Delhi Gym Owner Killing: Police Trace Suspected Shooters, Probe Gang Link and Family Feud

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have identified the suspected shooters in the killing of 28-year-old gym owner Vijay Kumar Lohia in south Delhi’s Aya Nagar, a day after he was gunned down outside his gym, according to police sources.
Investigators are now piecing together the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the possible involvement of organised crime networks and a prolonged dispute between two families in the locality.
Police are also examining a purported social-media post in which foreign-based gangster Himanshu Bhau is said to have claimed responsibility for the attack.
Bhau is suspected by investigators to be staying in the US. Officials are yet to establish whether the post is genuine.
CCTV recordings from the area are being scrutinised as part of efforts to identify and trace the men who fled after the shooting.
Police suspect two of the assailants escaped on a black Apache motorcycle in the direction of Faridabad. One of the suspected shooters was reportedly captured on camera wearing a cap and carrying a backpack.
Investigators have found that the registration number displayed on the motorcycle was allegedly fake.
The firearms used in the attack are suspected to be foreign-made pistols, with police examining whether they were sourced through a network associated with the Bhau gang.
The killing has also brought renewed attention to a bitter dispute between two families in Aya Nagar.
Police believe Vijay’s murder is the third killing linked to the feud, which they say arose from a financial dispute between families living within roughly a kilometre of each other.
Vijay was attacked on Monday morning outside the gym where he worked. Police said he suffered more than 10 bullet wounds.
The killing bears similarities to the murder of his uncle, Ratan Lohia, who was shot dead in November last year.
The investigation into Ratan’s killing had led to the arrest of alleged shooters and the suspected person who had arranged the contract, according to police.
Investigators said those arrested were linked to criminal networks associated with Western Uttar Pradesh gangster Randeep Bhati and foreign-based gangsters Neeraj Faridpuria and Himanshu Bhau.
Police have traced the origins of the family dispute to the killing of Arun Bidhuri in May 2024.
According to the investigation, Arun was allegedly murdered by Ratan’s son Deepak and Vijay’s elder brother Ajay.
Deepak and Ajay, along with a man identified as Yogesh, are currently in jail in connection with that case.
Investigators have also alleged that Kamal, Arun’s uncle, arranged the men accused of carrying out Ratan’s murder. Kamal, who has a criminal record, was arrested after Ratan was killed.
Despite attempts by both sides to settle the dispute, the conflict continued. Police said members of the two families held meetings after Ratan’s murder in an effort to reach a compromise.
The village panchayat also reportedly attempted mediation, but the efforts did not produce a lasting settlement.
A recent court proceeding in the Arun Bidhuri murder case is now being examined by investigators.
Sources said Ajay allegedly warned members of the rival family during the hearing that they would have to face the consequences in the days ahead.
Police are examining whether the alleged exchange had any connection with the subsequent attack on Vijay.
Investigators suspect the latest killing was not spontaneous and may have been prepared in advance.
Police are looking into the possibility that the assailants conducted reconnaissance in Aya Nagar and tracked Vijay’s daily routine, including his regular morning visits to the gym.
As part of the investigation, police may question Kamal, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, along with other members of Arun Bidhuri’s family to establish whether they had any role or knowledge concerning the latest killing.
Meanwhile, anger has been growing among Vijay’s relatives and residents of Aya Nagar.
His family and residents said on Tuesday that they planned to stage a protest demanding justice and action against those responsible for his killing.
Vijay’s wife Ritu said he had received threats before the shooting.
She claimed that Vijay had reassured her that he would not be attacked because, in his view, he had no involvement in Arun Bidhuri’s murder.
The police investigation is continuing, with officers examining CCTV footage, the suspected motorcycle, the weapons, the alleged threats, and possible links to criminal gangs as they work to establish the motive and identify everyone involved in the killing.

नई दिल्ली: दक्षिण दिल्ली के आया नगर में 28 वर्षीय जिम संचालक विजय कुमार लोहिया की हत्या के एक दिन बाद दिल्ली पुलिस ने कथित तौर पर वारदात को अंजाम देने वाले शूटरों की पहचान कर ली है।
पुलिस अब हत्या के पीछे की पूरी साजिश और संभावित आपराधिक नेटवर्क की कड़ियों को जोड़ने में जुटी है।
जांच में पुलिस इस बात की भी पड़ताल कर रही है कि हत्या का संबंध इलाके के दो परिवारों के बीच लंबे समय से चले आ रहे विवाद और कथित वित्तीय रंजिश से तो नहीं है।
इसी के साथ मामले में संगठित अपराध से जुड़े संभावित संपर्कों की भी जांच की जा रही है।
पुलिस सूत्रों के मुताबिक, विदेश में छिपे होने के संदेह वाले गैंगस्टर हिमांशु भाऊ के नाम से सोमवार देर रात सोशल मीडिया पर एक कथित पोस्ट प्रसारित हुई, जिसमें हत्या की जिम्मेदारी लेने का दावा किया गया। हालांकि पुलिस ने अभी इस पोस्ट की प्रामाणिकता की पुष्टि नहीं की है।
वारदात के बाद हमलावर जिस रास्ते से फरार हुए, उसका पता लगाने के लिए पुलिस इलाके के सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगाल रही है।
जांचकर्ताओं को संदेह है कि दो आरोपी काले रंग की अपाचे मोटरसाइकिल से फरीदाबाद की ओर भागे। फुटेज में एक संदिग्ध के सिर पर कैप और पीठ पर बैग दिखाई देने की बात सामने आई है।
पुलिस के अनुसार, मोटरसाइकिल पर लगी नंबर प्लेट का पंजीकरण नंबर कथित तौर पर फर्जी पाया गया है। जांच में यह भी आशंका जताई जा रही है कि हत्या में इस्तेमाल की गई पिस्तौल विदेशी निर्मित हो सकती है।
पुलिस इस पहलू की भी जांच कर रही है कि क्या हथियार किसी ऐसे नेटवर्क के जरिए उपलब्ध कराए गए थे, जिसका संबंध भाऊ गिरोह से माना जाता है।
विजय की हत्या ने आया नगर में दो परिवारों के बीच चल रहे पुराने विवाद को फिर चर्चा में ला दिया है।
पुलिस की प्रारंभिक जांच के मुताबिक, यह इस विवाद से जुड़ी तीसरी हत्या हो सकती है। बताया जा रहा है कि दोनों परिवार करीब एक किलोमीटर के दायरे में रहते हैं और उनके बीच विवाद की जड़ में आर्थिक लेन-देन से जुड़ा मामला रहा है।
सोमवार सुबह विजय को उसके जिम के बाहर निशाना बनाया गया। पुलिस के मुताबिक, उसके शरीर पर 10 से अधिक गोलियों के निशान मिले।
इससे पहले नवंबर में विजय के चाचा रतन लोहिया की भी इसी तरह गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी।
रतन हत्याकांड की जांच के दौरान पुलिस ने कथित शूटरों और हत्या की साजिश को अंजाम देने के लिए लोगों को कथित तौर पर जुटाने वाले व्यक्ति को गिरफ्तार किया था।
पुलिस के अनुसार, आरोपियों के संबंध पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के गैंगस्टर रंदीप भाटी तथा विदेश में मौजूद बताए जा रहे गैंगस्टरों नीरज फरीदपुरिया और हिमांशु भाऊ से जुड़े होने की जांच की गई थी।
पुलिस के अनुसार, दोनों परिवारों के बीच विवाद की शुरुआत मई 2024 में अरुण बिधूड़ी की हत्या के बाद हुई। जांच एजेंसियों का आरोप है कि अरुण की हत्या में रतन के बेटे दीपक और विजय के बड़े भाई अजय की भूमिका थी।
इस मामले में दीपक और अजय के साथ योगेश नाम का एक व्यक्ति भी जेल में है।
जांच में यह आरोप भी सामने आया कि अरुण के चाचा कमल, जिनका आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड बताया गया है, ने रतन की हत्या के लिए कथित शूटरों की व्यवस्था की थी। रतन की हत्या के बाद कमल को गिरफ्तार किया गया था।
रतन की हत्या के बाद दोनों परिवारों के बीच विवाद खत्म कराने के लिए कई स्तरों पर बातचीत भी हुई।
पुलिस के मुताबिक, परिवारों के सदस्यों ने बैठकर समझौते का प्रयास किया और स्थानीय ग्राम पंचायत ने भी मामले में हस्तक्षेप किया, लेकिन विवाद का स्थायी समाधान नहीं हो सका।
अब पुलिस एक हालिया अदालती सुनवाई को भी जांच का हिस्सा बना रही है, जो अरुण बिधूड़ी हत्याकांड से संबंधित थी।
सूत्रों के अनुसार, सुनवाई के दौरान अजय ने कथित तौर पर दूसरे पक्ष को आने वाले दिनों में परिणाम भुगतने की चेतावनी दी थी।
पुलिस यह पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रही है कि कथित बातचीत का विजय की हत्या से कोई संबंध था या नहीं।
जांचकर्ताओं को संदेह है कि विजय की हत्या अचानक लिया गया फैसला नहीं थी, बल्कि इसकी तैयारी पहले से की गई हो सकती है।
पुलिस इस संभावना की जांच कर रही है कि हमलावरों ने आया नगर में रेकी की और विजय की दिनचर्या पर नजर रखी। बताया जा रहा है कि विजय रोज सुबह अपने जिम आता था।
मामले की आगे की जांच के तहत पुलिस तिहाड़ जेल में बंद कमल से पूछताछ कर सकती है।
इसके अलावा अरुण बिधूड़ी के परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों से भी पूछताछ किए जाने की संभावना है, ताकि हत्या की साजिश, संभावित मकसद और इसमें शामिल लोगों के बारे में जानकारी जुटाई जा सके।
उधर, विजय की हत्या के बाद आए नगर में स्थानीय लोगों और उसके परिवार में नाराजगी है। विजय के परिजनों और स्थानीय निवासियों ने मंगलवार को कहा कि वे हत्या के विरोध में प्रदर्शन करेंगे और दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई के साथ न्याय की मांग उठाएंगे।
विजय की पत्नी रितु ने कहा कि उनके पति को पहले से धमकियां मिल रही थीं।
उनका कहना है कि विजय उन्हें यह भरोसा दिलाते थे कि उन्हें निशाना नहीं बनाया जाएगा, क्योंकि उनका अरुण बिधूड़ी की हत्या से कोई लेना-देना नहीं था।
पुलिस अब सीसीटीवी फुटेज, संदिग्ध मोटरसाइकिल, हथियारों, कथित धमकियों और संभावित गैंग कनेक्शन समेत सभी पहलुओं की जांच कर रही है।
जांच का मुख्य उद्देश्य विजय की हत्या के पीछे वास्तविक मकसद और वारदात में शामिल सभी लोगों की भूमिका स्पष्ट करना है।
