CTET September 2026 Postponed: CBSE to Announce New Exam Date at ctet. nic. in
The Central Board of Secondary Education has deferred the September 6 CTET after reopening the application portal to give eligible candidates another opportunity to register following a Supreme Court judgment.
New Delhi: Candidates preparing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) have been given more time, with the Central Board of Secondary Education postponing the examination that was earlier scheduled for September 6, 2026.
The board has not yet announced the rescheduled examination date. Candidates have been advised to keep checking the official CTET website for the revised timetable and other updates.
The postponement comes after CBSE reopened the online application facility for CTET September 2026.
The fresh registration window will remain available until September 1, 2026, allowing eligible candidates who missed the earlier deadline to submit their applications.
According to the official notice, the decision was taken in the context of a Supreme Court judgment that stressed the need to provide eligible teachers with a reasonable opportunity to meet the statutory requirement of obtaining the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test qualification.
CBSE said the additional application period has been opened in the larger interest of candidates.
Those who had already successfully submitted their CTET applications do not need to register again.
How to Apply for CTET September 2026
Candidates who are yet to apply can complete the process through the official CTET website:
Visit the official CTET portal at ctet.nic.in.
Select the link for the CTET September 2026 application window.
Complete the registration process using the required details.
Fill in the online application form.
Pay the applicable examination fee through the available online payment modes.
Submit the completed application.
Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
The application fee for candidates in the General and OBC (NCL) categories is ₹1,000 for one paper and ₹1,200 for both papers.
For candidates belonging to the SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities categories, the fee is ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both papers.
Applicants can pay the examination fee through debit card, credit card or net banking.
CTET consists of two papers. According to the existing examination schedule, Paper II is to be conducted from 9.30 am to 12 noon, while Paper I is scheduled from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
Any change in these timings, along with the final examination date, will be communicated through official CBSE CTET announcements.
Candidates have been advised to rely on the official CTET website for further instructions regarding the revised examination schedule and other important notices.

CBSE ने 6 सितंबर को होने वाली CTET सितंबर 2026 परीक्षा स्थगित कर दी है। आवेदन पोर्टल 1 सितंबर तक खुला रहेगा, जबकि संशोधित परीक्षा तिथि जल्द ctet.nic.इन पर जारी की जाएगी।
नई दिल्ली: केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड (CBSE) ने केंद्रीय शिक्षक पात्रता परीक्षा (CTET) सितंबर 2026 को स्थगित कर दिया है।
यह परीक्षा पहले 6 सितंबर 2026 को आयोजित की जानी थी। बोर्ड ने कहा है कि संशोधित परीक्षा तिथि की घोषणा जल्द आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर की जाएगी।
परीक्षा स्थगित करने का फैसला ऐसे समय लिया गया है जब CBSE ने CTET सितंबर 2026 के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन की सुविधा दोबारा शुरू की है।
नए अवसर के तहत पात्र उम्मीदवार 1 सितंबर 2026 तक आवेदन कर सकेंगे।
बोर्ड के आधिकारिक नोटिस के अनुसार, यह कदम सुप्रीम कोर्ट के उस फैसले के संदर्भ में उठाया गया है, जिसमें पात्र शिक्षकों को निर्धारित TET योग्यता हासिल करने के लिए उचित अवसर दिए जाने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया गया था।
CBSE ने उम्मीदवारों के व्यापक हित को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन पात्र अभ्यर्थियों के लिए आवेदन पोर्टल दोबारा खोला है, जो पहले उपलब्ध कराई गई आवेदन अवधि में आवेदन नहीं कर सके थे।
नोटिस में यह भी स्पष्ट किया गया है कि जिन उम्मीदवारों ने पहले ही अपना आवेदन सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर जमा कर दिया है, उन्हें दोबारा आवेदन करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
CTET सितंबर 2026 के लिए आवेदन कैसे करें
जिन अभ्यर्थियों ने अभी तक आवेदन नहीं किया है, वे निम्न प्रक्रिया अपना सकते हैं:

होमपेज पर उपलब्ध CTET सितंबर 2026 आवेदन लिंक पर क्लिक करें।
नए उम्मीदवार के रूप में आवश्यक जानकारी देकर पंजीकरण करें।
आवेदन पत्र में मांगी गई सभी जानकारियां भरें।
निर्धारित परीक्षा शुल्क का ऑनलाइन भुगतान करें।
आवेदन पत्र को अंतिम रूप से जमा करें।
पुष्टि पृष्ठ डाउनलोड कर उसका प्रिंट या डिजिटल कॉपी सुरक्षित रखें।
सामान्य और ओबीसी (NCL) श्रेणी के उम्मीदवारों के लिए एक पेपर का शुल्क ₹1,000 और दोनों पेपरों के लिए ₹1,200 निर्धारित किया गया है।
वहीं SC, ST और दिव्यांग श्रेणी के उम्मीदवारों को एक पेपर के लिए ₹500 तथा दोनों पेपरों के लिए ₹600 का शुल्क देना होगा।

CTET में दो पेपर आयोजित किए जाते हैं। मौजूदा निर्धारित समय के अनुसार, पेपर-II सुबह 9:30 बजे से दोपहर 12 बजे तक और पेपर-I दोपहर 2:30 बजे से शाम 5 बजे तक आयोजित होना था।
संशोधित परीक्षा तिथि के साथ परीक्षा समय में कोई बदलाव होता है तो CBSE इसकी अलग से सूचना देगा।
