Lucknow Fire Tragedy: Yogi Adityanath Orders High-Level SIT Probe into Aliganj Blaze That Claimed 15 Lives

In the aftermath of the devastating fire that claimed 15 lives in Lucknow’s Aliganj locality, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered the formation of a high-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the tragedy.

The move comes amid growing questions over the circumstances that led to the disaster and whether lapses in safety measures contributed to the loss of lives.

The two-member investigation panel comprises Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, Amrit Abhijat, and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Lucknow Zone, Praveen Kumar.

Both senior officers have been entrusted with examining every aspect of the incident and identifying any administrative shortcomings or violations that may have played a role in the catastrophe.

According to official sources, the decision to establish the SIT was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary for Home Affairs, the Director General of Police (DGP) and other senior government officials, who discussed the circumstances surrounding the blaze and the response of various departments.

The state government has directed the inquiry panel to submit its findings within seven days.

The SIT has been tasked with determining the exact sequence of events that led to the fire, identifying the cause of the incident and examining whether any negligence, procedural lapses or failure to comply with safety norms on the part of concerned departments or establishments contributed to the tragedy.

The inferno broke out in a three-storey commercial complex in the Aliganj neighbourhood on Monday and quickly engulfed the structure.

According to officials, at least 15 people lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in the incident.

Most of those who died were young students and trainees who had gathered in the building for educational activities.

Several victims became trapped on the second floor, where an animation and graphics training centre was functioning.

As smoke spread rapidly through the building, many of those inside were unable to find a safe exit.

Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire, and investigations are continuing.

Eyewitnesses recounted horrifying scenes from the tragedy. They said several people, overwhelmed by thick smoke and flames, jumped from the building in desperate attempts to save their lives.

The commercial structure was destroyed in the fire, leaving behind charred remains and shattered families.

The building also housed a pet clinic on its lower floors. Amid the chaos, rescue teams and residents managed to save several distressed animals trapped inside the facility.

Their rescue provided a small ray of relief in an otherwise heartbreaking tragedy that has left the city in shock and mourning.

लखनऊ के अलीगंज इलाके में हुए भीषण अग्निकांड, जिसमें 15 लोगों की दर्दनाक मौत हो गई, के बाद उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने सोमवार को पूरे मामले की गहन जांच के लिए एक उच्चस्तरीय विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) गठित करने के निर्देश दिए। इस हादसे के बाद लगातार यह सवाल उठ रहे हैं कि आखिर ऐसी भयावह घटना किन परिस्थितियों में हुई और क्या सुरक्षा प्रबंधन में किसी प्रकार की चूक ने इतने बड़े जान-माल के नुकसान को जन्म दिया।

दो सदस्यीय जांच समिति में पर्यटन, संस्कृति एवं धर्मार्थ कार्य विभाग के अपर मुख्य सचिव अमित अभिजात और लखनऊ जोन के अपर पुलिस महानिदेशक (एडीजी) प्रवीण कुमार को शामिल किया गया है। दोनों वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को इस पूरे मामले के हर पहलू की बारीकी से जांच करने तथा यह पता लगाने की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है कि कहीं प्रशासनिक लापरवाही, नियमों की अनदेखी या सुरक्षा संबंधी कमियों ने इस त्रासदी को और गंभीर तो नहीं बना दिया।

आधिकारिक सूत्रों के अनुसार, एसआईटी के गठन का निर्णय मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित एक उच्चस्तरीय समीक्षा बैठक में लिया गया। बैठक में मुख्य सचिव, गृह विभाग के अपर मुख्य सचिव, पुलिस महानिदेशक (डीजीपी) तथा अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया। इस दौरान आग लगने की परिस्थितियों, राहत एवं बचाव अभियान और विभिन्न विभागों की भूमिका पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई।

राज्य सरकार ने जांच दल को सात दिनों के भीतर अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करने के निर्देश दिए हैं। एसआईटी को यह पता लगाने की जिम्मेदारी दी गई है कि आग लगने की वास्तविक वजह क्या थी, घटनाक्रम किस प्रकार आगे बढ़ा और क्या संबंधित विभागों या संस्थानों की ओर से किसी प्रकार की लापरवाही, प्रक्रियागत त्रुटि अथवा सुरक्षा मानकों के अनुपालन में कमी इस हादसे का कारण बनी।

सोमवार को अलीगंज स्थित एक तीन मंजिला व्यावसायिक परिसर में अचानक आग भड़क उठी और देखते ही देखते उसने पूरी इमारत को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, इस दर्दनाक हादसे में कम से कम 15 लोगों की जान चली गई, जबकि सात अन्य लोग घायल हुए हैं। मृतकों में अधिकांश युवा छात्र और प्रशिक्षु थे, जो शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण संबंधी गतिविधियों के लिए वहां मौजूद थे।

मृतकों में कई लोग दूसरी मंजिल पर फंस गए थे, जहां एक एनीमेशन और ग्राफिक्स प्रशिक्षण केंद्र संचालित हो रहा था। आग और धुएं के तेजी से फैलने के कारण भवन के भीतर मौजूद लोगों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकलने का पर्याप्त अवसर नहीं मिल सका। प्रशासन अभी तक आग लगने के सटीक कारणों का पता नहीं लगा पाया है और मामले की जांच जारी है।

प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों ने घटनास्थल के भयावह दृश्यों को याद करते हुए बताया कि कई लोग जान बचाने की कोशिश में इमारत से नीचे कूद गए। चारों ओर फैले धुएं और आग की लपटों ने लोगों को भयभीत कर दिया था। कुछ ही देर में पूरी इमारत जलकर खाक हो गई और पीछे छोड़ गई राख, मलबा और अपनों को खोने का गहरा दर्द।

इस भवन की निचली मंजिलों में एक पालतू पशु चिकित्सा केंद्र भी संचालित हो रहा था। आग लगने के बाद अफरा-तफरी के बीच बचाव दलों और स्थानीय लोगों ने वहां फंसे कई जानवरों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला। इन बेजुबान जीवों का बच जाना इस हृदयविदारक हादसे के बीच राहत की एक छोटी-सी किरण साबित हुआ, जबकि पूरा शहर अब भी इस त्रासदी के सदमे और शोक से उबरने की कोशिश कर रहा है।
