Cockroach Janta Party Charts Nationwide Outreach, Says It Will Remain a Pressure Group Supporting Student Movements
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led platform that gained national attention during recent student demonstrations, has indicated that it intends to continue functioning as a public advocacy movement rather than transforming into a political party.
The announcement was made during the organisation’s two-day strategy meeting in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where its leadership discussed plans to broaden its presence across the country.
Addressing journalists, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke clarified that the organisation’s immediate objective is not to contest elections but to influence public policy and amplify issues affecting young people.
He said the platform would continue functioning as a pressure group focused on education, employment and governance-related concerns.
Dipke, 30, launched the CJP nearly two months ago as a satirical public initiative.
What initially began as an online campaign gradually evolved into a nationwide youth mobilisation after the organisation played a prominent role in protests over alleged examination paper leaks.
The movement later drew widespread public attention following large-scale demonstrations in the national capital.
In the weeks that followed, the organisation emerged as a prominent platform for students and young job aspirants expressing concerns over recruitment processes, unemployment and alleged irregularities within the education sector.
Speaking about the future direction of the movement, Dipke reiterated that the organisation has no immediate intention of entering electoral politics.
Instead, he said its focus would remain on mobilising public opinion and encouraging policy reforms through democratic means.
He explained that the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar meeting had been convened to formulate a long-term strategy for expanding the movement’s outreach.
According to him, discussions centred on identifying regions where the organisation could engage with young people and support issues affecting students and employment seekers.
As part of its expansion plans, the organisation has proposed a nationwide listening campaign aimed at interacting directly with students and youth from different states to better understand local concerns and strengthen grassroots engagement.
Dipke also indicated that the platform was evaluating ways to extend support to student-led movements emerging in other parts of the country.
He stated that the organisation stands with students wherever they raise issues relating to education, examinations or employment opportunities.
The strategy meeting was attended by CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with nearly 50 core volunteers who remained actively associated with the organisation throughout the recent demonstrations in Delhi.
During the interaction, Dipke also expressed concern over declining public confidence in several national institutions, claiming that a significant section of society had become increasingly sceptical about political leadership, governance mechanisms and institutional functioning.
The deliberations took place at a time when protests in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination continued to gather momentum.
Earlier in the day, environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk publicly extended support to the ongoing Jharkhand movement.
Wangchuk, who had earlier observed a prolonged fast during the Delhi demonstrations, also interacted with student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is currently on an indefinite hunger strike.
When asked whether the Cockroach Janta Party would directly participate in the Jharkhand agitation, Dipke said the proposal would be discussed during the strategy session, and an appropriate decision would be taken after internal consultations.
He also described Wangchuk as an important guide for the movement.
According to the organisation, its leadership has spent the past several days consulting individuals from different sectors while preparing a roadmap for the next phase of the campaign.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the recent mobilisation demonstrated the collective strength of young people when united around common concerns.
He added that the organisation was working on a structured plan to transform the aspirations of India’s youth into constructive public engagement.
With the strategy meeting underway, attention now remains focused on the organisation’s future course as it seeks to expand nationally while retaining the independent identity that attracted widespread support during the recent student movement.

हाल के छात्र आंदोलनों के दौरान राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर चर्चा में आई कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) ने स्पष्ट किया है कि उसका उद्देश्य फिलहाल राजनीतिक दल के रूप में चुनाव लड़ना नहीं, बल्कि जनहित के मुद्दों पर प्रभावी जनदबाव तैयार करना है।
महाराष्ट्र के छत्रपति संभाजीनगर में आयोजित संगठन की दो दिवसीय रणनीतिक बैठक के दौरान नेतृत्व ने भविष्य की कार्ययोजना और देशभर में संगठन की पहुंच बढ़ाने पर विचार-विमर्श किया।
मीडिया से बातचीत करते हुए संस्थापक अभिजीत दिपके ने कहा कि संगठन का वर्तमान लक्ष्य चुनावी राजनीति में प्रवेश करना नहीं है।
उन्होंने कहा कि CJP शिक्षा, रोजगार और युवाओं से जुड़े सार्वजनिक मुद्दों पर दबाव समूह के रूप में कार्य जारी रखेगी तथा नीतिगत सुधारों के लिए लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से आवाज उठाएगी।
करीब दो महीने पहले व्यंग्यात्मक सामाजिक पहल के रूप में शुरू हुई CJP ने समय के साथ छात्र समुदाय के बीच अपनी अलग पहचान बनाई।
परीक्षा में कथित अनियमितताओं और प्रश्नपत्र लीक के मुद्दे पर हुए प्रदर्शनों में सक्रिय भागीदारी के बाद संगठन राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर चर्चा का विषय बन गया।
इसके बाद यह मंच बड़ी संख्या में छात्रों, प्रतियोगी परीक्षा अभ्यर्थियों और बेरोजगार युवाओं के लिए एक साझा आवाज के रूप में उभरा, जहां भर्ती प्रक्रियाओं, रोजगार के अवसरों और शिक्षा व्यवस्था से जुड़े मुद्दों को प्रमुखता से उठाया गया।
दिपके ने दोहराया कि संगठन फिलहाल किसी राजनीतिक दल का स्वरूप ग्रहण करने की दिशा में आगे नहीं बढ़ रहा है।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्राथमिकता जनसमर्थन को संगठित कर लोकतांत्रिक माध्यमों से सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने की रहेगी।
उन्होंने बताया कि छत्रपति संभाजीनगर में आयोजित रणनीतिक बैठक का उद्देश्य आगामी चरण की रूपरेखा तैयार करना है।
इसमें विभिन्न राज्यों में संगठन की संभावित भूमिका, युवाओं से संवाद और सामाजिक मुद्दों पर सक्रिय भागीदारी जैसे विषयों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की जा रही है।
इसी क्रम में संगठन ने देशभर में युवाओं से सीधे संवाद स्थापित करने के लिए एक व्यापक ‘लिसनिंग टूर’ प्रारंभ करने की योजना भी बनाई है, जिसके माध्यम से विभिन्न राज्यों में जाकर छात्रों और युवाओं की समस्याओं को समझने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।
दिपके ने संकेत दिया कि देश के अन्य हिस्सों में चल रहे छात्र आंदोलनों को भी संगठन समर्थन देने के विकल्पों पर विचार कर रहा है।
उन्होंने कहा कि जहां भी छात्र शिक्षा, परीक्षाओं या रोजगार से जुड़े मुद्दों पर आवाज उठाएंगे, वहां CJP उनके साथ खड़ी रहने का प्रयास करेगी।
बैठक में संगठन के प्रवक्ता सौरव दास, आशुतोष रांका तथा दिल्ली आंदोलन के दौरान सक्रिय भूमिका निभाने वाले लगभग 50 प्रमुख स्वयंसेवकों ने भी भाग लिया।
संवाद के दौरान दिपके ने यह भी कहा कि समाज के एक वर्ग में विभिन्न संस्थानों के प्रति भरोसे में कमी महसूस की जा रही है।
उन्होंने दावा किया कि राजनीतिक व्यवस्था, शासन प्रणाली और संस्थागत प्रक्रियाओं को लेकर लोगों के बीच अनेक प्रश्न उभर रहे हैं।
यह बैठक ऐसे समय आयोजित हुई जब झारखंड लोक सेवा आयोग (JPSC) की सिविल सेवा परीक्षा में कथित अनियमितताओं के विरोध में चल रहा छात्र आंदोलन लगातार गति पकड़ रहा है।
इसी दिन पर्यावरण कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक ने भी झारखंड में आंदोलन कर रहे छात्रों के प्रति अपना समर्थन व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने अनिश्चितकालीन भूख हड़ताल पर बैठे छात्र नेता देवेंद्र नाथ महतो से भी बातचीत की।
झारखंड आंदोलन में CJP की संभावित भागीदारी के संबंध में पूछे गए प्रश्न पर दिपके ने कहा कि इस विषय पर रणनीतिक बैठक में चर्चा की जाएगी और परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप निर्णय लिया जाएगा। उन्होंने सोनम वांगचुक को आंदोलन का मार्गदर्शक भी बताया।
संगठन के अनुसार पिछले कुछ दिनों में उसके नेतृत्व ने विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के लोगों से लगातार विचार-विमर्श किया है ताकि आगामी चरण के लिए एक प्रभावी कार्ययोजना तैयार की जा सके।
CJP के प्रवक्ता सौरव दास ने कहा कि हालिया घटनाक्रम ने यह दिखाया है कि जब युवा साझा मुद्दों पर एकजुट होकर लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से आगे बढ़ते हैं, तो वे व्यापक जनसमर्थन प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि संगठन युवाओं की अपेक्षाओं को रचनात्मक सामाजिक पहल में बदलने के लिए दीर्घकालिक रणनीति तैयार कर रहा है।
दो दिवसीय बैठक के निष्कर्षों पर अब सभी की नजरें टिकी हैं। आने वाले समय में यह स्पष्ट होगा कि संगठन राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अपने अभियान का विस्तार किस दिशा में करता है और किस प्रकार अपनी स्वतंत्र पहचान को बनाए रखते हुए युवाओं के मुद्दों को आगे बढ़ाता है।
