Prayagraj Shocker: Elderly Man Shot Dead at Lalla Chungi Crossing, Six Sons Under Investigation

Prayagraj: A shocking murder in broad daylight at Lalla Chungi Crossing in Prayagraj has left residents stunned.
An elderly man was shot dead on Saturday morning by assailants who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
According to police, CCTV footage from nearby cameras has helped identify one of the suspects.
Investigators have launched an intensive search operation and are conducting raids at multiple locations to apprehend those involved.
The victim, 67-year-old Ram Dulare, a resident of Shivkuti, had gone out early in the morning to his son’s roadside tea stall, where he regularly worked.
While he was standing near the shop, two men arrived on a motorcycle and fired at him. One of the bullets struck him in the chest.
Police personnel rushed the injured man to Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital (SRN Hospital), where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Following the incident, his family members also reached the hospital. The post-mortem examination was later conducted.
Investigators examined CCTV footage from cameras installed near the crime scene.
The footage reportedly shows two individuals arriving on a motorcycle, shooting the elderly man and fleeing immediately afterwards.
Police are using the recordings as a key part of their investigation.
During the probe, suspicion reportedly fell on the victim’s family.
Based on preliminary findings and statements collected during questioning, police have detained the victim’s six sons for further interrogation.
Officials said that one of the sons, Avdhesh, has been identified as a person of interest in the case.
Police are questioning family members, including the victim’s wife and other relatives, to determine whether a property-related dispute may have been linked to the murder.
Sources indicated that Ram Dulare owned agricultural land and residential property worth several lakh rupees.
Investigators are exploring whether disagreements over these assets may have played a role in the crime.
Police believe the murder may have been orchestrated by someone close to the victim and are examining all possible angles.
Several teams have been formed to identify and arrest the shooters, while the investigation continues to uncover the motive behind the killing.
