NEET-UG 2026: NTA Withholds Result of Alleged Paper Leak Accused Yash Yadav After CBI Probe
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has withheld the result of Yash Yadav, one of the accused in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak case, even as it declared the results of the re-examination conducted on July 16.
Officials familiar with the matter said the decision was taken in view of the ongoing investigation into the examination scandal.
The medical entrance examination originally conducted on May 3 was scrapped after allegations of a question paper leak surfaced across several locations.
The NTA subsequently organised a fresh examination on June 21, while the results of the retest were announced on Thursday.
Investigators from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claim that Yadav was arrested on May 13 for his alleged role in circulating the leaked examination paper.
According to the agency, he received PDF copies of the confidential question paper through the encrypted messaging platform Telegram and allegedly sold them to candidates for ₹10 lakh.
The probe further suggests that he also appeared in the original examination held on May 3 and played a key role in distributing the leaked material.
More than 22.7 lakh candidates had taken that examination.
Before the re-examination, Yadav approached the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi seeking permission to appear for the test.
On June 16, Special Judge Dr Vishal Gogne ruled that the seriousness of the allegations alone could not deprive a student of the opportunity to take an examination.
The court observed that the validity of his candidature and any future selection would ultimately depend on the decision of the competent authorities and the examination-conducting body.
Although the court permitted him to sit for the June 21 examination, it declined his request for interim bail.
The judge noted that the investigation was still at an early stage, a large body of evidence was yet to be collected, and several other suspects remained under scrutiny.
In these circumstances, the court held that releasing him temporarily could adversely affect the ongoing probe.
Twenty-year-old Yadav, a resident of Gurgaon and a student of Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Dehradun, had also sought interim bail to attend his sister’s wedding.
While the court refused to release him, authorities allowed him to appear for the examination on June 21 and attend the family ceremony the following day under judicial custody arrangements.
His examination result, however, has now been kept in abeyance pending the outcome of the investigation.

नई दिल्ली: राष्ट्रीय परीक्षा एजेंसी (एनटीए) ने कथित नीट-यूजी 2026 प्रश्नपत्र लीक मामले के आरोपी यश यादव का परीक्षा परिणाम फिलहाल रोक दिया है। यह निर्णय ऐसे समय लिया गया है जब 21 जून को आयोजित पुनर्परीक्षा का परिणाम गुरुवार को घोषित कर दिया गया।
सूत्रों के अनुसार, चल रही जांच को देखते हुए एजेंसी ने यादव का परिणाम जारी नहीं करने का फैसला किया है।
3 मई को आयोजित मूल नीट-यूजी परीक्षा प्रश्नपत्र लीक होने के आरोपों के बाद रद्द कर दी गई थी। इसके बाद एनटीए ने 21 जून को दोबारा परीक्षा आयोजित कराई, जिसका परिणाम अब घोषित किया गया है।
मामले की जांच कर रही केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) के अनुसार, 13 मई को गिरफ्तार किए गए यश यादव ने कथित तौर पर सुरक्षित मैसेजिंग प्लेटफॉर्म टेलीग्राम के माध्यम से लीक प्रश्नपत्र की पीडीएफ प्राप्त की थी और उसे लगभग 10 लाख रुपये में बेचने का आरोप है।
जांच एजेंसी का दावा है कि यादव स्वयं भी 3 मई की परीक्षा में शामिल हुआ था और कथित रूप से लीक प्रश्नपत्र को अन्य अभ्यर्थियों तक पहुंचाने में उसकी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका थी। उस परीक्षा में 22.7 लाख से अधिक अभ्यर्थियों ने हिस्सा लिया था।
पुनर्परीक्षा से पहले यादव ने दिल्ली की राउज एवेन्यू अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाया था। 16 जून को विशेष न्यायाधीश डॉ. विशाल गोगने ने अपने आदेश में कहा कि केवल आरोपों के आधार पर किसी छात्र को परीक्षा में बैठने के अधिकार से वंचित नहीं किया जा सकता।
अदालत ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि उसकी पात्रता, उम्मीदवारी और संभावित चयन पर अंतिम निर्णय संबंधित सक्षम प्राधिकारी और परीक्षा आयोजित करने वाली संस्था ही करेगी।
हालांकि अदालत ने यादव को 21 जून की पुनर्परीक्षा में शामिल होने की अनुमति दे दी, लेकिन अंतरिम जमानत देने से इनकार कर दिया।
न्यायालय ने कहा कि जांच अभी शुरुआती चरण में है, कई महत्वपूर्ण साक्ष्य जुटाए जाने बाकी हैं और अन्य संदिग्धों की भूमिका की भी जांच जारी है। ऐसे में अंतरिम राहत देना उचित नहीं होगा।
20 वर्षीय यश यादव गुरुग्राम का निवासी है और उत्तराखंड आयुर्वेद विश्वविद्यालय, देहरादून का छात्र है। उसने अपनी बहन के विवाह में शामिल होने के लिए भी अंतरिम जमानत की मांग की थी।
अदालत ने जमानत तो नहीं दी, लेकिन न्यायिक अभिरक्षा में उसे 21 जून को परीक्षा देने और अगले दिन बहन के विवाह में शामिल होने की अनुमति प्रदान की। अब उसकी उत्तर पुस्तिका का मूल्यांकन होने के बावजूद उसका परिणाम जांच पूरी होने तक रोक दिया गया है।
