Pooja Batra Announces Four-Day Goa Wellness Retreat, Blending Yoga With Inner Renewal
Former Miss India International Expands Her Wellness Journey With an Immersive Retreat Focused on Mind, Body and Self-Connection
MUMBAI: Actress and former Miss India International Pooja Batra is taking her association with yoga and holistic wellness a step further with a four-day retreat in Goa, inviting participants to step away from their daily routines and devote time to physical, mental and emotional rejuvenation.
Batra shared the announcement on social media through a series of photographs and encouraged her followers to become part of the upcoming experience.

The retreat is in keeping with the lifestyle Batra has increasingly embraced beyond her acting career.
Yoga, fitness and personal well-being have become prominent elements of her public persona, and the Goa programme appears to bring those interests together in an environment designed around reflection, restoration and self-awareness.
For Batra, the transition towards wellness represents another chapter in a career that has moved across fashion, Indian cinema, international entertainment and entrepreneurial ventures.
Her public profile first rose sharply in the 1990s after she won the Femina Miss India International title in 1993.
With her striking presence and height of 5’11”, she became a prominent model and went on to participate in more than 250 fashion shows and advertising assignments internationally.
Campaigns such as the Liril commercial and her association with Head & Shoulders further strengthened her visibility.
What distinguished her early journey was the importance she attached to education alongside modelling.
Rather than allowing professional opportunities to determine her priorities, Batra completed a degree in Economics before pursuing an MBA in Marketing from Symbiosis in Pune.
Cinema eventually became the next major phase of her career. She made her Bollywood debut with Virasat in 1997, sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor and Tabu.
Her performance brought her a Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Filmfare nomination, giving her an early foothold in the Hindi film industry.
She subsequently worked in more than 20 films, including Bhai, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye and Nayak: The Real Hero.
Her acting career was not restricted to Hindi cinema, as she also appeared in productions from the Malayalam and Tamil film industries.
Batra later explored opportunities outside Indian cinema as well.
Her international work included the science-fiction film One Under the Sun, in which she portrayed an astronaut, while her American television credits included Lethal Weapon and later The Rookie.
Her interest in the business side of entertainment also led her to co-found GlowBellInc, a company aimed at facilitating collaborations between Indian and international production interests.
Among the projects associated with that cross-border work was the involvement of Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone in the Bollywood film Kambakkht Ishq.
Even after several decades in the entertainment industry, Batra has continued to remain visible.
In 2026, she appeared as a showstopper at the Cannes Film Festival in connection with Echoes Of Us, alongside filmmaker and actor Deepak Tijori.
Away from the spotlight, her life has also included a strong connection with physical activity.
Raised in an Army family, Batra competed as a track athlete at the national level in the 200-metre and 400-metre events before entering the fashion and entertainment worlds.
Her personal life has taken her between India and the United States.
She married Los Angeles-based orthopaedic surgeon Dr Sonu S. Ahluwalia in 2003, and the marriage ended in divorce in 2011.
She later married actor Nawab Shah in a private Arya Samaj ceremony in Delhi in July 2019.
Alongside her professional commitments, Batra has also associated herself with philanthropic initiatives involving homeless children, AIDS awareness through the Mukti Foundation, and support for wounded members of the armed forces.
The Goa retreat therefore fits into a broader phase of Batra’s life in which wellness has become more than a fitness pursuit.

मुंबई: बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री और पूर्व मिस इंडिया इंटरनेशनल पूजा बत्रा ने अपने जीवन के वेलनेस और योग से जुड़े पक्ष को एक नए रूप में सामने रखा है।
अभिनेत्री ने गोवा में चार दिवसीय वेलनेस रिट्रीट आयोजित करने की घोषणा की है, जिसमें प्रतिभागियों को रोजमर्रा की भागदौड़ से कुछ समय अलग होकर अपने शरीर, मन और आंतरिक संतुलन पर ध्यान देने का अवसर मिलेगा।
बत्रा ने सोशल मीडिया पर इस आगामी कार्यक्रम की जानकारी तस्वीरों की एक श्रृंखला के साथ साझा की।

करीब 5 फीट 11 इंच लंबी बत्रा ने मॉडलिंग की दुनिया में अपनी अलग पहचान बनाई और 250 से अधिक फैशन शो तथा विज्ञापन अभियानों का हिस्सा बनीं।
लिरिल के चर्चित विज्ञापन और हेड एंड शोल्डर्स की पहली भारतीय ब्रांड फेस के रूप में उनकी पहचान ने उनकी लोकप्रियता को और बढ़ाया।
मॉडलिंग की सफलता के बीच उन्होंने शिक्षा को भी पीछे नहीं छोड़ा।
फिल्मी प्रस्ताव मिलने के बावजूद उन्होंने पहले अपनी पढ़ाई पूरी करने को प्राथमिकता दी। उन्होंने अर्थशास्त्र में स्नातक डिग्री हासिल की और इसके बाद पुणे स्थित सिंबायोसिस से मार्केटिंग में एमबीए किया।
इसके बाद उनका रुख अभिनय की ओर हुआ और 1997 में विरासत से हिंदी फिल्मों में प्रवेश किया।
अनिल कपूर और तब्बू अभिनीत इस फिल्म में उनके अभिनय को सराहना मिली।
इसके लिए उन्हें जी सिने अवॉर्ड में सर्वश्रेष्ठ सहायक अभिनेत्री का सम्मान मिला और फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार के लिए नामांकन भी प्राप्त हुआ।
इसके बाद बत्रा ने दो दशक से अधिक समय तक फिल्मों में सक्रियता बनाए रखी और 20 से ज्यादा फिल्मों में काम किया।
भाई, हसीना मान जाएगी, कहीं प्यार न हो जाए और नायक: द रियल हीरो उनके चर्चित प्रोजेक्ट्स में शामिल रहे। उन्होंने हिंदी फिल्मों के अलावा तमिल और मलयालम सिनेमा में भी अभिनय किया।
बत्रा ने अपने करियर को केवल भारतीय फिल्म उद्योग तक सीमित नहीं रखा।
उन्होंने हॉलीवुड फिल्म वन अंडर द सन में अंतरिक्ष यात्री की भूमिका निभाई।
अमेरिकी टेलीविजन पर उनका काम लीथल वेपन से शुरू हुआ और बाद में द रूकी जैसे कार्यक्रमों में भी उनकी उपस्थिति रही।
मनोरंजन उद्योग के कारोबारी पक्ष में भी उन्होंने कदम रखा। उन्होंने GlowBellInc की सह-स्थापना की, जिसका उद्देश्य भारतीय और विदेशी मनोरंजन जगत के बीच सहयोग को बढ़ावा देना था।
इसी कड़ी में हॉलीवुड अभिनेता सिल्वेस्टर स्टेलोन की कम्बख्त इश्क जैसी बॉलीवुड परियोजना में भागीदारी भी चर्चा में रही।
कई वर्षों के बाद भी बत्रा की सार्वजनिक मौजूदगी बनी हुई है।
वर्ष 2026 में वह Echoes Of Us से जुड़े एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान कान फिल्म फेस्टिवल में शोस्टॉपर के रूप में नजर आईं। इस परियोजना में उनके साथ दीपक तिजोरी भी जुड़े हैं।
फिल्मों और फैशन से अलग उनका शुरुआती जीवन खेलों से भी जुड़ा रहा। सेना परिवार में पली-बढ़ीं बत्रा ने युवावस्था में ट्रैक एंड फील्ड में सक्रिय भागीदारी की और 200 तथा 400 मीटर दौड़ में राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रतिस्पर्धा की।
उनका निजी जीवन भी भारत और अमेरिका के बीच रहा। वर्ष 2003 में उन्होंने लॉस एंजिल्स में रहने वाले ऑर्थोपेडिक सर्जन डॉ. सोनू एस. अहलूवालिया से विवाह किया था।
दोनों का 2011 में तलाक हो गया। बाद में उनका संपर्क अभिनेता नवाब शाह से हुआ और जुलाई 2019 में दिल्ली में एक निजी आर्य समाज समारोह में दोनों विवाह के बंधन में बंधे।
पूजा बत्रा मनोरंजन जगत के बाहर सामाजिक कार्यों से भी जुड़ी रही हैं।
बेघर बच्चों की मदद, मुक्ति फाउंडेशन के माध्यम से एड्स जागरूकता तथा घायल सैन्यकर्मियों के समर्थन जैसे मुद्दों के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता का उल्लेख उनके सार्वजनिक कार्यों में मिलता है।
ऐसे में गोवा का आगामी रिट्रीट उनके वर्तमान जीवन-दर्शन का स्वाभाविक विस्तार दिखाई देता है।
इसका उद्देश्य केवल योग या फिटनेस तक सीमित न रहकर प्रतिभागियों को कुछ समय के लिए व्यस्त जीवन से दूरी बनाने, स्वयं पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने और मानसिक-आंतरिक ऊर्जा को फिर से संवारने का अवसर देना है।
