PM Narendra Modi to Visit Seychelles as Guest of Honour for National Day Golden Jubilee, Bilateral Ties Set to Deepen

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day State Visit to Seychelles from June 27 to June 29, where he will attend the island nation’s Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour.

The visit highlights the growing strategic partnership between India and Seychelles and reflects New Delhi’s continued commitment to strengthening its engagement with countries in the Indian Ocean Region.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to the long-standing friendship between the two nations.

The visit comes at a time when India is placing increased emphasis on maritime cooperation, regional security, trade, development partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges with its key partners in the Indian Ocean.

A major highlight of the visit will be Prime Minister Modi’s meeting with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie.

During the bilateral talks, the two leaders are expected to review the entire spectrum of India-Seychelles relations, including cooperation in maritime security, defence, infrastructure development, capacity building, healthcare, education, climate resilience, renewable energy, and economic collaboration.

The discussions are also likely to explore new opportunities for expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Seychelles’ National Day, an Indian Armed Forces contingent will participate in the ceremonial parade.

In addition, two Indian Navy warships will be present during the celebrations, symbolising the close defence and maritime partnership shared by the two countries.

India’s participation reflects the strong trust and strategic cooperation that have developed over the years between New Delhi and Victoria.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the visit will reaffirm the enduring friendship between India and Seychelles while reinforcing the shared commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Officials believe the visit will further strengthen collaboration in security, sustainable development, disaster management, the blue economy, and regional connectivity.

Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to address the National Assembly of Seychelles during his visit.

His address is expected to underline India’s vision for an inclusive, secure, and prosperous Indian Ocean region while reaffirming New Delhi’s support for the development aspirations of Seychelles and other island nations.

Apart from official engagements, the Prime Minister will interact with members of the Indian diaspora living in Seychelles.

The Indian community has played an important role in strengthening cultural and economic ties between the two countries over several decades.

The interaction is expected to acknowledge their contribution while reinforcing the people-to-people bonds that remain a cornerstone of India-Seychelles relations.

India and Seychelles have enjoyed warm diplomatic ties since the island nation gained independence.

Over the years, the relationship has expanded significantly through cooperation in defence, maritime surveillance, healthcare, education, infrastructure development,t and humanitarian assistance.

India has also been one of Seychelles’ key development partners by extending financial assistance, technical expertise, and capacity-building support for several major projects.

The upcoming visit is expected to further elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries while opening new avenues for cooperation.

With the Indian Ocean becoming increasingly important from both economic and security perspectives, the visit underscores India’s broader commitment to working closely with trusted regional partners and promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across the region.

सेशेल्स के राष्ट्रीय दिवस की स्वर्ण जयंती में मुख्य अतिथि होंगे पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी, द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को मिलेगी नई मजबूती

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 27 जून से 29 जून तक सेशेल्स की तीन दिवसीय राजकीय यात्रा पर जाएंगे। इस दौरान वह सेशेल्स के राष्ट्रीय दिवस की स्वर्ण जयंती समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शामिल होंगे।

यह यात्रा भारत और सेशेल्स के बीच लगातार मजबूत हो रहे रणनीतिक संबंधों को नई दिशा देने के साथ-साथ हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में भारत की सक्रिय कूटनीतिक भूमिका को भी रेखांकित करती है।

विदेश मंत्रालय (एमईए) के अनुसार, प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की यह यात्रा दोनों देशों के बीच दशकों पुराने मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंधों को और मजबूत बनाएगी। ऐसे समय में जब भारत हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में समुद्री सुरक्षा, क्षेत्रीय सहयोग, व्यापार, विकास साझेदारी और लोगों के बीच संपर्क बढ़ाने पर विशेष जोर दे रहा है, यह दौरा काफी महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।

यात्रा के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री मोदी सेशेल्स के राष्ट्रपति पैट्रिक हर्मिनी से द्विपक्षीय वार्ता करेंगे। दोनों नेता रक्षा सहयोग, समुद्री सुरक्षा, आधारभूत ढांचा विकास, स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा, कौशल विकास, जलवायु परिवर्तन, नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा, ब्लू इकोनॉमी और आर्थिक साझेदारी सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में चल रहे सहयोग की समीक्षा करेंगे। साथ ही भविष्य में सहयोग के नए अवसरों पर भी चर्चा होने की संभावना है।

राष्ट्रीय दिवस की स्वर्ण जयंती समारोह के दौरान भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों का एक दल औपचारिक परेड में हिस्सा लेगा। इसके अलावा भारतीय नौसेना के दो युद्धपोत भी समारोह में शामिल होंगे। यह भागीदारी दोनों देशों के बीच वर्षों से विकसित मजबूत रक्षा और समुद्री सहयोग का प्रतीक मानी जा रही है।

विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि यह यात्रा भारत और सेशेल्स के बीच गहरी और स्थायी मित्रता की पुनर्पुष्टि करेगी तथा दोनों देशों की उस साझा प्रतिबद्धता को और मजबूत बनाएगी जिसके तहत वे विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में सहयोग का विस्तार करना चाहते हैं। अधिकारियों का मानना है कि इस दौरे से सुरक्षा, आपदा प्रबंधन, सतत विकास, क्षेत्रीय संपर्क और ब्लू इकोनॉमी जैसे क्षेत्रों में साझेदारी को नई गति मिलेगी।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी अपनी यात्रा के दौरान सेशेल्स की राष्ट्रीय विधानसभा को भी संबोधित करेंगे। अपने संबोधन में उनके हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में शांति, सुरक्षा, समावेशी विकास और साझा समृद्धि के लिए भारत की प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराने की संभावना है। साथ ही वे छोटे द्वीपीय देशों के विकास में भारत की भागीदारी पर भी जोर दे सकते हैं।

आधिकारिक कार्यक्रमों के अलावा प्रधानमंत्री सेशेल्स में बसे भारतीय समुदाय के सदस्यों से भी मुलाकात करेंगे। वहां का भारतीय समुदाय लंबे समय से दोनों देशों के बीच सांस्कृतिक, सामाजिक और आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता रहा है। यह संवाद दोनों देशों के बीच लोगों के स्तर पर बने मजबूत रिश्तों को और गहरा करने का अवसर माना जा रहा है।

भारत और सेशेल्स के बीच स्वतंत्रता के बाद से ही घनिष्ठ राजनयिक संबंध रहे हैं। समय के साथ रक्षा, समुद्री निगरानी, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं, शिक्षा, आधारभूत ढांचा विकास और मानवीय सहायता जैसे क्षेत्रों में सहयोग लगातार बढ़ा है। भारत ने सेशेल्स में कई विकास परियोजनाओं के लिए वित्तीय सहायता, तकनीकी सहयोग और क्षमता निर्माण कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।

विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की यह यात्रा दोनों देशों की रणनीतिक साझेदारी को नई ऊंचाइयों तक ले जाएगी। साथ ही यह हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में भारत की ‘पड़ोसी प्रथम’ और समुद्री सहयोग आधारित विदेश नीति को भी और मजबूती प्रदान करेगी।
