UP Government to Develop 10,000-Acre Greenfield Industrial City in Hathras, Linked to Jewar Airport
The Uttar Pradesh government has begun work on an ambitious 10,000-acre greenfield urban development project in Hathras under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority’s (YEIDA) Master Plan 2041.
The upcoming township is being designed as a major manufacturing and industrial destination that will benefit from its strategic proximity to the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
Envisioned as one of the four key urban centres proposed by YEIDA, the Hathras Urban Centre will be developed alongside similar projects in Aligarh, Mathura and Agra.
Spread across nearly 4,000 hectares, the township will cover around 50 villages located in Hathras and Sasni tehsils.
To ensure scientific and sustainable planning, YEIDA has appointed RV Engineering Consultants Limited to prepare the city’s master plan.
The blueprint will be created using advanced Geographic Information System (GIS)-based mapping technology to facilitate systematic infrastructure development.
Authorities have planned the project as an integrated satellite city featuring industrial, residential, commercial, logistics and recreational zones.
More than 15 per cent of the total planning area has been earmarked for green belts and open spaces to preserve environmental balance and improve the quality of urban life.
Officials believe the project’s strategic location within the influence zone of the Noida International Airport, combined with seamless connectivity through the Yamuna Expressway and several state highways, will make Hathras an attractive destination for manufacturing industries, warehousing and logistics investments.
Besides serving as a new industrial hub, the proposed township is also expected to function as a satellite city for Agra, helping reduce industrial congestion while promoting balanced regional development across western Uttar Pradesh.
The new urban centre will also strengthen Hathras’ existing industrial ecosystem, which already comprises more than 10,000 registered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Businesses operating under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, particularly the district’s well-known asafoetida (hing) and gulal manufacturing units, are likely to benefit from world-class export infrastructure, advanced packaging facilities and improved market access.
According to the proposed master plan, dedicated industrial clusters will be established for sectors including food processing, dairy products, hosiery, glass beads, brass jewellery, machine tools and electric vehicle components, creating a diversified manufacturing base.
In the next phase of development, YEIDA intends to attract investments in high-end manufacturing industries such as medical equipment, surgical instruments and power grid machinery, further expanding Hathras’ industrial profile.
Officials confirmed that work on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the land acquisition process has already commenced.
Once the project is completed, it is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities while transforming Hathras into one of western Uttar Pradesh’s emerging industrial growth centres.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Hathras on Sunday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 143 development projects valued at more than ₹548 crore, reinforcing the state’s focus on accelerating infrastructure and industrial development in the region.

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे औद्योगिक विकास प्राधिकरण (YEIDA) की मास्टर प्लान-2041 के तहत हाथरस में 10,000 एकड़ क्षेत्र में ग्रीनफील्ड शहरी परियोजना पर काम शुरू कर दिया है। इस महत्वाकांक्षी योजना को एक बड़े औद्योगिक एवं विनिर्माण केंद्र के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है, जिसे जेवर स्थित नोएडा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट से मिलने वाली बेहतर कनेक्टिविटी का लाभ मिलेगा।
यह प्रस्तावित हाथरस अर्बन सेंटर, अलीगढ़, मथुरा और आगरा के साथ YEIDA द्वारा विकसित किए जाने वाले चार प्रमुख शहरी केंद्रों में शामिल होगा। करीब 4,000 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में फैली यह आधुनिक नगरी हाथरस और सासनी तहसील के लगभग 50 गांवों को अपने दायरे में शामिल करेगी।
परियोजना की वैज्ञानिक और सुव्यवस्थित रूपरेखा तैयार करने के लिए प्राधिकरण ने आरवी इंजीनियरिंग कंसल्टेंट्स लिमिटेड को नियुक्त किया है। शहर का मास्टर प्लान अत्याधुनिक जीआईएस (Geographic Information System) आधारित मैपिंग तकनीक की सहायता से तैयार किया जाएगा ताकि भविष्य की जरूरतों के अनुरूप योजनाबद्ध विकास सुनिश्चित किया जा सके।
नई टाउनशिप को मिश्रित उपयोग वाले सैटेलाइट शहर के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा, जिसमें औद्योगिक, आवासीय, वाणिज्यिक, लॉजिस्टिक्स और हरित क्षेत्रों का संतुलित विकास किया जाएगा। पर्यावरण संरक्षण और बेहतर शहरी जीवन को ध्यान में रखते हुए कुल नियोजित क्षेत्र का 15 प्रतिशत से अधिक हिस्सा हरित पट्टी और खुले स्थानों के लिए सुरक्षित रखा गया है।
प्राधिकरण के अधिकारियों का मानना है कि नोएडा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट के प्रभाव क्षेत्र में स्थित होने के साथ-साथ यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे और विभिन्न राज्य राजमार्गों से उत्कृष्ट संपर्क इस परियोजना को विनिर्माण उद्योगों, वेयरहाउसिंग और लॉजिस्टिक्स निवेश के लिए बेहद आकर्षक बनाएगा।
औद्योगिक विकास के साथ-साथ इस नए शहर की योजना आगरा के सैटेलाइट टाउन के रूप में भी तैयार की जा रही है, जिससे आगरा पर बढ़ते औद्योगिक दबाव को कम करने और पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में संतुलित क्षेत्रीय विकास को गति देने में मदद मिलेगी।
यह परियोजना हाथरस के पहले से मौजूद औद्योगिक आधार को भी नई मजबूती देगी। जिले में वर्तमान में 10,000 से अधिक पंजीकृत सूक्ष्म, लघु एवं मध्यम उद्यम (MSME) संचालित हैं। वन डिस्ट्रिक्ट वन प्रोडक्ट (ODOP) योजना के तहत प्रसिद्ध हाथरस की हींग और गुलाल उद्योगों को आधुनिक निर्यात सुविधाओं, उन्नत पैकेजिंग व्यवस्था और बेहतर बाजार उपलब्ध होने से विशेष लाभ मिलने की उम्मीद है।
प्रस्तावित मास्टर प्लान में फूड प्रोसेसिंग, डेयरी उद्योग, होजरी, ग्लास बीड्स, पीतल आभूषण, मशीन टूल्स तथा इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल कंपोनेंट्स जैसे क्षेत्रों के लिए अलग-अलग औद्योगिक क्लस्टर विकसित करने का प्रावधान किया गया है, जिससे विविध प्रकार के उद्योगों को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
परियोजना के अगले चरण में मेडिकल उपकरण, सर्जिकल डिवाइस और पावर ग्रिड मशीनरी जैसे उन्नत विनिर्माण क्षेत्रों में निवेश आकर्षित करने की भी योजना बनाई गई है, जिससे हाथरस उच्च तकनीक आधारित औद्योगिक केंद्र के रूप में भी अपनी पहचान बना सकेगा।
अधिकारियों के अनुसार विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट (डीपीआर) तैयार करने और भूमि अधिग्रहण की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो चुकी है। परियोजना के पूर्ण होने पर बड़े पैमाने पर प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होंगे तथा हाथरस पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के उभरते औद्योगिक विकास केंद्र के रूप में स्थापित होगा।
इसी बीच मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने रविवार को हाथरस का दौरा किया, जहां उन्होंने 548 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक लागत वाली 143 विकास परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास किया। सरकार का मानना है कि ये परियोजनाएं क्षेत्र में औद्योगिक और आधारभूत ढांचे के विकास को नई गति देंगी।
