Centre Begins Clearing Delhi Protest Sites After Dharmendra Pradhan Quits; CJP Insists Agitation Will Continue Until Written Assurances

The Union government on Saturday initiated the removal of demonstrators from protest locations across the national capital shortly after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Senior Delhi Police officials, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma, arrived at Parliament Street with paramilitary personnel to supervise the operation and restore normalcy in the area.

Large groups of protesters gradually started leaving Jantar Mantar through the Janpath side near Metro Gate No. 2, raising slogans and celebrating what they viewed as a significant breakthrough.

Many participants admitted they had not yet decided where they would head next, while several asserted that their agitation would continue until Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stepped down from office.

Movement from the Sansad Marg side remained completely restricted after security agencies sealed the exit.

With only the Janpath passage left accessible, police created a narrow corridor to facilitate the controlled dispersal of the gathering while preventing overcrowding and maintaining law and order.

Tension had escalated at the protest venue just hours before the Education Minister’s resignation became public, as demonstrators and police personnel clashed briefly at Jantar Mantar.

Security forces quickly intervened to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

Volunteers associated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) repeatedly appealed to participants to maintain discipline, remain non-violent and cooperate with security personnel deployed across the protest site.

They urged supporters not to jeopardise their future after claiming that the movement had already secured its immediate objective, while also requesting people to alert nearby police officers if anyone attempted to provoke violence or create disturbances.

Even as celebrations continued, CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka made it clear that the protesters would not withdraw unless the government formally accepted the organisation’s three demands in writing.

Addressing supporters, he declared that the agitation would conclude only after receiving a written commitment from the authorities.

Ranka also disclosed that permission had been sought to organise a peaceful nationwide candlelight march at 6 pm and appealed to citizens across the country to participate.

Another senior spokesperson, Saurav Das, informed demonstrators that the organisation’s delegation had been invited for another round of discussions with government representatives at 3.30 pm.

He described the resignation as an important milestone but stressed that the protest would continue until every demand was accepted through an official written assurance.

News of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation triggered jubilant scenes at Jantar Mantar, where protesters hugged one another, chanted patriotic slogans and sang the national anthem.

Since internet connectivity remained unreliable at the venue, many participants contacted relatives and friends to verify the reports before joining the celebrations.

Students and parents described the minister’s resignation as a landmark achievement for the youth-led movement.

Still, they maintained that the campaign for accountability and comprehensive reforms in the education sector was far from over.

While several protesters said their principal demand had been fulfilled, others insisted that wider structural changes and greater responsibility within the system were equally essential.

Separately, Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory asking commuters to avoid the New Delhi district due to exceptionally heavy crowds and prolonged traffic congestion.

Citizens were urged to use alternate routes to minimise inconvenience and ensure smoother travel across the city.

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को अपना इस्तीफा सौंपने के तुरंत बाद शनिवार को केंद्र सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के विभिन्न प्रदर्शन स्थलों को खाली कराने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी।

संसद मार्ग स्थित धरना स्थल पर पुलिस उपायुक्त सचिन शर्मा अर्द्धसैनिक बलों के साथ पहुंचे और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की निगरानी करते हुए भीड़ को शांतिपूर्वक हटाने की कार्रवाई का नेतृत्व किया।

जंतर-मंतर से बड़ी संख्या में प्रदर्शनकारी जनपथ स्थित मेट्रो गेट संख्या-2 की ओर से बाहर निकलते दिखाई दिए। लोग नारे लगाते हुए इस घटनाक्रम को अपनी बड़ी सफलता बता रहे थे।

हालांकि अधिकांश प्रदर्शनकारियों को यह स्पष्ट नहीं था कि वे आगे कहां जाएंगे, जबकि कई लोगों ने कहा कि उनका आंदोलन तब तक समाप्त नहीं होगा, जब तक प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी पद नहीं छोड़ते।

संसद मार्ग की ओर जाने वाला निकास पूरी तरह बंद रखा गया, जबकि केवल जनपथ वाला मार्ग खुला छोड़ा गया। पुलिस ने भीड़ की सुरक्षित निकासी सुनिश्चित करने के लिए संकरी आवाजाही का रास्ता बनाया ताकि लोग नियंत्रित तरीके से बाहर निकल सकें और किसी प्रकार की अव्यवस्था उत्पन्न न हो।

शिक्षा मंत्री के इस्तीफे की घोषणा से लगभग एक घंटे पहले जंतर-मंतर पर प्रदर्शनकारियों और पुलिस के बीच तीखी झड़प हुई थी। हालांकि सुरक्षा बलों ने तत्काल हस्तक्षेप कर हालात को नियंत्रण में ले लिया और स्थिति को अधिक बिगड़ने से रोक दिया।

कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के स्वयंसेवकों ने प्रदर्शनकारियों से लगातार संयम बनाए रखने, शांतिपूर्ण ढंग से आंदोलन जारी रखने और सुरक्षा बलों के साथ सहयोग करने की अपील की।

उन्होंने कहा कि आंदोलन अपने तत्काल उद्देश्य को हासिल कर चुका है और अब किसी भी प्रकार की हिंसा या अव्यवस्था से युवाओं का भविष्य प्रभावित नहीं होना चाहिए।

स्वयंसेवकों ने लोगों से यह भी आग्रह किया कि यदि कोई व्यक्ति माहौल बिगाड़ने का प्रयास करे तो उसकी सूचना तुरंत निकट मौजूद पुलिसकर्मियों को दें।

इसी बीच CJP के राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता आशुतोष रंका ने स्पष्ट किया कि केवल मंत्री का इस्तीफा पर्याप्त नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि संगठन तब तक धरना समाप्त नहीं करेगा, जब तक सरकार उनकी तीनों मांगों को लिखित रूप में स्वीकार नहीं कर लेती।

रंका ने यह भी बताया कि शाम छह बजे देशव्यापी शांतिपूर्ण कैंडल मार्च आयोजित करने की अनुमति मांगी गई है और नागरिकों से उसमें बड़ी संख्या में शामिल होने का आह्वान किया।

संगठन के एक अन्य प्रवक्ता सौरव दास ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को संबोधित करते हुए बताया कि प्रतिनिधिमंडल को अपराह्न 3:30 बजे सरकार के साथ एक और दौर की वार्ता के लिए बुलाया गया है। उन्होंने इसे आंदोलन की बड़ी उपलब्धि बताया, लेकिन कहा कि जब तक सभी मांगों पर लिखित सहमति नहीं मिलती, तब तक आंदोलन जारी रहेगा।

धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की खबर सामने आते ही जंतर-मंतर पर उत्साह का माहौल बन गया। प्रदर्शनकारी एक-दूसरे को गले लगाते दिखाई दिए, देशभक्ति के नारे लगाए गए और राष्ट्रीय गान भी गाया गया।

प्रदर्शन स्थल पर इंटरनेट सेवाएं बाधित होने के कारण कई लोगों ने अपने परिजनों और मित्रों से संपर्क कर पहले खबर की पुष्टि की, उसके बाद जश्न मनाया।

छात्रों और अभिभावकों ने मंत्री के इस्तीफे को युवाओं के आंदोलन की महत्वपूर्ण जीत बताया, लेकिन साथ ही स्पष्ट किया कि उनका संघर्ष अभी समाप्त नहीं हुआ है।

उनका कहना था कि शिक्षा व्यवस्था में व्यापक सुधार, जवाबदेही तय करना और प्रणालीगत परिवर्तन सुनिश्चित करना अब भी उनकी प्राथमिक मांगों में शामिल है।

उधर, दिल्ली पुलिस ने नागरिकों के लिए यातायात परामर्श जारी करते हुए लोगों से नई दिल्ली क्षेत्र की ओर जाने से बचने की अपील की।

भारी भीड़ और गंभीर यातायात जाम को देखते हुए पुलिस ने यात्रियों से वैकल्पिक मार्गों का उपयोग करने का आग्रह किया ताकि उन्हें अनावश्यक परेशानी का सामना न करना पड़े।
