Allahabad High Court Extends Interim Protection in School Principal Harassment Case
Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has extended the interim protection granted in a petition filed by a school principal accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The court directed that its earlier order will remain in force until the next date of hearing.
The matter was heard by Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Vikas Budhwar, who passed the order while considering the petition.
The case concerns allegations made by a school principal against three individuals—Vishal Agrawal, N.L. Dan, and Rakesh Kumar Khatri.
Based on the complaint, a case had been registered at Karnalganj Police Station under various provisions of the law.
The accused approached the High Court seeking protection from arrest.
During the proceedings, the court was informed that the parties had reached an understanding and settled their differences.
Taking note of the settlement, the High Court continued the interim stay on arrest.
Counsel representing the accused submitted before the court that the FIR could be quashed in light of the agreement reached between both sides.
The settlement, however, includes a condition that the school principal must continue to uphold the institution’s disciplinary standards and maintain proper conduct within the school environment.
The matter has now been listed for further hearing on June 5.
During the proceedings, one of the advocates withdrew his appearance, after which Justice Vikas D. Budhwar recused himself from hearing the case further.
The court is expected to consider the implications of the settlement and the request for quashing the FIR during the next hearing.
