CAT lawyers in Allahabad continue strike on third day on Wednesday

The lawyers belonging to Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Allahabad Bench continued to abstain from judicial work on the second consecutive day on Tuesday in protest against curtailment of jurisdiction of this Tribunal.

As part of their agitation, the lawyers, under the aegis of CAT bar association continued to sat on dharna in the  premises of the tribunal in support of their demand. They have resolved to boycott the judicial work on April 30 also.

According to general secretary of CAT Bar Association, Jitendra Nayak, despite repeated communications, the chairman of the principal bench has continued to discard the concerns raised by the CAT bar association, Allahabad bench.

“The principal bench has persistently accepted the cases that fall squarely within the territorial jurisdiction of the Allahabad bench in violation of the rules of the Central Administrative Tribunal Act”, a release issued by the CAT bar association added.

In this backdrop, the members of the CAT bar association have decided to continue to boycott the judicial work on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, added the general secretary.

Former President CAT Bar Association, Anil Kumar Sing, said the strike would continue as long as their demands are not addressed.
