Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Case: Police Conduct Simultaneous Raids at Homes of Eight Accused, Investigation Intensifies

The Ayodhya police have intensified their probe into the alleged embezzlement of cash and valuables donated to the Ram Temple by carrying out coordinated searches at the residences of all eight accused.

The raids were conducted on Sunday, two days after the suspects were arrested on charges of theft, criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of donations received at the temple.

All eight accused are currently lodged in judicial custody as the investigation gathers pace.

According to senior police officials, the searches formed a crucial part of the ongoing investigation and were aimed at collecting documentary as well as material evidence that could help establish the alleged financial irregularities.

Officers said the operation was carefully planned to prevent the destruction or concealment of any potential evidence.

The coordinated search operation was carried out just a day before the accused were scheduled to be produced before the court following the completion of their three-day judicial custody.

To ensure secrecy and efficiency, the Ayodhya police constituted eight separate teams comprising both male and female personnel.

Before launching the raids, the teams verified the residential addresses of all the accused and then simultaneously searched their respective houses across the city.

Earlier during the investigation, the police had claimed to have recovered cash amounting to ₹79.80 lakh from seven of the eight arrested individuals.

Those taken into custody include Avinash Shukla, Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastava.

However, investigators stated that no cash, jewellery or other valuables were recovered from the possession of Subhash Srivastava.

Among those arrested, the police first searched the residence of the prime accused, Tinnu Yadav.

Investigators alleged that he had been working as the driver of Champat Rai, who had quit as the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and had reportedly been associated with the temple’s internal operational activities since the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol.

Police officials also identified Subhash Srivastava, a retired bank employee, as another key accused in the case.

According to the investigation, he was entrusted with supervising the donation-counting process at the Pilgrim Facility Centre established within the temple complex.

The remaining six accused were reportedly assigned the responsibility of counting the cash and valuables offered by devotees as donations.

Despite the extensive search operation, investigators have not yet disclosed whether any fresh incriminating documents, cash or other evidence were recovered during Sunday’s raids.

Officials maintained that the investigation remains at a sensitive stage and details would be shared only after proper verification of the seized material, if any.

The police are now planning to widen the scope of the investigation by conducting searches at the accused persons’ native residences located in different districts outside Ayodhya.

Officials believe that additional evidence connected to the alleged diversion of temple donations may be recovered during these searches, which could further strengthen the ongoing investigation into the high-profile case.

राम मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा चढ़ाए गए नकदी और कीमती सामान के कथित गबन मामले में अयोध्या पुलिस ने अपनी जांच और तेज कर दी है। रविवार को पुलिस ने एक साथ कार्रवाई करते हुए सभी आठ आरोपियों के घरों की तलाशी ली। इससे दो दिन पहले इन लोगों को मंदिर में चढ़ावे की रकम और बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं की कथित चोरी, गबन और धन के दुरुपयोग के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। फिलहाल सभी आरोपी न्यायिक हिरासत में हैं और मामले की जांच लगातार आगे बढ़ रही है।

वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारियों के अनुसार, यह तलाशी अभियान जांच का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा था। इसका उद्देश्य ऐसे दस्तावेजी और भौतिक साक्ष्य जुटाना था, जिनसे कथित वित्तीय अनियमितताओं की परतें खुल सकें। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि पूरी कार्रवाई को बेहद गोपनीय तरीके से अंजाम दिया गया ताकि कोई भी संभावित सबूत नष्ट या छिपाया न जा सके।

यह संयुक्त छापेमारी उस समय की गई, जब तीन दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत पूरी होने के बाद सोमवार को आरोपियों को अदालत में पेश किया जाना था। अभियान को सफल बनाने के लिए अयोध्या पुलिस ने आठ अलग-अलग टीमें गठित कीं, जिनमें महिला और पुरुष दोनों पुलिसकर्मियों को शामिल किया गया। कार्रवाई शुरू करने से पहले सभी आरोपियों के पते का सत्यापन किया गया और फिर एक ही समय पर उनके घरों में तलाशी ली गई।

जांच के दौरान पुलिस पहले ही दावा कर चुकी है कि गिरफ्तार किए गए आठ आरोपियों में से सात के पास से कुल 79.80 लाख रुपये बरामद किए गए हैं। गिरफ्तार लोगों में अविनाश शुक्ला, लवकुश मिश्रा, अनुकल्प मिश्रा, मनीष कुमार यादव, करुणेश पांडेय, रामाशंकर मिश्रा, राम शंकर यादव उर्फ टिन्नू यादव और सुभाष श्रीवास्तव शामिल हैं। हालांकि पुलिस के अनुसार सुभाष श्रीवास्तव के पास से न तो नकदी और न ही कोई अन्य कीमती सामान बरामद हुआ।

गिरफ्तार आरोपियों में पुलिस सबसे पहले मुख्य आरोपी टिन्नू यादव के घर पहुंची। जांच एजेंसियों का आरोप है कि वह चंपत राय के चालक के रूप में कार्य करता था। पुलिस का कहना है कि चंपत राय, जिन्होंने श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट के महासचिव पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था, रामलला की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के बाद से मंदिर के आंतरिक संचालन से जुड़े कार्यों में सक्रिय रूप से जुड़े हुए थे।

मामले में एक अन्य आरोपी सुभाष श्रीवास्तव, जो एक सेवानिवृत्त बैंक कर्मचारी हैं, की भूमिका भी जांच के दायरे में है। पुलिस के अनुसार उन्हें मंदिर परिसर स्थित पिलग्रिम फैसिलिटी सेंटर में दान की राशि की गणना की निगरानी की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई थी। वहीं, बाकी छह आरोपी श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा चढ़ाई गई नकदी और अन्य बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं की गिनती का काम करते थे।

हालांकि रविवार को हुई तलाशी के दौरान क्या कोई नया दस्तावेज, नकदी या अन्य महत्वपूर्ण साक्ष्य बरामद हुए हैं, इस बारे में पुलिस ने अभी तक कोई आधिकारिक जानकारी साझा नहीं की है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि जांच अभी संवेदनशील चरण में है और सभी बरामद सामग्री का सत्यापन पूरा होने के बाद ही विस्तृत जानकारी सार्वजनिक की जाएगी।

जांच एजेंसियां अब इस मामले का दायरा और बढ़ाने की तैयारी कर रही हैं। पुलिस की योजना आरोपियों के अयोध्या से बाहर स्थित पैतृक घरों और अन्य ठिकानों पर भी तलाशी अभियान चलाने की है। अधिकारियों का मानना है कि इन स्थानों से मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा चढ़ाए गए दान के कथित गबन से जुड़े अतिरिक्त साक्ष्य मिल सकते हैं, जिससे पूरे मामले की जांच को और मजबूती मिलेगी।
