for questioning.

Authorities are awaiting the postmortem report to determine the cause of death.

Prince’s family has been informed and is reportedly travelling to Biratnagar.

The development comes as investigations continue into the violent incident that took place outside Khan Global Studies in Patna’s Musallahpur Haat locality on the night of June 2.

Allegations in the FIR

Prince was named in a First Information Report (FIR) filed by KGS manager Kanhaiya Kumar Singh at Kadamkuan police station.

According to the complaint, a group of approximately 15 to 20 individuals allegedly linked to Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute arrived at the coaching centre shortly after classes concluded at around 10:10 p.m.

The complaint alleged that Prince, along with Abhishek, Gaurav and several others, assaulted a security guard identified as Chun Chun, damaged property within the premises, tore down signboards and photographs, and allegedly threatened to destroy the institute within two days.

Based on these allegations, police invoked several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to attempt to murder, rioting, criminal conspiracy, mischief, wrongful restraint, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

Arrests and Court Proceedings

Following the incident, Patna Police arrested Raushan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute, along with Abhishek and Gaurav on June 3.

Anand has remained in judicial custody at Beur Jail since his arrest. His initial bail application, filed on June 5, was rejected by a Patna court on June 9.

While denying bail, the court observed that the evidence available at that stage indicated the alleged assault and vandalism appeared to have been carried out under instructions issued by the coaching institute’s director.

The court also noted that the injured security guard had sustained multiple head injuries and referred to six previous criminal cases disclosed by Anand in his bail application.

Investigation Takes a New Turn

Police investigations initially relied on CCTV footage that reportedly showed stone-pelting and property damage during the incident.

Investigators linked the tensions to a dispute over competing claims regarding student success in the recently announced Bihar Police constable recruitment examination results.

However, the controversy later expanded after videos surfaced allegedly showing two security guards associated with Khan Global Studies firing weapons outside the institute following the violence.

The guards were subsequently arrested after reportedly telling investigators that they had acted on instructions from Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir.

Based on these statements, police registered a separate FIR on June 4 against Khan, the two guards and others under provisions related to attempt to murder and violations of the Arms Act.

Khan Sir Denies Allegations

Through his legal representatives, Faisal Khan has denied any wrongdoing. He has secured interim protection from arrest from a Patna court and has also approached the Patna High Court seeking the quashing of the FIR lodged against him.

The matter is scheduled to come up before the district court on June 20, while proceedings before the Patna High Court are expected to continue on July 13.

Long-Running Rivalry Between Coaching Institutes

The dispute has further highlighted the longstanding rivalry between Khan Global Studies and Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute.

Over the years, both Faisal Khan and Raushan Anand have publicly accused each other of orchestrating conspiracies and attacks against their respective organizations.

Sources familiar with the matter claim that Prince’s name had also surfaced in an earlier controversy involving Khan’s coaching institute in 2021.

With Prince’s sudden death in Nepal adding another layer of mystery to an already contentious case, investigators in both India and Nepal are expected to closely examine the circumstances surrounding his final days while the broader probe into the June 2 violence continues.
