Iran Pledges Strong Military Readiness as Trump Pauses Fresh US Strike for Nuclear Talks
Tehran/Washington: Iran has declared that it considers every warning issued by its rivals to be genuine and potentially actionable, reaffirming that it will continue reinforcing its defence preparedness.
The statement came as diplomatic efforts gathered momentum following US President Donald Trump’s decision to temporarily suspend plans for another military strike on Iran.
Speaking to Iranian state television, Acting Defence Minister Majid Ibn al-Reza said Tehran would not dismiss any hostile message as mere psychological pressure.
According to him, the country’s armed forces remain fully alert and prepared to respond to any situation that could threaten national security.
The minister stated that Iran would neither allow itself to be surprised by emerging developments nor adopt a passive approach.
Instead, every external threat would be treated as an opportunity to improve operational readiness, reinforce deterrence and further upgrade the country’s military capabilities.
The remarks followed President Trump’s announcement that Washington would postpone any fresh military action while negotiations continued over Iran’s nuclear programme and the future of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Late on Saturday, Trump indicated that the United States would refrain from launching another attack if a comprehensive agreement could be reached quickly to curb Tehran’s nuclear activities and restore unrestricted navigation through the vital maritime corridor.
Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, the US President said Iran, along with several countries from the Middle East, had requested additional time to agree.
According to Trump, the proposed arrangement would ensure the immediate and complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz while addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.
Although Trump did not disclose the names of the countries involved in the discussions, his announcement came shortly after a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In his message, Trump said he had agreed to suspend the planned military strike in the interest of global stability and for the long-term prosperity of Iran, provided negotiations produced a swift and acceptable agreement.
He added that the decision remained conditional upon the successful conclusion of a deal.
The US President further asserted that Israel supported the diplomatic approach and shared his commitment to avoiding another military confrontation while negotiations remained active.
According to Saudi Arabia’s official news agency SPA, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Trump also discussed measures aimed at easing regional tensions during their conversation.
The Saudi Crown Prince stressed that dialogue should remain the preferred path for reducing conflict.
He also emphasised the importance of making every possible effort to secure a ceasefire that could eventually create favourable conditions for a lasting diplomatic settlement.
The renewed diplomatic engagement comes after more than five months of hostilities that began on February 28, when the United States and Israel carried out military strikes against targets in Iran.
An earlier ceasefire arrangement, which had also envisaged the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, ultimately broke down, leading to a fresh escalation in the conflict.
Following the collapse of the truce, Iran tightened its grip over the strategically significant shipping route as military confrontations resumed in recent weeks, raising concerns over global maritime trade.
The latest flare-up has once again driven international crude oil prices upward after they had briefly stabilised during the period of reduced hostilities under the previous ceasefire.
The unfolding crisis is also emerging as a significant political challenge for President Trump, with the renewed tensions taking place barely three months before the United States heads into crucial midterm elections that could influence the Republican Party’s electoral prospects.

तेहरान/वॉशिंगटन: ईरान ने स्पष्ट किया है कि वह अपने विरोधियों की ओर से आने वाली हर चेतावनी को वास्तविक और गंभीर मानता है तथा किसी भी संभावित चुनौती से निपटने के लिए अपनी सैन्य तैयारियों को लगातार मजबूत करता रहेगा।
यह बयान ऐसे समय आया है जब अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने परमाणु कार्यक्रम को लेकर जारी वार्ता के बीच ईरान पर प्रस्तावित नए सैन्य हमले को फिलहाल स्थगित करने की घोषणा की है।
ईरान के कार्यवाहक रक्षा मंत्री माजिद इब्न अल-रेजा ने सरकारी मीडिया से बातचीत में कहा कि तेहरान किसी भी धमकी को केवल मनोवैज्ञानिक दबाव मानकर नजरअंदाज नहीं करेगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि देश की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पूरी तरह सतर्क है और किसी भी संभावित परिस्थिति का सामना करने के लिए तैयार है।
उन्होंने कहा कि ईरान न तो किसी घटनाक्रम से अचंभित होगा और न ही निष्क्रिय रहेगा।
उनके अनुसार, हर बाहरी चुनौती को सैन्य तैयारी बढ़ाने, प्रतिरोधक क्षमता मजबूत करने और रक्षा संसाधनों को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने के अवसर के रूप में देखा जाएगा।
रक्षा मंत्री की यह टिप्पणी उस घोषणा के बाद सामने आई जिसमें राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप ने कहा कि जब तक कूटनीतिक प्रयास जारी हैं, तब तक अमेरिका ईरान के खिलाफ नई सैन्य कार्रवाई नहीं करेगा।
शनिवार देर रात ट्रंप ने संकेत दिया कि यदि ईरान के परमाणु कार्यक्रम को सीमित करने और होर्मुज जलडमरूमध्य को पूरी तरह खोलने संबंधी समझौता शीघ्र हो जाता है, तो अमेरिका नया हमला नहीं करेगा।
अपने सोशल मीडिया मंच ट्रुथ सोशल पर ट्रंप ने लिखा कि ईरान और मध्य पूर्व के कुछ अन्य देशों ने समझौते को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए अतिरिक्त समय मांगा है।
उनके अनुसार, प्रस्तावित समझौते से होर्मुज जलडमरूमध्य को तत्काल, पूर्ण और निर्बाध रूप से खोला जाएगा तथा ईरान के परमाणु कार्यक्रम से जुड़ी चिंताओं का समाधान किया जाएगा।
हालांकि ट्रंप ने उन देशों के नाम सार्वजनिक नहीं किए, लेकिन उनकी यह घोषणा सऊदी अरब के क्राउन प्रिंस मोहम्मद बिन सलमान के साथ हुई टेलीफोन वार्ता के तुरंत बाद सामने आई।
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि विश्व की स्थिरता और ईरान के दीर्घकालिक हितों को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन्होंने प्रस्तावित सैन्य कार्रवाई रोकने का निर्णय लिया है।
हालांकि उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि यह निर्णय तभी प्रभावी रहेगा जब वार्ता शीघ्र किसी ठोस समझौते तक पहुंचेगी।
ट्रंप ने यह भी दावा किया कि इज़राइल इस कूटनीतिक पहल का समर्थन करता है और वार्ता जारी रहने तक सैन्य कार्रवाई से बचने की उनकी प्रतिबद्धता में सहभागी है।
सऊदी अरब की सरकारी समाचार एजेंसी एसपीए के अनुसार, क्राउन प्रिंस मोहम्मद बिन सलमान और राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप ने अपनी बातचीत के दौरान क्षेत्रीय तनाव कम करने के उपायों पर भी विस्तार से चर्चा की।
सऊदी नेतृत्व ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि मौजूदा संकट का समाधान संवाद के माध्यम से ही संभव है। साथ ही उन्होंने युद्धविराम सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सभी पक्षों द्वारा गंभीर प्रयास किए जाने की आवश्यकता बताई, ताकि स्थायी कूटनीतिक समाधान का मार्ग प्रशस्त हो सके।
यह नई कूटनीतिक पहल उस संघर्ष के पांच महीने से अधिक समय बाद सामने आई है जिसकी शुरुआत 28 फरवरी को अमेरिका और इज़राइल द्वारा ईरान के खिलाफ सैन्य कार्रवाई किए जाने के बाद हुई थी।
