NEET-UG 2026: Centre Deploys CAPF and CISF for Unprecedented Security Cover
New Delhi: In a major step to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of NEET-UG 2026, the Central Government has put in place an extensive security framework.
The government has decided to deploy personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to oversee the safe transportation and management of examination materials across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct the examination on June 21. Officials said that question papers will be transported to examination centres in nearly 551 cities through a highly secure “hub-and-spoke” distribution system. Both air and road routes will be used to ensure timely delivery.
To strengthen coordination, the government has appointed nodal officers from CAPF and CISF headquarters. These officers will work closely with state authorities and postal department officials to monitor the movement and security of examination materials at every stage.
Security agencies will remain on high alert from June 11 to June 19, overseeing the storage, transit and distribution of question papers. Once the examination concludes on June 21, a systematic process will begin to safely collect and transport answer sheets and other examination-related documents.
Officials said the measures have been designed to eliminate the possibility of paper leaks and ensure a transparent, fair and credible examination process for millions of aspiring medical students.
Railway Recruitment Exams to Get Dedicated Testing Infrastructure
In another significant development, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the creation of a dedicated examination system for railway recruitment tests, following concerns raised by recent examination paper leak incidents.
The Railway Ministry plans to establish 330 computer-based testing centres across the country over the next three years. These centres will be equipped with advanced technology and security features to conduct recruitment examinations in a controlled environment.
As part of the initiative, the ministry will procure high-tech tablet devices, marking the first such large-scale effort aimed at modernising the railway recruitment examination process. Officials believe the new system will improve transparency, reduce malpractice and enhance the overall efficiency of recruitment tests.
