Kangana Ranaut Reaffirms Support for BJP-RSS Ideology, Says She Wants to Become an ‘Awakened Hindu’
New Delhi: BJP Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi and actor Kangana Ranaut has once again defended her recent remarks on the student protests, saying her ideological journey has led her towards what she described as becoming a “defined and awakened Hindu.”
She asserted that every citizen has the freedom to embrace an ideology of choice and questioned why such freedom should be viewed differently in her case.
Sharing her views through a video message posted on the social media platform X, Ranaut alleged that several people who identify themselves as Hindus undergo ideological changes after marriage or after associating with what she described as “Islamists.”
She contrasted those developments with her own decision to align herself more closely with the ideological principles of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The BJP MP said she once considered herself a “moderate Hindu,” but over time her outlook had changed.
According to her, she now wishes to openly identify with what she termed an awakened Hindu identity inspired by the philosophy of the BJP and the RSS.
Ranaut said that people often ask her when she became associated with the RSS.
Responding to such questions, she stated that she wanted to embrace the ideology propagated by the BJP and the RSS because, in her view, it promotes awareness among Hindus.
She said she wished to adopt that ideology and questioned why such a personal ideological choice should invite criticism.
Referring to constitutional freedoms, the MP argued that every individual is entitled to make personal choices regarding beliefs and convictions.
She questioned why, according to her, a moderate Hindu woman choosing to adopt a stronger ideological identity should face social resistance, describing the situation as contradictory.
Ranaut also said that critics frequently revisit incidents from her past and refer to her earlier lifestyle to question her present beliefs.
She remarked that decade-old reports and past experiences are repeatedly cited to put her through what she called an “agni pariksha,” or a trial of her credibility.
Acknowledging that she had lived a different life in earlier years, the actor-turned-politician said people are free to point to her past.
However, she maintained that individuals have the right to evolve and redefine themselves over time.
She reiterated that she now wishes to identify herself as a “defined and awakened Hindu” and questioned why society should object to that transformation.

नई दिल्ली: हिमाचल प्रदेश की मंडी लोकसभा सीट से भाजपा सांसद और अभिनेत्री कंगना रनौत ने छात्र आंदोलनों को लेकर दिए गए अपने हालिया बयानों का बचाव करते हुए कहा है कि उनकी वैचारिक यात्रा उन्हें उस पहचान तक ले आई है, जिसे वह “जागृत और स्पष्ट हिंदू” के रूप में देखती हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक नागरिक को अपनी पसंद की विचारधारा अपनाने का अधिकार है और उनके मामले में इस स्वतंत्रता पर सवाल उठाया जाना उचित नहीं है।
सोशल मीडिया मंच एक्स पर साझा किए गए एक वीडियो संदेश में कंगना ने आरोप लगाया कि कई ऐसे लोग, जो स्वयं को हिंदू बताते हैं, विवाह के बाद अथवा जिन लोगों को उन्होंने “इस्लामवादी” कहा, उनके संपर्क में आने के बाद अपनी वैचारिक सोच बदल लेते हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि इसके विपरीत उन्होंने स्वयं भारतीय जनता पार्टी और राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की विचारधारा के साथ जुड़ने का निर्णय लिया है।
भाजपा सांसद ने कहा कि पहले वह स्वयं को “मॉडरेट हिंदू” मानती थीं, लेकिन समय के साथ उनकी सोच में परिवर्तन आया।
उनके अनुसार, अब वह भाजपा और आरएसएस की विचारधारा से प्रेरित एक “जागृत हिंदू” के रूप में अपनी पहचान स्थापित करना चाहती हैं।
कंगना ने कहा कि उनसे अक्सर पूछा जाता है कि वह कब से “संघी” बन गईं।
इस पर उन्होंने कहा कि वह भाजपा और आरएसएस की विचारधारा को अपनाना चाहती हैं क्योंकि उनके अनुसार यह विचारधारा हिंदुओं में जागरूकता उत्पन्न करती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि यदि वह इस विचारधारा को स्वीकार करना चाहती हैं तो इसमें आपत्ति का कारण क्या होना चाहिए।
संविधान में प्रदत्त स्वतंत्रता का उल्लेख करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपनी मान्यताओं और विचारों का चुनाव करने का अधिकार प्राप्त है।
उन्होंने सवाल उठाया कि यदि एक “मॉडरेट हिंदू” महिला अपनी वैचारिक पहचान बदलना चाहती है, तो उसे लेकर समाज में आपत्ति क्यों व्यक्त की जाती है। उनके अनुसार, यही सबसे बड़ा विरोधाभास है।
अपने आलोचकों का उल्लेख करते हुए कंगना ने कहा कि उनके खिलाफ अक्सर कई वर्ष पुराने समाचार और घटनाओं को सामने लाकर उनकी वर्तमान सोच पर सवाल उठाए जाते हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि उनके पुराने जीवन को आधार बनाकर उन्हें बार-बार “अग्निपरीक्षा” देने के लिए मजबूर किया जाता है।
अभिनेत्री से राजनेता बनी कंगना ने स्वीकार किया कि अतीत में उनका जीवन अलग रहा होगा और लोग उसकी चर्चा कर सकते हैं।
लेकिन उन्होंने कहा कि हर व्यक्ति को समय के साथ अपने विचारों और जीवन की दिशा बदलने का अधिकार है।
उन्होंने दोहराया कि वह अब स्वयं को “जागृत और स्पष्ट हिंदू” के रूप में देखना चाहती हैं और पूछा कि समाज उनके इस वैचारिक परिवर्तन को स्वीकार करने में संकोच क्यों करता है।
